Fated Tó The Evil Viking Chapter 121

"General, the mercenaries are here at the mansion." Timothy peeks in through the office door to announce to me.

''Okay, let them wait in their vehicles, I'll be with them in a minute," I reply and immediately stand up to meet them

I briefly stop at the living area to talk to Ella,

"The Gammas at the first and second gates will be joining the meeting. Since we can't leave the gate unattended while they attend the meeting, I want three men at the third gate while you and the two left should go to the second gate. The Gammas will return to their post after the meeting."

"Yes, General" She replies

"Oh, before you leave, ask the men waiting at the field to move to the basketball court. I'll be there as soon as I show the mercenaries their duty post"

"Yes, Alpha." She replies again, nodding curtly before turning to leave with the men

Eric and I walk outside to meet the mercenaries while Ivar and Timothy stay behind to guide the mansion. The men came in two pickup trucks. They are huge men. The way they're dressed in army fatigues makes me wonder if they had no intention of fighting off the rogues with their wolves.

The leader comes out of the front vehicle and starts walking forward to meet us halfway. The way he's geared up and the automatic firearm bullet belt with silver bullets wrapped around his waist made me realize they had no intention of battling rogues with their wolves, the idea is to hunt them down. Well as long as they got the job done, their method of doing it does not interest me. It's the result that matters

"Alpha..." He greets me with a bow and I offer my hand to him. So does Eric after me.

After the pleasantries are done and I've explained to them how many miles of land they will be patrolling, I drive ahead toward the eastern part of the park while they follow behind us.

We arrive at the border and I park our cars. Since everywhere is pitch dark because of the security lights that were destroyed alongside the fence, I wonder if the men would be able to efficiently get the job done with just their wolves' eyes.

We get out of our cars and I ask the leader of the group as we walk toward each other...

"Is working in the dark going to be a problem? Should we arrange some sort of emergency lights here?"

"That won't be necessary, Alpha, we're werewolves. Our wolves' eyes and a strong sense of smell and hearing are all we need. You need not worry because I'm assuring you that not even a weasel will be able to pass through us, into your land."

"I'd really appreciate that," I say with a curt nod. I just need to briefly take care of something. I'll soon be back to join you guys" I say

"Alpha..." He says and bows.

After we made sure that they already had everything they needed to make their job easier Eric and I got back into the car. While I'm driving, he calls Ivar...

"Hey, man. Please, I need you to go to my room. I left a flash drive on the bedside table, get it and meet up with us by the sports field. We're on our way back."

"You already compiled everything inside the flash drive?" I ask when he's done with his call

"Yeah. The fence issues and everything that happens today is all in the flash" He replies

We arrived back at the mansion. Ivar and Timothy walk up to meet us as I'm parking the car.

"They all showed up..." Ivar says as soon as we get out of the car.

"They all showed up? Do you mean the patrol members? How do you know that?" Eric rapidly asks. I can tell from his tone of voice that he doesn't believe they will all show up.

"Victoria took a tabulated attendance of everyone that came. The west, north, and south. Fourteen people from each zone making forty-two patrol members plus eight Gammas." Ivar replies

"She did?" I ask with surprise. "Do you know if she has anything to do with all of them showing up? I mean, do you think she convinced them to show up for the meeting?" I ask as we all walk toward the basketball court

"Maybe she convinced them. Not that she hinted that to me or anything like that though... Just that– I'm sure these people would have heard a thousand reasons why you should be ousted after you won the duel.

And after all they've heard about you, I'm kinda finding it hard to believe that they all just decided to show up because they accepted you as their Alpha already. It's either someone convinced them to come or maybe they have ulterior motives."

I nod in agreement

"If they have ulterior motives and plan to attack us, that's fifty wolves against the four of us then," I say as we arrive at the entrance of the basketball court.

"Before we open the door, are you all ready for whatever it is that might be waiting for us or do you suggest we wait for Henrik and Bear? I don't want to put your lives in danger and..."

Eric doesn't allow me to finish before he answers for the rest of them,

"We're born for this, Thor, so quit the sermon, and let's get moving already." He says as he pushes the door

He goes in ahead of us while Ivar and Timothy flank me on both sides as we walk inside the court after him. Before we entered, I heard different voices conversing through the door but the moment Eric pushed the door open, everywhere became silent.

"The Alpha is here" I hear the unmistakable voice of Victoria say out loud. I look around trying to determine where she's speaking from. She however stands up before I can figure out her position.

"Alpha..." She loudly says again, bowing with respect. I know she's not just acknowledging my presence. She's also urging the rest to do the necessary and follow her example. One after the other, they stand and bow respectfully as they acknowledge me by saying the word "Alpha" in unison

I would be lying if I said I'm not impressed by what Victoria did. I wonder how she managed to convince all of them to meet the Alpha that they and their superiors hate with passion. Unless of course, they agreed to attend the meeting because they thought they could easily kill me if they all worked together.

I scoff

'Well, let's see what you all got.' I thought as I walked to the center of the room...

"Please sit," I say and they all sit except for my men who are standing behind me like a wall.

"This meeting was called because my men and I discovered an imminent threat to this pack's security. But before I say anything further on that, any one of you that doesn't want to be here or doesn't really accept me as their Alpha is free to leave right now." I waited a while for someone to stand up and leave but nobody did.

Then I continue

"I promise, it will be better if you leave now than to have me kill you if you stand against me later."

After some seconds of waiting for them to make up their minds about being with me or against me, someone finally indicates by first raising his hand before standing up.
