Benny, what are you doing?" I asked him and was scared of him. My whole body was trembling because of the fear.
I was barely standing on my feet and Benny chuckled like it was amusing for him to see me in fear.
" You are too dumb Aisling, you still don't understand why we both are here?"
" Don't talk into riddles, Benny. Come to the point."
" Well, I am finishing the job that my brother Jasper left midway but don't worry I will make it easy for you and you will not feel any pain. "
My hands trembled, so I took a deep drag to calm my frayed nerves. I just wanted to forget that terrible sight, but questions multiplied in my mind as the smoke furled.
I can see from the corner of my eye that the water was boiling in the pot. I thought of an idea.
" Any last wishes?"
" Why you are doing this? I didn't do anything. I beg of you that please have mercy "
I begin to cry in front of him to distract him as I took a step backward.
" poor, Aisling! Are you afraid of death?
" please Benny, I am begging you don't kill me. I didn't do anything wrong. I am innocent please do you not have mercy?
" I can't help you Aisling. It wasn't in my hand I am just following what I have been told to do."
My hands travel to the pot on the stove.
" Who told you to kill me? Tell me, who is behind all this?
" You wanna know it? I don't think, you are ready to hear it poor Aisling."
I gathered the courage that was left in me and one swift motion. I grabbed the pot handle and threw the hot water toward him but he dodged it. His face turned red with anger. I knew this was the fetal mistake I made.
" That's all you got! you made a big mistake Aisling."
I stared at him in fear as his eyes began to change from their normal bright green to an insane yellow glow. He screamed in agony as his knees reversed direction and the bones shifted inside him.. his face contorted as the lone wolf's muzzle extended out in front of him, and he looked forward into his hands. His screams turned into a long howl like the
Dark fur sprouted from his body, and his clothing tore itself from his body as his muscles increased in size.
I am scared... I mean scared, not just hearing a noise in the night, or standing toe to toe with someone twice your size who wants to pound you into the earth - it feels as if I am being injected with darkness. It's like black water as cold as ice settling in my body where my blood and marrow used to be, pushing every other feeling out as it fills me from my feet to my scalp. It leaves me with nothing. Surprisingly, running sounded like a really good idea but he was standing right in front of the doorway.
I took a step backward and he took two steps forward toward me. I could hear the chaotic laughter trailing in front of me. It turned the ageless trees into a menace. They loomed around me while hiding him. The branches tore at my skin to bind me, while weeds sought to shackle my ankles so that I could go no further. The pain they caused was minor, when I compared it to the searing inferno at my core.
" Please, I am begging you. I know this is not you. You don't want to kill me. You never like this. Whoever is making you do this is an evil person. Open your eyes Benny and see this is wrong."
He takes cruel joy in seeing me tremble and writhe beneath my whip, and I don't think he is going to stop. I can see my death in his eyes, so terrifying waiting to envelop me in his arms and take me with him.
Benny was growling furiously at me. I made him so mad by throwing water at him. I guess, no one will save me. I'll be dead by the sunrise.
He was slowly getting closer to me and I was maintaining a distance from him. But until my back touches the counter and there was no way back. I was just stuck.
