Fated Tó The Evil Viking Chapter 165

Seeing the drama going on around us, Evelyn begins shedding her crocodile tears to gather pity from the people. After a while, she stands and begins to slowly walk toward where I'm sitting beside Alpha Nate...

"I warned Knox about him!" She cries out for all to hear. "I warned him not to trust the bastard who has always been jealous of his real son but he wouldn't listen to me. He said they were both his sons and wanted to be fair since they both came on the same day.

He was a good father to you, Thor! Despite the fact that you're just a bastard, he still allowed you to lead the pack just because you're the first son. So is this how you pay him back for all he's done for you!... Why are you this evil!?..."

She cries on and on as if the Alpha's position was handed to me by my dad and I didn't fight and won a duel against her son in the presence of millions of humans, shifters, and vampires.

I stop watching Evelyn's drama that's obviously not meant for me but for the cameras and people watching us. Let her continue to perform for them. My gaze drifts to where the patrol members are sitting. They look angry. I don't need a seer to tell me why.

They pledged their allegiance to me. Trusted and followed me despite all they'd heard about me. Now, they feel I betrayed their trust. They feel I've shamed them in the presence of the elders they went against because of me.

Malik, the one who first pledged his allegiance to me among the patrol members, looks at me for a while before his lips curve up in a slight smile. He doesn't look to me like he believes the drama going on inside the courtroom. We look at each other till I give him a conspiratory wink and he nods back in reply. He's a smart wolf and I like that about him.

Next, I look in Carol and Victoria's direction. I want to know their reactions to what the judge said. If they are part of the plan and already know about Owen being alive, they won't be surprised by what the judge said. They will feel smug about their little win.

Victoria is crying softly like I just broke her heart while Carol is consoling her. She looks like she wants to kill me. I look away from the mother and daughter and see some of the people are already out of their seats and coming towards me threateningly. The judge is obviously enjoying the scene and the court officers act as if they're blind to what is going on around us.

"What the fuck is happening in here!" Alpha Nate says in disbelief before he starts to loudly call the asshole judge's attention...

"Your honor! Your honor! There should be an order in the court! Call them to order right now, what the fuck do you think you're doing!?" He shouts furiously

The judge and Alpha Nate glare at each other for some seconds before he reluctantly picks up his gavel, banging it furiously on his desk...

"Order!... I understand that you all are angry and disappointed but I implore you to keep calm and return to your seats right now. We're not done! Return to your seat, now!..."

I laugh at the drama and the judge's stupidity that I'm going to make him regret later.

"Implore!?... Seriously!?... He's begging them now, can you believe this guy!? " I say to Alpha Nate

"I'm going to file a complaint against him after today. You just stay calm and bear with me, it will soon be over."

When the court is finally calm, the asshole judge turns to Alpha Nate...

"Counselor, you're an Alpha, true but do I need to remind you that, in here, you're an attorney and it is pertinent that you mind your language towards the judge presiding over your case!?...

This is my courtroom! I am the authority here and therefore decide when an order needs to be restored, do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, your honor. I'm sorry if you feel..."

"Moving on..." He rudely interrupts while Alpha Nate is still speaking.

"God! I'm going to report him for professional misconduct and make sure he gets fired!" Alpha Nate says stiffly

"You bet," I say and chuckle in amusement as I continue to watch judge asshole talk.

"As I was saying, in exchange for a lesser sentence, Mr. Quinn agreed to plead guilty to the crime of murdering his father Alpha Knox Quinn. Even though part of our agreement was to keep the evidence away from all of you..."

"Objection your honor! Whatever we discuss in the chamber should remain in the chamber..."

"Sit your ass down, Counselor! Now!..." judge asshole bellows out in anger

"What is this!?... You can only object to disallow a witness's testimony during a trial, Counselor, not to me, the judge! Do I need to remind you that your client already waived his right to a jury trial and pleaded guilty to the crime for a lesser sentence because of the damning evidence against him!?"

He turned to Evelyn's lawyer then...

"Counsellor, please help out your opposing party here. He's been home too long, it seems he's forgotten everything about our shifter's law..." He says sarcastically and Evelyn's minions laugh scornfully.

"If a defendant waives his/her right to a jury trial, the judge will be the trier of fact in his case. Yes or No?" He asks

Evelyn's lawyer stands up majestically to answer the question...

"Yes, your honor. It is called a bench trial. After considering the evidence and the law, it is the judge's responsibility to render a verdict."

"Thanks, Counselor, you may sit," He says smugly with his eyes on Alpha Nate.

"Any other silly objections from you after this, I'm holding you in contempt of court. Do we understand each other!?"

"Yes... Your honor!" Alpha Nate replies forcefully. I know he's boiling with anger. I really give him credit for the ability to stay calm under such circumstances

"As I was saying before I was rudely interrupted. Even though the defendant's team wants the evidence to be kept away from all of you. I felt, if I'm going to be giving him a lesser sentence then, it's logical you all hear the evidence against him..." He finished saying and turned to the court officer

"You can bring in the witness now, thank you."

"I told you they won't be able to resist, didn't I?" I whisper to Alpha Nate and he chuckles

"They're indeed so predictable." He replies

The people practically stop breathing after hearing what the judge said. There's pin-drop silence. They can't wait to find out the identity of my nemesis. I must confess, I can't wait to see the bastard's face myself.

While we all eagerly wait for the witness. Because of the silence in the court, I'm able to feel Eric's presence. I glance back in the direction the vibe is coming from and for a brief moment our eyes meet and he smiles at me before I turn away.

He was sitting on the last bench and directly in front of him, sitting in another row is my dad.

'Relax... Don't be scared. Big brother Eric is here. You will soon be free of the big bad judge.' He seriously says through our mind link, making me laugh.

"Fuck you, idiot!" I say to him and chuckles

I didn't realize I said that out loud until Alpha Nate turned to me

"Don't let the lunatic hear you. Keep your voice down! He might have his werewolf senses on you know"

"I wasn't talking to him," I say, pointing to my head so he will understand I was talking out loud through the mind link.

Just as I'm about to tell him that my dad is already in the court with us, the door beside the judge's chamber opens, letting two court police in with Owen who is smartly dressed in a three-piece suit.
