"Can I have some lime, please?" my voice was soft as I said that.
I held a few more shots that I never counted. I'm not yet drunk, don't get me wrong. A friend of theirs handed me the plate of lime and I took it, he joked and I gave him what he wanted to hear so some of his friends laughed. I took the shot, my face was still a bit damaged because of the bitterness of the alcohol they were drinking.
Damn these guys.
"Jade, that's your last," said older brother Jax.
I rolled my eyes even though I hadn’t seen him yet. He was behind me and standing while blowing thick smoke from his vape. Earlier he was talking on the phone so he stood up. Now we are in a different position, Ali is next to me while Erato is a little farther away from me. He was at the other end, facing the sea, while I was at the back.
"I'm not that weak, brother." I answered without facing him. I just heard him hissed.
"Yes, bro. Let go of Jade. So what if your sister is drunk? We're here," Ali said.
I smirked and picked up the cup of chaser. I don't think my older brother can scold me because I have many allies who are burning here. For sure, he didn't want to embarrass me. Ali even whispered to me that I was his ally so I laughed a little because he looked like a child. I nodded and vibe with the loud beat of the song. I was not aware of the time but I could feel the depths of the night.
"Hey Ali, you even beat a leech to get close to Jade, stay away you idiot," his older brother scolded here as a reason for me to turn away from him.
I scolded him so he would know he was rude. He just raised an eyebrow at me and blew smoke again endlessly. Ali laughed out loud and even got into trouble with another friend's fire. The group seemed to be divided because at the other end the conversation was different and in our place we were closer to each other so we were the only ones who listened.
I moved forward on my seat so I can get a view of Erato. He's just casually sitting at the end while looking at their table. Compared to his friends he was quiet. I'm not sure if he’s out of mood but I always saw him with that kind of expression so I assume he's not.
"I'll get your number." Ali whispered.
I even brought my face closer to him from looking at Erato because I couldn’t really hear what he was saying because of the dominant bass of the music. I giggled when I realized what he just said. I shook my head and Ali understood differently.
He whispered again, "Why not?"
"I don't know my number."
"Then get mine."
I stopped giggling because he wasn’t really going to stop. I grabbed my hair and placed it on my left shoulder because the effect of the fluid on my system was kicking too much. I backed away a bit as I felt Ali's breath touch my skin.
"I don't have my phone with me."
He pouted jokingly and shook his head. The shot was handed to me again so I couldn't help but appeal.
"Hey! I just had mine." I laughed.
I turned around to ask my older brother for more but he was no longer there, maybe someone was talking on the phone again.
"We have our own cycle, Jade." Bry laughed as he handed me the plate of lime. I can't believe I'm actually having some liquor rush in here.
I though this will be a boring trip, but not at all! I took the shot again and sip the lime after, my face cringe because of mix bitterness and sourness. I felt Ali taking the lime and I was surprised because from my mouth he sucked on it. My brow furrowed. This guy be like flirting with me huh?
"Then you go! You making me a servant, you fools."
The other group is having its own commotion. The scenario is Cali’s denial of what while plainly swearing at him by friends. My eyes went into Erato and he's still on the same posture. He’s easy to notice in their group because he is the only one quiet in all the commotion.
"Oh shit," I whispered to my self.
He fvckin looked straight on my eyes like as if he knew that he'll caught me looking at him. I immediately averted my gaze and turned to my companions.
"You buy the ice, why me?" Cali frowned as he opened another bottle of wine.
"Bro, you were told to buy ice but went back bring Jade instead, why are you sulky now?"
Cali took a glance of me and smirked, he even winked at me. I smiled back because of his awkwardness.
"At least, there's chick here already." his reasoning fueled by other comrades. The poke of fun is almost starting because of Cali's statement when Erato suddenly stood up and cut off everyone's noise,
"I’ll do it." he said.
"Huh? Don't worry bro, it's Cali." when a friend weaned him.
"Fuck, there's no Asterial-Asterial here, let him buy ice." Said Cali.
I bit my lips as I looked at him. I feel like he's not in a good mood since I came here. I shook my head lightly to ease the drowsy feeling inside my head. I turned my gaze back to him and without a word he turned his back on the group.
I knew I was going to do it right away but it seemed like something was stopping me from doing that. My dizzy head won't cooperate with me, so even so I forced myself to fight it to follow him. Ali called me, I ignored them and followed my aim. As before, my path was dark. I slowly trail the rectangular concrete that are aligned with each other. On the side was the thick clump of plants that I didn’t realize.
"Shit," I cussed because I stepped into something squishy.
It was too dark, accompanied by my blurred eyes and dizzy system. I looked ahead and saw Erato still walking broadly, I could almost see his apparition because at the end there was light from the crowded part of the resort.
"Oh gosh," I screamed a little when I, again stepped into something weird leading me to loose my balance.
I looked up again, I sighed when I saw that Erato is out of frame again. I looked back and went back to the front as well. I have walked a long way, it is tiring when I come back.
"I think I'll just wait for him here," I said to myself.
"Why don't you just go back?"
"Holy shit!" I jumped out of fear when I hear his deep voice.
He was already in front of me and even in the dark my eyes suddenly seemed to light up because I could see his angry eyes.
"What the fvck, Erato? You scared the hell out of me!" I sat on my chest.
