Leah's point of view
“Alpha Leah, are you alright? You keep sighing repeatedly.” I glared at Almera when she asked me so many times. I groaned in frustration when I saw her smirking at me. It looks like she was teasing me that I was problematic today.
And I think I don't even need to tell her the actual reason. It's been a week since Alpha Brandon didn't even make me see himself. And it's been a week since Almera bullied me because of him.
I thought that I would be happy that I didn't even see Alpha Brandon. I wished that he was busy managing his pack. I never thought that I would be an over-thinker because of him.
“Almera, why are you still here in my office? I observed that you liked to go with me always. I don't want Kairo to be jealous because of me, huh.” I rolled my eyes at her, and I focused my eyes on the paper that I was reading.
“I don't understand myself. How you looked amusing when you're problematic about your fuck buddy.” Almera sarcastically said. She was telling the truth; I realized she would do everything to be with me. I even heard Kairo complaining that Almera wasn't want to have sex with him.
I was trying to calm down when I heard a tiny heartbeat. I immediately stopped when I glanced at Almera, who had fries in her mouth. I blinked when the slight heartbeat I heard was beating fast.
“Almera, I think you always overeat. What's with you?” I couldn't stop myself from asking her. I couldn't believe that she wasn't aware that she might be pregnant.
“Are you telling me that I am fat? Alpha Leah, it would help if you were thankful that I find you entertaining. I would say to you this, Kairo told me that too. And I kicked him into our room.” I laughed so hard when Almera proudly informed me what she did to her mate.
Alright, I remembered that Kairo was more frustrated this week. He was so exhausted that Almera wanted to have a different meal, even at midnight. Her cravings were too tricky to find, which led to Adam helping Kairo to search for food that didn't exist.
“As if you could kick me out in my pack, Almera. Did you check yourself? There's a full hospital here.”
“I don't even need to check myself, Alpha Leah. I wasn't sick, and I wanted to eat. Is it illegal that I love to eat more? I think it's not. I was too unstable whenever I saw Kairo.”
“And what's the reason for that? Alright, you're my friend, so I am asking you. I don't want you to feel—”
“Of course, I understand that you're too worried about me, and why should I be angry? I am thankful that you're concerned about me.”
“That's good. I wanted to know why you felt irritated with Kairo. He's your mate. I mean, it's a miracle for me because you loved fucking him.”
“I'm not in the mood to have sex with him. I don't know why! Sometimes when his face was grumpy, I felt my blood boiling in anger. But when he gave me the food that I wanted, my anger immediately went away.”
“Oh, I think you must go to the pack hospital. You aren't like that.”
“Alpha Leah, I am healthy! What's the reason for making myself check with the pack doctors? Aside from that, I felt lazy. What I only wanted for now is to watch you while signing those papers. Please, could you please continue it?”
“And what will happen if I don't like it? Almera, I think I should be frank with you. I thought that you were pregnant, and I couldn't believe that you weren't aware of that.” Almera stopped eating, and her eyes expanded in surprise. I shook my head in disbelief when she bit another snack again.
“No! Of course not! Alpha Leah, I don't like this prank!” She started crying while chewing her food. I tapped my forehead, and I groaned in frustration. She was sobbing so loudly, so I began signing the pile of papers which made her stop crying. Shit! This isn't good!
If Almera was pregnant, and she liked to see me signing those piles of papers, I would hurriedly plan a vacation. I don't want to see her constantly, and she acted like a crybaby whenever she wanted something but didn't want to give it.
I would be unlucky if I were the one she always liked to see. I massaged my temple in frustration. I sighed to relax even more, and the more I tried to calm down, the more the tiny heartbeat beat so fast.
“Kairo, where are you? I think Almera needs to go to the full hospital. She needs it; she was too emotional.” I contacted Kairo using the mind link. I don't want them to waste time, as I think they need to find out about it as soon as possible.
“Alpha Leah, what happened to her? I am walking now. Yeah, I realized that she was more sensitive this week. I was too exhausted whenever she was crying. I don't know what to do anymore.” Kairo complained. I want to chuckle but don't want Almera to doubt me. She cried when I told her that she was pregnant, so I thought that it would be best if I would say to it to Kairo.
“She's alright, but I want to congratulate you.”
“Alpha Leah, I don't understand what you're going to tell me. Why are you congratulating me?”
“Well, I think that Almera was pregnant. That's why she was emotional this week. She had terrible cravings, right? Right now, she's with me in my office, but she likes watching me sign many papers.”
Kairo didn't talk, which made my forehead furrow.
“Alpha Leah, are you sure that my mate was pregnant? Oh— did you tell her about it?”
“I told her, but she cried so hard. I don't want her to get emotional. But how did you carry her to make her go to the pack hospital? I think she won't be coming with you to the hospital.”
“That's my problem, now.” I tapped the table, and I gazed again at Almera. She looks like she is enjoying her food so much. She was humming, and her head was moving.
“I have a plan. Go to Samantha, and make her do a potion. Please inform her that Almera might be pregnant so that she will create a safe brew for Almera.”
“Are you sure about this, Alpha Leah? I don't want Almera to get harmed because of her created potion.”
“You don't need to get worried about her. I know that we can trust Samantha about this. Almera needs to lose consciousness so that the pack doctor will run a test on her.” After that, Kairo and I talked more about Almera. Minutes passed when Kairo went to my office; he had juice in his hand. I saw him slowly gulping when Almera laid her eyes on him.
“Babe, you told me that you liked to drink pineapple juice. I will make one for you.” Kairo acted as if he didn't put anything in the pineapple juice. He moved closer to her, but Almera tried to move away from him.
“I do understand. Why did you look ugly in my eyes? Argh!” Almera complained. She took a glass of pineapple juice and tasted it.
“What's the taste? I did that for you.” I heard Kairo nervously ask her. Almera didn't even glance at him again because she was too busy to taste the drink that her mate had made for her.
“It's delicious. I think this was the best drink you did for me.” Almera answered. After that, she started eating again.
“Kairo, did Samantha tell you how many minutes the potions get the effect?” I am nervous that Almera might find out about our plan, so I needed to talk to Kairo using the mind link.
“Yeah, we should wait more minutes. The portions were too slow to effect because she avoided Almera and might suspect us.”
“Okay, I am scared that something terrible might happen to her.”
“You shouldn't be. Almera might be suspicious of us. I think you should calm down first.”
“Okay, once the potion effect, go to the pack hospital immediately. It's up to you if you would tell it to her.”
“But Almera might be mad at me once she found out I carried her to the pack hospital. I don't want to betray her.”
“It's your problem anymore. It's not mine.” I chuckled using the mind link, and I noticed the smile on Kairo's face was automatically removed.
We waited more minutes before Almera slept. I couldn't believe she still had food in her mouth when she closed her eyes. I quickly signaled Kairo to take away Almera before she opened her eyes. I even called Adam and Favio to help him.
“Oh please, pray for me. She will be furious once she discovers I took her to the pack hospital.” Kairo muttered.
Karen was looking too, but there was confusion on her face, unlike Samantha, who looked glad for Almera. Karen walked towards me.
“Alpha Leah, what is happening? Where would they bring Almera? And why did she have food inside her mouth?” I laughed so hard, and Samantha even did the same.
“Okay, I observed that she was too emotional lately. I want to know the truth; I think she might be pregnant.” Karen stopped when she heard what I was telling her. She gasped and even touched her chest.
“I was right all along! I even saw her crying because of my food. Oh my—” Karen almost shouted in happiness. I smiled at her when she jumped, so satisfied.
“That bitch! I couldn't believe that she was the one who got pregnant. She knew how to have sex safely, unlike me.” She added.
