After we all talked, Samantha went back to what she was doing. Karen resumes her work at the pack. I was about to return to my office when Karen called my name. I immediately turned to face her.
“Alpha, I want to remind you about this. I heard a big celebration for all of the Alpha in this world. It's mandatory to go there.”
“Are you sure about that?”
Karen nodded at me.
“Yeah, that's why I need to inform you so early. The Nightwalkers might be there.”
“I don't care about them. And I wasn't scared of them at all.”
“That's good to hear. And I think you shouldn't bring Almera with you since she is pregnant. She needs to take care of herself.”
I nodded. Karen was right all along. Almera might be in danger if she forced herself to go with me. I don't want that to happen; I want to protect her, even if it caused my life.l
“Yeah, thank you for reminding me of that. I forgot I couldn't bring Almera with me since she was pregnant.”
“You can bring Adam; I don't mind.” She suggested, which made me chuckle.
“Karen, I don't want something terrible to happen to Adam. I want him to stay here in my pack to make them safe.”
“Alpha Leah, you couldn't hide Adam for so long. He needs to be aware of his surroundings. I wasn't asking that you should make him your Beta, but what I am telling you is Almera won't like the idea that it was only the two of us who protected you. She would make sure that someone might replace her. She doesn't like it if something bad happens to you.”
“I understand.” Until now, I couldn't believe that Adam had mated Karen.
“Okay, I need to check the different packs. I need to create another report for you.” I glared at Karen when she mentioned the reports again.
Hours passed, and I heard Almera yelling at her mate. She was too pissed that she woke up in the hospital. I am thankful that I was done with all the piles of papers.
I took some food to have dinner, and I watched Almera crying so hard because of Kairo. I know that she was pregnant, and she's emotional, but it looks like Kairo was too tired by her.
“What is happening here? Almera, why are you acting this way?” I pulled her to tap her back. Tears flowed down her cheeks.
Kairo aggressively grasped his hair. He was more frustrated that Almera was acting like a kid in front of him.
“This jerk brings me to the hospital! I don't want it.”
“Almera, it's for your good. Kairo was concerned about you since you're a little bit emotional. We want to make sure that you're fine and you aren't stressed.”
“Of course not! I wasn't stressed, Alpha Leah. I just hated it when he decided without informing me. I was shocked when I woke up; I was in the hospital.”
“Almera, you shouldn't be mad at your mate. I was the one who ordered him to bring you there. He had no choice but to obey me.” Almera's mouth hung open after I told her about it.
“When you're in my office, I heard a small heartbeat in your lower abdomen. That's why I immediately asked Kairo to bring you there, so we need to be aware if you are pregnant or not.”
“It's my fault, okay? He thought you would get mad after this, but I was too persistent to know the truth. I am sorry that I stepped outside my boundaries. You wanted to protect me. I want to protect you too.” I added.
Almera stomped on the floor, but after she cried so hard, she went to her mate and gave him an aggressive kiss. My face turned sour when I saw them having an intimate together in front of me.
“Okay, I understand now. Thank you, Alpha Leah.” She happily told me while embracing Kairo as if someone might snatch him away from her.
“You don't need to thank me. And I think you should be sorry for Kairo.” I am thankful that Almera and Kairo are all right now. I am too envious of their relationship, and what made me dumbfounded was I was thinking of Alpha Brandon all night.
One week turned into two weeks that I didn't even see Alpha Brandon. It felt like I had lost someone more important to me than to Amoux. I wanted to mourn, for I think Alpha Brandon was trying to forget me now. And it's my fault because I was the one who pushed him to do this. I deserve it.
“Almera was lucky to have Kairo,” Karen commented. I did an event in our pack, and I was thinking about those people who didn't even locate their mates. I let those single members in my two packs go in the Red Moon Pack to find their mates.
“Did you think too? I felt that Kairo was too lucky to have Almera by his side.” I started, which made Karen nod to me. She agreed with me too.
“Yeah, even though Almera was too liberated.” We both laughed when Karen told it.
“Why don't you join them as well? You looked brokenhearted in the past two weeks.” I scowled when Karen started to notice me. She was too observant. Karen wasn't talkative, unlike Almera.
“Please, don't mind me. I'm happy enough that you're all happy here in the pack.”
“You're lying.”
“Okay, I was lying, okay! I have confessed now. Are you happy now?”
“I would be happier if you'll be frank with yourself, Alpha Leah. If you missed Alpha Brandon, why don't you go into his pack and tell him what you feel?”
“I wish it would be too easy like how you told me. I am scared to have a relationship with him; I don't want to hurt him. Have you forgotten that Amoux was my mate?”
“I know that he was your mate. But, I think even though he was your mate, you loved Alpha Brandon. I'm not telling you this because I want him to be with you but because I think you'll be happy with him.”

“Yeah, that's why I think. Maybe, Amoux was your mate, but he didn't guarantee you would be happy with him. He wanted the throne severely, and he was too self-centered, unlike Alpha Brandon.”
“I don't think that Alpha Brandon will accept me again. I hurt him so many times.”
“If you aren't sure, why don't you ask him instead? I know that he was more willing to answer you.” I stopped when Karen smirked at me. She pointed her finger at my back which made me glare at her.
“He was waiting for you. Why don't you ask him today since he was here to talk to you.” She added.
“Please, Karen. This isn't funny at all. If you're tripping me, I will be mad at you even though Adam would be furious with me.”
“Calm your pussy; I wasn't tripping you; Alpha Brandon was here. He was at the entrance when I saw him. He told me that he wanted to surprise you, and he even questioned me if you were still mad at him.” My mouth hangs open when Almera explains everything to me. I turned around, and I saw Alpha Brandon standing while he was staring at me.
I slowly swallowed when I felt my eyes forming tears. My heart ached, beating so fast, when Alpha Brandon started to walk in my direction. I gasped when I felt my heart want to jump out of my ribcage.
“Alpha Leah, you should calm your pussy. I want to remind you to have protected sex; Almera was pregnant, and you might get pregnant if Aloha Brandon started fucking you.”
I was about to kick Karen when she ran away from me. Damn this woman; I couldn't believe that she talked to me in that way. She wasn't like that!
