I was hopeful. But when the person doesn't wanna show up, then you will never really see who you’re looking for.
My legs hurt too because of the heels. And there were a lot of friends who invited me to their group so I chose to just leave. I called my bodyguard while going out the house.
I was even able to say goodbye to those in the garden and pool area. They are teasing me because of how early I'm going home.
"Yes, I'll just wait for you outside."
I sighed and turned off the call. I'm really so fvcked up right now! If only I knew that Erato's gonna be here tonight then I should have not made out with anyone else!
Maybe I was the one watching over him and trying to catch whoever he was kissing tonight.
A cold breeze touched my skin, I caressed my two shoulders because of the cold I felt. I went straight down to get to the gutter, but I saw a tall man's posture there.
One clear look at it and my eyes went big.
How many times will I be cursing tonight? What is he doing here?
"Erato?" I confusedly uttered.
He was in the dark part because of the bushes in the upper part. He looked at me and I could clearly see the annoyance in his eyes. He had both hands clasped and just stood there as if waiting for someone.
"I thought you're going home?"
It says emphatically. I couldn't answer right away because my focus was on his annoyed face but he was very handsome.
"U-uhm, yes I'm going home."
"40 fvckin minutes? Did you had overtime in your whore duties?"
My brows furrowed. I was a little offended with his term. The nerve of him, he is the manwhore here!
"What do you mean? I'm inside looking for you, do I even know you're here?"
"I came outside because you said you're going home. I waited here for almost an hour, are you that dumb Jade?"
I blinked fast. I don't know which part of what he said seemed to turn my stomach upside down. Is it the part that he waited for me or the fact that he came outside because I said I'm going home?
I bit the inside of my cheeks, I bowed down and hid the smile. But I also immediately adjusted myself and stared at him and returned his serious expression.
"I'm sorry, I thought you were still inside."
"Tss." He rolled his eyes as he looked away from me.
"I called my driver. I'm really going home, so please ... d-don't tell Dad."
I'm a little embarrassed mentioning it. Not because of that certain thing but because it reminds of how he saw me a while ago. He glanced at me again.
This time his eyes lingered a little longer, I couldn't help but wonder what he meant by that. I felt a little awkward and intimidated the way he looks at me like as if he's really checking me out.
Like hello! The stars will kneel first before my dreams come true. He chuckled without humor. The silence was broken when the car suddenly stopped on the road. My driver! I hope I texted him first so I can have more time with him, this is a once in blue moon experience!
I still didn't move from where I was standing and stared at him. Waiting to see if there is anything more to say or something good will happen tonight.
I was a little surprised when he approached the car and knocked on the passenger seat window. He said something to my body guard but I never heard back.
Just a seconds after, he looked at me, still with his annoyed looking face. The back seat door opened. I stopped for a few more minutes but recovered quickly.
I walked quickly to get into the car, I even inhaled his scent, in the depths of my mind I was celebrating that he simply opened the door for me.
"Straight home. Behave, from now on."
"U-uh ..."
My heart couldn't beat because his face was so close to mine, I couldn't answer because he immediately told my driver to leave. Even with the tinted windows his gaze are straight looking into me. I don’t know if it was just a coincidence but I didn’t let go of that look until he was out of my sight.
I took a glance of my driver. It seems like a normal night. A normal day, but for me ...
I closed the window and suppressed a smile that I didn’t know would ever fade.
I'm so head over heels of you Erato, if you only knew.
"Jade!"
Olivia's annoying voice woke me from my daydream. Nope, it's not a dream. It really did happen. It's been weeks since that night happened. And Jade ? Still living the dream.
"What is your problem Olivia?"
I asked her a clear and calm question. She grinned and almost hit me with that question.
"My problem? You're asking me what is my problem? Hey girl! You just called me in the middle of my beauty rest just so you can have someone with you and now here I am talking to myself!"
I stared at him and laughed. As he frowned.
"Life is so beautiful Olivia, live by it."
I just put down my phone so that she can stop her mouth.
“You should be thankful that I don't have a choice but to deal with your shits Jade. "
"Muah." I blandly said.
She stared at me.
"So as I was saying, I've heard about the successful partnership of the Li's."
I didn’t answer, just waited for her to continue what she said. I watched the people outside the cafe pass by.
"And?"
"I've heard it from mom and Jax this morning."
"So?"
She frowned and lowered his frappe.
"So it'll be possible for them to open doors because of that partnership! I won't be surprised if one day they decide a marriage for convenience for their off-springs."
