I remained unresponsive and he noticed that. I don't even have any idea why she's talking about business, partner stuff all of a sudden.
"And you're telling me that because?"
"What do you mean because? It's the Asterial and the Li's!"
My ears throbbed and it was like a flip that caught my attention.
"Oh- Asterial, yeah, of course!"
She shook her head because of my reaction.
"What made you think that Asterial will just gave their off-springs away? They are rich enough to have that marriage of convenience."
I shook my head because what Olivia is saying is impossible. She made face and I smirked more.
The Asterial couple has three children. Erato is the youngest in their family, he's not obliged to set a foot into their business because he's not the successor of the Asterial empire.
Obviously he's the youngest, so he's lost his way. He has the courage to go crazy because he is not the heir. I smiled timidly thinking about what happen few weeks ago.
I rarely saw him because he was busy starting class. He's graduating and really occupied so I had the initiative to stay away first. Although, I admit sometimes I intentionally go to their building just to have a glimpse of him.
The ending, my ID was confiscated.
"And besides, everybody knows that Erato is rebellious as fvck. The only responsibility he'll have is to take care of me."
Olivia almost spit out the frappe she drank.
"Go on Jade, dream on!"
Some days I would get offended, but this time no. Thinking about what happened weeks ago, I winked at her.
The heat is surprisingly making me grumpy. I’m currently fanning myself because I just finished PE. And I hate PE!
I took academic strand and here I am sweating my ass off! Like as if I don't work out and I need to do some push ups and stretching when you apply for work. Damn it.
"Water, Jade?" Said Aiden.
I accepted what he handed me with his tumbler. I forgot to bring my hydro flask today, I easily jug his water.
"Thanks."
He wiped the side of my lips before receiving his tumbler. I just ignored it and continued looking at the entire oval. I hope PE is just swimming. I hate it when I get sweaty and sticky with all that exercises. And I hate wearing jogging pants and shirts, not my thing.
"So who are you planning to be your escort?"
I side eyed Aiden when he asked me. He's talking about my upcoming debut. Not really planning to have a big celebration but knowing Dad, I doubt if he'll let me have my party simple. I wanted to have an in house party but of course I wanted to leave decision to my dad.
"You know who's who, Aiden."
I said as a matter of fact.
"Why? Did he even agreed?"
He provoked me.
"And if he didn't? Jax will be my escort."
I smiled at him. I saw his slight surprised expression. This guy ... I thought I made everything clear between us?
Okay fine, I'm slightly triggered about what he said. It's true that I haven't asked Erato if I can be his escort for my debut, but it's okay. If he won't accept my request then he'll be my first dance. Or even if he just agreed to go to my birthday is okay with me.
"I'll send the invitations, you'll be one of my 18 roses."
I don't know what's up to me. I grew up being the only kid in the house, being surrounded with grown up people and such. Home schooled in lower grade.
So sometimes I think that I seem to have been deprived of my childhood so now that the world I live in is bigger I don't seem to be spared.
I don't want to be rude to anyone. I guess my only enemy is Olivia. And for me it's not plasticity, it's just that I choose who I invest my emotions into. Why should I be angry or annoyed with people who are not important to me? That's why everyone is my friend, well for me at least.
"You're too friendly, Jade."
My older brother Jax once commented to me one day after I drove my friend out of the mansion. I didn't do it again because it was wrong for me to take my whole section to the mansion. And to the fact that my dad is the governor, it's really a dumb decision.
"Wow! Thank you huh?"
Aiden sarcastically uttered beside me. I looked at him confused.
"Tell it straight to my face, Jade. Is it really the end for the both of us? Cause if that's what you really want then I'll court Trisha."
I gasped.
"Why do I feel like it's my fault, Aiden? I told you already, I only see you as a friend and I don't want to ruin the friendship that we have. Well, so now that you've said it then go on ! I don't have any problem with you courting Trisha. The hell! "
I walked out before he could even say something. I am so mad right now. Boys! Why do they always think that it's the girls responsibility to say yes. Shouldn't we be thankful for not pretending? Busted if you’re basted!
I texted Olivia.
Me:
I'm skipping class. If Ms. Lopez looked for me, you say I’m in the clinic.
I walked down the hallway to the locker room to change into a uniform. I wanted to have a shower also but I'm too grumpy to think if I should do it or not.
"Having a bad day?"
I was about to enter the locker room when I heard that voice.
"Hey Seb,"
I greet him, I think he just came from their locker room next to the girls locker room because he was carrying her gym bag and his hair was a bit wet. He smiled at me, approached me for a little reason so I didn't immediately enter our locker room.
