Fated Tó The Evil Viking Chapter 83

"Your heart was beating so loud it was deafening. Fuck, Eric! I could barely hear myself talk with the manner your heart was beating dum, dum, dum..." Thor continues to mock me.

He turns to Henrik and Ivar for confirmation.

"You guys also heard his heart beating so wildly didn't you?"

"Loud and clear," Henrik replies

"Yes Alpha, I sure did,'' Ivar responds while laughing at the same time.

There's no stopping Thor whenever he's in the mood to roast me and today happens to be one of those days. Whenever he's in the mood like today, he would always make sure to forcefully drag Henrik and Ivar to his corner, making it three against my poor one since Bear who is the youngest of the five of us would never be caught dead insulting his Alpha, jokes or not.

The funniest part is, I always hit the three of them as hard as they hit me but not today. I don't dare battle words with him in the state that he is. I'm afraid I would say something that would upset and send him over the edge.

Werewolves that have gone feral act wild, violent, and bloodthirsty. They can no longer be rational in their thinking. They can no longer be humorous or have the ability to appreciate jokes. Even though I'm shocked to see Thor roasting me and cracking jokes. I act like all is well.

I just sit and laugh while the three of them make me the butt of their jokes. They make fun of me being a pussy. They jump around me, clucking and flapping their arms to emphasize how I'm such a chicken. I don't mind, as long as it keeps Thor sane and entertained.

"You all are a bunch of dick heads," I say after a while then stand up when I remember I promised Uncle Knox I would call him. The problem now is how to get away from Thor without questions asked

"Hey, what happened to my phone? I can't find it anywhere?" Thor suddenly asks, presenting me with the perfect excuse to get away from him.

"Oh, yes, your phone. I've been wondering about it myself since I didn't notice it anywhere. Hold on, let me go search for you." I reply and quickly make my exit before he suggests I stay and allow someone else to do the searching.

When I arrived outside, I sent Timothy to go get another phone for him since I had no intention of giving him his phone back. It contains pictures and videos of Ash that I can't let him see but don't have the heart to delete. I'll return the phone to him in a month after we've successfully gotten rid of Miranda.

I arrive at my room and hurriedly dial Uncle Knox's number before Thor thinks to come looking for me. It looks as if Uncle Knox has been waiting, anticipating my call to come since he answers immediately.

"Uncle Knox," I say in greeting

"I know the impeachment is bullshit but that knucklehead son of mine can be foolish sometimes!" He angrily says.

"What the hell was he thinking, threatening the Elders of his pack when he knew he was live on TV!? And who in hell advised him to wear those damn sunglasses while having a meeting with the Elders for pete's sake?

He looked like an irresponsible rouge! How could he sit in front of the Council Elders with such an attitude? Was he high on drugs!?... And why the fuck has he not called me!? Didn't you tell him I called and asked about him? Does he still remember he has a father at all...?"

Uncle Knox rants on and on till he finally loses steam. Since yesterday after the duel, a lot has happened to Thor and his mate that I don't even know where to begin from.

"Uncle Knox, a lot has happened ever since we left the estate. A lot has happened to Thor and..."

"A lot like what!? Didn't you tell me he was okay when we spoke earlier!? Talk boy and stop dilly-dallying already!"

I take a deep breath as I prepare myself for what is coming next. I know what I'm about to tell him would hit him hard.

"Thor has gone feral Uncle." I soften my voice to break the news as gently as I can. Yeah, like that would help to lessen the effect of the shock I just dropped on him.

He didn't reply immediately after I broke the bad news. The silence at the other end of the phone only stretches out for a few seconds but feels like forever to me. But why isn't he saying anything? What is going through his mind? God, I pray he's not about to have another heart attack.

When he finally speaks, his tone of voice is low and in denial.

"Thor has gone feral?... But that is nonsense! What nonsense are you talking about, Eric? Why would my son go mad!? He fought the duel yesterday morning! I watched the Duel on TV myself. I watched him beat the crap out of Justin like he was beating a child! He won! He's the Alpha now and should be celebrating!... Why would he go feral instead of celebrating!?"

His last question was growled so loud I quickly held the phone away from my ears so his explosive voice wouldn't rupture my eardrum.

"Uncle, we believe..."

"Was that why he wore the sunglasses during the impeachment? To cover the evil eyes?" He cut me off mid-sentence

"Yes sir..."

"Goddess!..." His voice cracks with emotions then. "And here I am, blaming and calling him names when he was only trying so hard." He sounded sad and full of regret I wish I was with him to comfort him.

"Tell me Eric, how did this happen?... All my life, I have never seen a shifter suddenly go feral, or have you?... Have you ever seen such in Denmark?"

"No sir, I haven't."

"Then what happened!?... Why now!?... A wolf doesn't just go feral within a twinkle of an eye, it's a gradual wild process! Tell me, Eric, how come he was okay yesterday when he left for the duel and today he's suddenly feral when we're supposed to be celebrating!?"

"We believe it was as a result of sorcery uncle. After..."

"Sorcery? From who? Is it Evelyn? That bitch! I'm too to kill her this time..."

He doesn't allow me to finish before he interrupts, rapidly asking questions that I would've eventually explained if he had been patient enough to hear me out.

"Uncle?... Uncle Knox, calm down let me...!"

"What!?... Was that why you were asking me about Evelyn?"

"Yes! Just that I'm not sure if Evelyn is directly involved in this. I asked about her because I wanted to compare your situation with Evelyn and Aunt Viveka to Thor and his mate."

"Eric, the more you open your mouth, the more you confuse me. What has Thor and his mate got to do with Thor going feral and how does it compare to my situation with Viveka and Evelyn?" He growls out in frustration

"Okay, let me take it at the top, so you'll understand better... The thing is Thor no longer recognizes his mate." I say and hear as he takes a sharp intake of breath.

"He now recognizes another she-wolf as his mate and calls the usurper by Ash's name. Even though he no longer remembers his mate, he knows an important part of him is missing and he's frustrated because he can't remember what it is. That's basically what is driving him feral.

"Who is the usurper!? Which she-wolf has the guts to do that to my son?... Which pack does she belong to!?" He asks coldly. His voice is so chilling I feel goosebumps all over me.
