Leah's Point of View
I was walking down the hallway when I spotted Damon, who looked like waiting for me. He quickly strolled toward me, but he maliciously stared at me.
"Did you go to bed early last night? I knocked in your room but you didn't answer," he asked.
I tried not to swallow; he might know why I didn't open the room.
Moon Goddess knows what miracle we did inside my room.
"Yes, my body is exhausted because of the training," I pretended to groan, and Damon snorted at me.
"You really need to be serious about your training because it's for you too."
Damon and I walked together, but I saw his constant glance at me as if he was going to ask something.
"Why do you look more beautiful in my eyes?
I frowned at him because of what he said. Is he flattering me?
"Stop it, Damon," I said, annoyed, but he just laughed. I was surprised when he held my hand.
After that, we came across Amoux and Anaya together again.
Amoux had sharp eyes looking at our hands, but I ignored that because Damon was not doing anything malicious to me.
"Leah, is there something between you and Damon? You two were so sweet yesterday," Anaya asked innocently.
I glanced at Damon, then looked again at Amoux, who gave me a fierce look. Why does he look angry now?
"Did you notice spark between us?" Damon jokingly asked Anaya and Amoux.
I was stunned and tried to shake Damon's hand, but he smiled. He motioned his eyes even more as if that added appeal to him.
"Of course, you two are perfect. When Amoux and I get married, please attend the ceremony."
I was stunned.
"Oh really? Congratulations to you and Amoux," Damon's tone was teasing. He peeked at me and grinned, but I forced myself to smile.
"Thank you, I'm lucky with Anaya. Being mate with the Alpha female is..." Amoux said arrogantly as he was looking straight at my eyes.
Is it because I'm an Omega that he does this to me? Another thing about class! He has no right to do this to me!
"Yes, you two are perfect. One from the Lycan race and a female Alpha." I don't care if my tone was bitter.
Damon put his arm around me and grinned like a madman. What now?
"Don't worry, Leah. I don't care if you're an omega. I still want you."
Amoux's face became stern as he looked at me. His fist was clenched as if he was ready to punch anyone.
"The rank is not a big deal to me, as long as I can get you," Damon added and winked. I looked away, it did not affect me, but I felt sorry.
"Of course, you can get anyone you desire. After all, you're not inheriting the throne. You can destroy your reputation and no one would turn their hand and give a damn," Amoux boasted.
My throat felt dry, and my chest tightened.
Destroy reputation...
He's right. It's a shame.
I tried to swallow my pain as Amoux looked at me with pride in his eyes. I couldn't find any trace of guilt. Nevertheless, Damon held my face so that I could see him.
"The throne is useless if Leah is not going to be my wife," Damon gently said, making my lips part.
"You're so sweet, Damon!" Anaya exclaimed.
"Let's start jogging so we can start training," said Damon.
I nodded, and we were about to run when Anaya called me.
"Leah, aren't you going to teach me how to produce medicine?"
"Later."
I didn't glance at Amoux even though I could feel his deep gaze on me. I turned around and started running.
"Just run slowly; we're not in the contest, Leah," Damon said, shaking his head. I slowed down my running and then turned at him.
"Damon, why do you have to do that? They might think—" He didn't let me finish what I was going to say because he laughed and then spoke.
"Do you prefer to look miserable in Amoux's eyes. Amoux thinks too highly of himself."
I was surprised when he gave me some water; I don't know where he got it.
"And why would I let Amoux belittle you?" Added Damon. We stopped first, and I accepted the water he was giving me.
While we were drinking, I couldn't help but think, why was Damon doing this? I feel that he is just using me to get revenge on Amoux.
But I'm a fool for thinking that Damon is using me because, after all, I have no place with Amoux. Amoux only thinks of me as a woman from his bed warmer whenever he feels horny.
Maybe he has a lot of respect for Anaya even though he can't touch her? I felt pain in my chest.
"Last night, I knew you were still awake," Damon suddenly spoke.
He looked at his shoes and then glanced back at me with anger.
"I know Amoux went to your room that night, Leah. I know because he meant to show me," he added weakly, making me stop.
He took a deep breath and kicked the stone in front of him.
"You shouldn't let Amoux treat you like this, Leah. He already has a fated mate and that is Anaya. I know you have a feelings for him but that's not enough of a reason to let him treat you wrong."
I bowed to what he told me. I'm embarrassed because he knows what Amoux and I are doing.
"Remember, that if you need someone to talk to or an ally, I'm here for you," Damon told me seriously.
I didn't say a word anymore, so we immediately went back to running. Damon's face was grave, as if he was thinking deeply. After we returned to Palace, we noticed Anaya and Amoux being sweet to each other.
Anaya was sitting right on Amoux's lap. At the same time, Amoux grinned at me like he was proud.
Damon wrapped his arm around me, shook his head slowly, and then touched my cheek. I swallowed because of what he was doing.
"Don't look everywhere. The view here is not very good," he whispered, which tickled me. I giggled as I pushed him.
"You don't need to whisper to me, Damon." I make my face expressionless after the tickle.
Damon smirked. He brought his lips to my ear again and blew it, causing my eyes to widen.
"Shit, Damon!" I snarled, but he just laughed at me. I tried to push him to get rid of his arm around me, but he didn't want to.
"Oh why? Why are you pushing me when I'm just caressing you!"
I felt my cheeks go numb because of what he said. I saw Amoux looking at us badly while holding a bread knife.
My eyes widened when I felt Damon kiss my cheek. I held on to it, and the heaving in my chest grew more vigorous. Why did he kiss me?
"You look cute when you blushed." He smiled sweetly, making my cheeks blush even more.
"Amoux!" Anaya shouted. The confusion in his voice made Damon and I turn to the two of them.
I saw the guards run because of Anaya's scream. Damon and I immediately approached and saw Amoux's mad face, but his hands were bleeding.
"Oh! Please, help Amoux," Anaya said in a panic, as if what happened to Amoux was too bad.
"What happened here?"
The Lycan!
He is walking closer to the table with Luna.
"Amoux, what happened?" Luna asked Amoux worriedly. Amoux gave me an evil look that made his grip on the knife even tighter.
I feel like he's mad at me, so he's tightening his grip on the knife, but why? I'm not doing anything wrong to him!
I swallowed many times, afraid that he would point at me as his reason.
