Fond of Erato Chapter 26

When you are hurt, you won't even notice the tears and pain he has brought to you. Because who cares? He's the reasons of your smiles after all.

"Congratulations dear!" Aunt congratulated me - Olivia and my brother Jax's mom.

Today is the day of the graduation. Yes. I didn't even notice.

With overlapping requirements it all seemed like a blink of an eye. I'm not excited with the graduation itself but the fact that after all of these is a good and relaxing vacation. Summer!

"Congratulations too, Connor." Auntie greets dad with formality.

Daddy laughed and thanked. He returned the greeting to Olivia and older brother, Jax.

Everyone is in haste. Well at least not for me.

My brother Jaxon is graduating college while me and Olivia is graduating senior high. We didn't plan for an after party but we'll have a vacation in a few days as a celebration. We'll be visiting some of our resorts in Visayas and of course for our leisure.

There was also a simple banquet in the mansion but that was only for the workers there. I'm looking forward for some night outs you know? But, of course. No one will send invites maybe because everyone is busy celebrating with their own families.

"I told you Connor. Don't force your son with something he doesn't want to do." Short conversation \ by daddy and aunt when we're about just to leave.

How come daddy once again opened the topic about my older brother Jax that he should really continue the campaign because he is a graduate.

"I've been preaching your son for a long time. And he knew exactly the reason why I'm forcing him." Daddy said.

"Dad just stop please."

My older brother insisted on the side as we walked, looking at a row of cars parked by the driver.

"Exactly, Jax is my son and so I also have the rights to decide for him."

"Oh please." Dad rolled his eyes obviously offended.

"Don't include Jax into that messy and dirty political career of yours."

Auntie said emphatically and got into the car opened by their driver. Dad did not respond. Me and Olivia looked at each other. We obviously got the meaning of each other at a glance.

Older brother and Olivia followed auntie while my eyes are still fixed on dad.

My heart is suddenly feeling hurt seeing that scene. It's true. Politics is really a dirty matter to deal with. But dad is different isn't he?

"Let's go, Jade."

I entered the car and while inside I'm still feeling bothered about their short conversation.

"If only I knew how politics work dad, you won't have to deal with this problem anymore." I uttered.

He frowned at what I said.

"There's no way in this world I'll let you do politics, Jade."

"Of course. I'm just concluding." I shrugged

Arriving at the university is the only moment I felt surreal. It was as if I had just entered my system that this year would be over. Next year I'm in the other chapter of my life.

Fortunately, when they got there, it looked like they were okay, aunt and daddy. Well, what else can I expect? That is why they separated because they did not get along so well.

There's a lot of people and acquaintances of the graduates. It's a very unusual scene at our university. On a normal day it was just students but now there are so many parents.

We took pictures with our family and of course with some friends while we're not still inside the venue. From time to time I look at older brother Jax because I know sooner or later I'll find what I'm looking for.

"Aiden!" Olivia called.

That grabbed my attention. Like us, he's also wearing the all royal blue graduation gown which signifies that we are a senior high graduates. He enthusiastically greeted dad as well as Jax and Auntie.

Dad turned to me once more and formally greeted Aiden as well. I feel like he means something he thinks that.

"Yeah, after party tonight. With some relatives and friends. Of course, you knew grandpa, a lot of friends being in politics."

Aiden keeps on flexing the after party at their house tonight. It's not the after party I'm looking forward too so I'm not interested. For sure that'll be all hypocrisy and fake people. Tss.

"You idiot, hurry up."

I heard brother Jax talking. I immediately turned to him thinking my suspicion was correct but I saw he was just talking on the phone. Can't help but to feel disappointed.

"Erato?"

I asked Jax since he caught me eaves dropping. He blinked as he pocketed the cellphone.

"Really Jade? I thought you were done with that puppy love?"

My brows furrowed at what he just said. Puppy love? Well maybe before! But now?

"Now that we're leaving this univ. I hope you'll end that infatuation of yours okay?"

"What are you even saying? It's good that you’re graduating and I won't see you again."

I struggled to leave in front of him. I was just disgusted with what he was telling me. Is that how they always think of me? Child? What if they knew what I was going to do?

A few more minutes and the staffs are saying that we need to get inside the venue because the program will be starting. I can't help but to feel anxious because Erato is still not here.

"Damn, finally. The asshole is here."

I gasped and immediately turn my head. I looked for the car I thought he was riding in, but in the amount of cars there I found no Erato.

Something different caught my attention though. A guy in a big bike wearing a suit with all that black helmet in his head. My hurt thumped in awe, I couldn't move and was just waiting for that person to reveal his face.

The scene is so astonishing. My mouth went agape as I looked at the man casually parking the bike under the shade of a tree.
