Alpha Brandon and I decided to get to know each other more. Okay, I, too, liked the idea, but I am glad that he finally realized why I was pushing him to manage his pack too well. Sometimes, we were nearby, and sometimes, he cooked food for me. I felt amazed at how great a cook he was.
It's been a week since we started hanging out, and it feels incredible. Okay, there's a part of me that is thinking about Amoux; he's still my mate, after all, but whenever I was with Alpha Brandon, the worry that I felt for Amoux already subsided.
Maybe, it is because of the mate bond that we both have a connection until now. We still didn't reject each other, and I'm still waiting for him to arrive in my pack to leave me. I didn't see Damon; he was too busy to support Amoux.
“What are you doing, Alpha Leah?” I was surprised when I heard Almera's voice. She had a snack again in her hand, took food, and ate it before she went to the chair and sat. I glared at her when I saw her food was too delicious.
I secretly gulped when I watched her eating her food like it was the best she had ever tasted. I even heard her hum so loudly when she started munching the food.
“What are you doing here? Did you know that I am practicing here, and yet you're distracting me with the food that you're eating?” I rolled my eyes when she gave me a smirk.
“You can start practicing, and please don't mind me. I want to see you daily, but I don't know why.”
“Maybe, it's your baby who wants to see me,” I commented. Almera shrugged before she resumed eating the food that she had. I sighed in defeat and turned my gaze away from her.
“Oh, I don't know if it's me, but I think something in your body changed. Your boobs get bigger, and your waist–”
“What are you talking about, Almera? Maybe it's because of the workout?”
“But your cheeks–”
“Are you telling me that I am fat? Seriously, Almera, I don't want to get mad at you, especially since you're pregnant.”
“I am telling you the truth. I don't know why I felt that you're maybe pregnant too.” I stopped punching when Almera told me those words. Fuck, how careless I am; I didn't even know that there was a possibility that I might get pregnant since I was too active in sex.
“I don't think so.” I lied, but in truth, I felt stressed that maybe Almera was right all along. I needed to know it, and I wanted to run to my room to check my calendar and planner. I didn't remember when I was supposed to have my period.
“It's up to you, Alpha Leah. I just told you what I noticed. You're too thin on me, but when you tried to wear my top, it didn't fit you.”
“Maybe, I gained a lot since I loved eating a lot of food lately.” I reasoned out. Almera bit the chips she had, and when I saw how she munched them, I swallowed so hard.
“I noticed the food that you eat has changed too. You loved eating food with a lot of cheese, but now you don't like it. Why don't you go to the pack hospital to have someone check on you?” I stopped when I noticed her tone. Almera became stern, which was too odd for me. She was like that when we were talking about Amoux, for I know she still loathed him until now.
“I think you're pregnant, but who's the father of your child? Alpha Leah, I know you and Alpha Brandon we're fine now. You both enjoy each other's company, but I want you to know that whoever the father was, I would still accept your child because of you.”
“Are you telling me that maybe Amoux got me pregnant?” Almera nodded in response. Almera was right; Amoux and I had sex in the hospital. And I Didn't even notice that I missed my period.
“Almera, this isn't a good joke! You know that I was dating Alpha Brandon.”
“I know, but Alpha Leah, we're talking about your pup here. You grew up without your parents on your side. Are you sure you want your future child to experience what you have been through? I don't think so. Even if it was Amoux's child or not, it doesn't change the truth that it's your pup. I didn't tell you to leave Alpha Brandon; I am telling you that you might be pregnant.”
“Okay, I don't want others to find out about this. Even if it's Kairo.”
Almera was right, and I think I need to go to the pack hospital to find out the truth. Even though I'm still hoping that it wasn't Amoux's child, I couldn't remove the fact that there was a big possibility that it was his child. And I realized that I was too emotional when I was with him, which caused me to get choked by him.
I felt embarrassed because if Almera didn't tell me, I didn't even take a chance to think about it.
I went to the pack hospital after I practiced. I saw the doctor, who checked me when I was here in the hospital. He was checking patients when he saw me. I waited for him to get done for his patients, and I understood that there were a lot of pack members who needed to have emergency aid while I was planning to know what's the truth.
After thirty minutes, the doctor cleared his throat, and I followed him to his office. His face was too calm, and I hoped that it wouldn't take so long because Alpha Brandon might be in the pack right now.
“What can I do for you, Alpha Leah?” The doctor started. He fixed his reading glasses when he didn't remove his eyes from me.
“Are you here because you found out that you're pregnant? I heard your pulse, and there was a tiny heartbeat, but it was too loud.” My heart was thumping so fast for what he told me, and I wished that the doctor was trying to joke with me.
“When I was with my patients, I already hear the heartbeat in your lower abdomen, and I think it's the true reason you're here.”
