Leah's point of view
We watch in silence as the other members of the Red Moon Pack burn their bodies. The other members let out a loud whimper, which I heard. I wiped away the tears as they started to flow once more.
I thought I would never feel the approaching death of the person I love the most. I paused to take a deep breath before facing the three Alphas' burnt bodies.
'Alpha Rozen and Alpha Dylan, I'm very grateful that you don't treat me differently since I'm from Nightwalker.'
I secretly blame myself for what Amoux did to them because I should have reported them to Alpha Giovanni if I had known what he would do. Maybe, today they're still alive.
"Leah, blame yourself for what happened to the Red Moon Pack. Because you're gullible, you believe that Amouc came here for you!'
"Alpha Giovanni..." I was unable to stop the tears from falling entirely. When I felt someone near me, I looked back and discovered a young toddler cuddling me.
"Luna Leah... I'm scared." I sat down so that we were each on an equal standing.
"Be not afraid. Since we are with you, we will do everything we can to support and guide you."
"Leah.." When I heard Almera calling my name, I turned to face her. Alpha Rozen's Beta, Kairo, was behind her.
"What will we do next?"
"First, let's visit the Dark Pack. The pack that Alpha Rozen is holding must be taken from his brother."
"How will we accomplish it, though?
"Didn't you say you would mind linking up with another pack? Where are the members of the Shadow pack? Do they realize that Alpha Dylan left their pack for me?"
"I've informed them. Let's wait for them to arrive here."
"I believe that Leah's sexuality will prevent the Shadow Pack from recognizing her as their Alpha. She can't handle the Shadow Pack because they consider a male their Alpha, so she can't handle them." Almera and I looked sharply at Kairo when he spoke.
"Are you implying that Leah can't be the leader of these three packs because she is a woman?" Kairo grinned as Almera grabbed him by the collar.
"Honestly, Almera. When you're furious, you appear attractive. I really would like to fuck you harder."
"Kairo!" Kairo's crude remarks to Almera caused her eyes to widen.
"Hold on a second. Did the two of you have a past? Kairo, you're flirting with Almera?" Almera's face turned red, but Kairo only managed to wink at her.
"I lost my virginity to Kairo, but I've already moved on!" Almera.
When I realized it was as if something had happened between them, I smacked my forehead in surprise. What I discovered shocked me.
"I didn't simply get your virginity. You know I'm your mate, don't you? Because we are both horny wolves, will you give it to me?" Kairo said emphatically.
"Oh, shut up!"
"Okay, I understand now. It seems that neither of you has moved on, right?"
"Leah, I know you're my Luna, but I'd like to end this conversation, please."
Almera might be angry, so I refrained from saying anything more. I don't understand why Almera doesn't have a mark or why she and Kairo are now so distant. I'll wait for her to tell me what happened to them.
We did wait for the Shadow pack members. They came to us in far smaller numbers than I had expected. Kairo has already said it will be difficult for me to win their hearts.
"Are you Leah? I'm Alpha Dylan's Beta, and I recently learned that you will represent the Shadow pack's Alpha."
I felt my allies going to my side. I frowned because of what they did, as if they were protecting me from this man. I sighed because Almera and I have known each other for a long time, but we still haven't connected with the mind link.
"To convince us that you have the Alpha Ring of the Shadow pack, I want to see it."
I was about to take the Alpha ring from my pocket, but Almera grabbed my hand as if stopping me. She shook her head, making me even more confused.
"You want to see, or you want to take it from Leah?" Almera asked emphatically. The members of the Red Moon Pack, including Kairo, surround the Shadow Pack.
"Why would I steal something that is rightfully mine? I am the Shadow Pack's Beta, and since Alpha Dylan is no longer alive, I will take his position."
When I heard that, I couldn't believe it. Because his Beta appeared glad that Alpha Dylan was dead, I felt awful for him.
Does he trust this Beta? Because of what he was saying, I became enraged.
"I shall have to take the Alpha Ring by force if you don't give it to me. Why should I follow Leah since she's only a woman? This woman is a b*tch.—-" I swung the katana I was holding into his chest, stopping him in his tracks before he could finish what he was about to say.
He seemed shocked that I could kill him as his eyes widened. The Shadow Pack members became alarmed.
"This woman, Beta, 'll kill you." I further pushed her chest with my enraged remarks.
"Leah!"
Because of what he says, I'm furious. I'm upset with him since he did this after Alpha Dylan had trusted him.
"Ahhh— you bitch!" As I applied more pressure to the katana, he shouted in agony. It contains wolfsbane, which makes the pain he already feels worse. The katana appeared to be coming nearer to his heart. He looks pale.
"You want to lead the Shadow pack, don't you?" I uttered angrily to him, his face becoming terrified.
"Almera, I want you to cut off his head. I want to get his head on display in the Shadow Pack." Almera looked at them and then grabbed the Beta that I was holding.
"No! Please, don't do this. I will not take the Alpha ring. I just ordered that the Alpha ring should be mine!"
I signaled Almera to stop her from cutting his head. The Beta is vomiting blood while whining and glancing at me.
"Who ordered you to snatch the Alpha Ring of the Shadow Pack?"
"It's Lycan Hector. He says that since Alpha Dylan is now dead, I can manage the Shadow pack for him."
Does that mean the Lycan expected the three Alphas to die? He didn't only know that the Alpha Ring was given to me.
I took a deep breath then, glared at the members of the Shadow Pack, and then turned back to Alpha Dylan's Beta.
"This will be a warning that when you betray me, I will not forgive you all," I warned the Shadow Pack, and it seems that Almera immediately discerned my judgment because they instantly pulled down the Beta.
"No! Please, have mercy on me." The noisy scream of the Beta is what we hear as Almera begins to remove his head.
Almera threw the Beta's head at me, and the Shadow pack almost shuddered in anxiety. They stared at Beta's director with a trace of regret on his face for what he had done.
"I don't like traitors. Suppose you don't accept me as the Alpha of the Shadow pack. I will ensure that all those who disagree will suffer the same fate." I raised Beta's head and then shook it.
"We welcome you, Alpha Leah, as the shadow pack Alpha!"
My face became severe when they shouted that. The Shadow pack finally surrendered themselves to me.
"Talk to the other members of the Shadow Pack. I want everything to be in order by the time I get there. The remaining of you will be required to watch over the Red Moon Pack's boundaries."
They complied with my requests right away. To further vanquish the Nightwalker, the three packs will merge into one.
"Leah, you look badass!" Kairo complimented.
Almera glared as if she was annoyed with Kairo again, even though he was doing nothing to her.
"Don't you need an Alpha husband? Because our forces will be stronger if you have a mate," Kairo added.
"I don't need an Alpha male, Kairo. Because I'm making sure that the three packs will be powerful by the time I lead them."
Now that the Shadow Pack is committed, I have to look at the Dark Pack.
"Later, we will go to the Dark pack to get William out. Get ready for those who will join me in the attack."
