Hector was too silent when he saw Amoux crying.
When Amoux was a kid, he didn't let him see that he was crying whenever he was hurting. Amoux was too mature for his age. All he wanted to do was to please him, and he heard his praise whenever he did perfectly whatever he asked.
He didn't have any plans to declare Amoux as his inheritor, but after his younger son, he didn't have any choice but to proclaim Amoux was the successor of his throne. Since the moment that he accidentally slept with Luna, which made Amoux conceive, Lycan didn't let himself sleep with her again after her scheme.
“I-I thought that you'll understand me, Lycan. You didn't have a chance to connect with your mate when she was slowly dying. I don't want that to happen to Leah and me.” Amoux's voice cracked. He cleared his throat and quickly wiped the tears from his cheeks. He faced him without fear that he might be scolded for being weak.
Amoux's eyes were bloodshot. There's a little tiny corner of his eyes. He sniffed when he felt that he couldn't breathe properly.
“Here.” Hector gave his handkerchief, which made Amoux stunned for a little moment. Amoux couldn't stop himself from staring at the cloth that his father was giving him. There was a hesitation in his eyes, but he slowly accepted it and wiped his tears.
“I didn't even know that you were crying. You're like ice whenever you're with me.” Hector commented.
“Because I'm not allowed to show my emotions whenever I am with you. I'm scared that you might call me for being emotional or weak. You always told me I should be strong enough to handle this pack; you don't want a weak successor.” Amoux turned his gaze to the lake, and he didn't say how Lycan plastered a pain on his face.
“I remembered that when I was playing with others, you scolded me after I cried when someone tried to bully me. I know that time, you're emotional about my brother's death. But—” Amoux stopped. He glimpsed his father, who was about to cry if he continued what he was going to say
“But, your words hurt me too much. It haunted me that I was almost afraid to say I wanted to cry. It was like it was forbidden to be weak whenever I felt down. It's like a sin in your eyes; that's why I'm scared you might see me… crying whenever I want to cut my life.” Amoux added.
Hector closed his eyes, and the tears that he was stopping immediately went out into his eyes. His shoulders were shaking, and he coughed.
“You're my son, Amoux. You don't need to pretend that you're strong.” Hector whispered. He faced Amoux, who was watching him weeping from the guilt that he was experiencing.
“I am your son, but in your eyes, I wasn't. Maybe, I was honored to use your name, that in front of everybody, I was your successor if they are all aware that it's not too happy. I even pleaded with the Moon Goddess that I wanted to be a normal werewolf; I wanted to have an ordinary family who didn't need to think about the positions or to stop thinking about the throne.” Amoux sat on the ground, so Hector did the same. They both looked at the small peaceful lake in the middle of the land.
“Do you want to be with Leah so badly?” Hector finally decides to choose to act like Amoux's actual father. He wanted to make him happy, and he realized he didn't like the idea that his son was hurting without his mate.
Amoux nodded. Of course, he wanted to be with his mate, but he knew his father wouldn't let him be happy with Leah.
“Are you sure that you could fight for her? Even if it caused your life.” Hector raised a question again.
“I am sure. I am confident about my feelings for her. She was the best woman that I had ever met. Aside from that, she's my mate; I don't want you to think I am telling you this because he was my mate.”
“Amoux, did you think that Leah would accept you even though you're a Sergio? You told me that she's mad at our family.”
“She's furious because I discovered that Luna was the mastermind of Richelle's death, and I didn't tell her. I was so mad after I heard her shout that she was mad at me and she wanted to reject me. It's my fault; Leah was a woman who needed to be treated with respect and honor.
“About Richelle. I want you to know about your mother.” Amoux immediately looked at the Lycan after he mentioned Luna.
He didn't even notice when Luna returned to their pack; all he knew was that Luna would be going to a party and meeting for all the Luna of the different backpack sides. From that, his mother didn't plan to reach for them. It looks like she was enjoying being alone.
“I'm not telling this to ruin your mother's image. It would help if you didn't get mad at me after you heard whatever I wanted to say to you.”
Hector sighed.
“Your mother had an affair with someone. I don't know who he was, but I know she's doing nasty behind my back.” Amoux's forehead creases after he hears what his father confessed to him.
“Do you want me to investigate her secretly?” Amoux asked, which made Hector dumbfounded.
“I thought that you would have a violent reaction after I told you about it. I know you loved your mother, and I don't want you to get mad at her; she's still your mother. Even though Luna kept doing this behind my back, I don't want to expose this to you; I don't want you to disrespect her.”
“I don't understand why you thought I would be violent after learning this after I heard Luna talking to someone about Richelle's death. Her images in my eyes were too ruined.”
“Alright, maybe I should tell you about my plan, right? But, I want you to remember this, Amoux; you don't need to say this to anyone, even if it's Damon or Leah.”
“Lycan, I thought you finally realized that Leah was worthy of trusting!”
“I know; she's a good woman. I'm mad at her because of her parents, especially her father; he was Richelle's best friend.”
“Then, why do you want me to hide it from my mate?”
“I don't want you to trust Damon. You could tell it to Leah after our plan is successful.” Hector started telling about his plans, which made Amoux stunned about it. He was hoping that their plan would be successful.

Leah was amazed by all of the plants that his cousin gave to her. She took the violet leaf, which may help to reduce a fever.
“You should continue studying this; you're a great help to those who cannot afford to go to the pack house,” Adam whispered.
“Adam, the pack hospital was too free. I don't want my members to endure the pain that they feel whenever they feel that they're sick.” Leah took the leaves, and her eyes moist when she remembered Richelle. She recalled how Richelle scolded her whenever she wasn't too focused on what she was teaching her.
When she found out that Amoux would be with Lycan Hector, she couldn't stop herself from secretly taking a look at Amoux. She remembered how cold Amoux was whenever she saw him.
“You're a significant Alpha, Leah. I don't even see an Alpha who genuinely cares for the pack members.” Adam took the oil that Leah requested. Leah pursed her lips and prevented herself from smirking.
“Stop praising me; I don't have enough money to give you, Adam.” Leah rolled her eyes while. The others laughed so loud. Adam's lips twitched.
“Adam, you're such a fool. Did you think that Alpha Leah would believe you after you spit a flowery word in front of her face?” Almera was the one who laughed so loud, aside from the other pack members.
“Shut up, Almera. You aren't helping me.” Adam irritatedly shouted.
“Hey! Watch your words; I don't want my mate to get hurt by your words,” Kairo complained.
“Dude, I didn't even lay. My finger is on your mate. Don't be jealous of me; I'm not available anymore.” Adam smirked.
Leah shook her head in disbelief that crazy people surrounded her. She slowly put the things that she needed to use.
“Could you please leave me with my students? I don't entertain you all.” Leah strictly said, which made the others groan.
“But I am a student too!”
“What about me?”
“Hey! Bitch, stop being unfair to us.” She glared at Almera when she heard her calling her bitch in front of the children.
“Alpha Leah!!” Leah panicked when she saw a child running in her direction. Even the other members were too shocked and quickly prepared for they think that they got abducted by their enemy.
“You have a visitor. He told us that he was your mate. He looked insane.” Leah and Almera looked at each other. They both think that it was too possible that it was Amoux.
“Leah, you should go to the entrance. Amoux was there, and he looked hopeless.” Adam quickly talked to her using the mind link.
‘Shit, Amoux, what happened to you? What did they do to you?’ She thought.
She realized that Amoux still had a secret place in her heart, and she was hoping that he was fine outside.
