Leah's point of view
They were all prepared when I arrived at our meeting place. Almera was with Karen and Kairo. I looked at all the members who were going with us to the Shadow pack.
"We need some members here to guard the boundary of the Red Moon Pack. I'm confident that the Nightwalker might come here to check this property. We need to safeguard this land."
"Alpha Leah, we will sacrifice our lives to protect this land!"
I glimpsed at the man, who exclaimed. He was embarrassed when I found him shortly. I stepped toward him and patted his shoulder.
"Thank you, but my members' lives will be the most valuable for me. I don't want you all to die because of this freaking territory. But, I will assign those I choose to check this perimeter."
They all nodded at me. I just glanced at Almera, and she moved near me. She helps me separate each member so they will be appointed to care for the children as long as we don't get back here. We also analyze the number of guards that will scan each barrier of the Red Moon Pack. We all talked about the schedules of who will patrol during the day and night.
"Let's fight with unity! I believe in all of you, and thanks for believing in me."
"Leah, we need to hurry! William must not be declared as the Alpha! Time is running out." Kairo approached me when I finished talking with other members of the pack. I nodded as my response to what he reminded me of.
"We should shift so we can go to the Shadow pack too fast!" Almera implies.
I saw Almera shift directly; then, I turned my gaze to the members who were left in the Red Moon Pack behind. I shifted into my wolf form and ran toward all of my pack members who would go with me in the Shadow Pack.
We ran fast to the Shadow Pack. Alpha Rozen's pack is too close to the Red Moon pack, so maybe, we will take a few minutes to reach our destination. I glanced at my side and felt some unfamiliar wolves running with us.
The pack members didn't even feel them. They're running as fast as they can. I saw a black rogue who was going in front. My eyes expanded when I saw Almera in front.
"Almera!!!" I contacted Almera out loud using the mind link. But it was too late for Almera to notice the black rogue, who suddenly appeared to her, struck her.
Kairo's eyes were red in wrath; he attacked the black rogue and tightly bit the rogue's neck. The black rogue cried out in pain when Kairo bit him again, and he kept attempting to get out of Kairo's bite.
"Almera, are you alright?" I went closer to Almera, who didn't even move. My heart kept beating fast. I was worried that she was dead. I licked her face, so she moved after what I did.
"Oh, please! Stop licking me, Leah! It's fucking gross!"
"Oh, You're weak. I thought you died from a simple attack by a rogue, Almera." She started uttering profanity at me using the mind link. I waved my tail in her face, making her feel enraged more.
I glared at the rogue, and I'm sure he's a man. I could hear his heartbeat was weak. I transform into my human form. He tried to fight harder against Kairo until his heart stopped beating on its own. How is that possible? How does his heart stop beating?
"Kairo, you can let him go. He's dead." Kairo obeyed what I said, and they were alarmed that the rogue who attacked Almera was dead. We didn't even fight with him, so how is that possible?
"Woah, what the— I didn't even hurt him. How did he die?" Almera screamed when she returned to her human form. All of the pack members shift too.
"Alpha Leah, how did you know that he was dead? I didn't even see you laying your hands on that rogue?"
Their faces were full of queries. I glanced away; all they know is I knew how to heal using plants. They didn't know that I had healing power.
I recalled what Alpha Giovanni had told me before he died. Lycan Hector used my parent's healing ability to reduce their lifespan. So, I don't need to tell them about it. I don't want them to abuse me.
"I just heard the faint beating of his heart until it stopped. That's all."
"Woah, maybe, you're gifted. Do you mean you can hear our hearts beat too?" Karen asked.
I faked my cough. They looked fascinated at what they found out about me. What will be their reactions if they discover that I can heal?
"I'm not gifted. Yeah, I can hear all your heartbeats. I know when the werewolf was sick or their death was too near."
"Oh, that's cool!"
"Sh*t! Let's start running. They said that the Alpha ceremony starts." Kairo cut our talk.
"They know we're coming in the Shadow pack. That's why they rush everything."
We started walking when we saw a group of wolves approaching us. Their eyes were red, and they looked ready to eat us.
"This is part of William's plans to make us stop going to the Shadow pack!" Kairo looked at me using his fierce eyes.
"Alpha, don't worry about this group of rogues. You better go to the Shadow pack!" I heard my other pack members promise that they were ready to fight. I nodded, but I sighed. I wanted to help them, and I was worried that they might die because of me.
Almera, Karen, and Kairo will stay with me. We left the rest of the pack members so that we could now go to the Shadow Pack. My heart was racing, and I secretly hoped that William hadn't been appointed yet as the Alpha.
I was amazed when some people approached us. They walked near Kairo. Oh, they were the members of the Shadow pack.
"Kairo, the Alpha ceremony—" We followed Kairo running to the place where the Alpha ceremony was held.
There were a lot of people watching the Alpha ceremony. When they saw us, they kept murmuring to one another. I glanced at the stage and saw a man who looked like Alpha Rozen was bowing down while there was an old man next to him, who stopped and looked at me.
"You need to stop this Alpha ceremony!" I yelled, then took out Alpha Rozen's ring in my pocket. William glared at me like he was willing to slay me in front of anyone.
William looked similar to Alpha Rozen, but his face was mature. I saw him inhaling fast as he stood up. His eyes were sharp, and he never took his eyes off of me.
"Did you know that I can kill you? You overstepped on my territory! I can order the guards to slit your throat!"
"Oh, stop scaring me, William. I have the Alpha ring here!" I grinned, then placed the Alpha ring in front of his face.
"You don't need to assign this asshole your Alpha because I am your Alpha!" I added, making William's face redden in irritation.
"But I was declared their Alpha before you came here, bitch. So I can kill you if I want to. If you want not to be killed, you'd better give that Alpha ring to me."
"Hmmm, interesting! But what if I don't want to give this to you?"
"This is your only chance, Leah. Don't regret your decision when I assassinate you. I am Rozen's brother, and that's why I have the privilege to be the Alpha of our pack. We don't even know you, whore!
I saw the guard holding a giant sword on our side. It seemed like they were waiting for William's words to kill us.
"Give the Alpha's ring to me, and I will forget this happened. I won't hurt you, or maybe, you can be my Luna." William walked toward me like he owned the world. He beamed while shaking his head.
"Leah, don't give the ring to William. They told me William hasn't been declared the Alpha yet." I stopped myself from reacting to what Kairo said. I don't want William to discover that Kairo and I were communicating using the mind link.
So, it means that William was planning to deceive me. He wants me to give him the Alpha's ring because he hasn't been proclaimed as the Alpha. And if Kairo didn't even notify me about this, I would lose my chance to become the Alpha of the Shadow Pack.
"If they appoint you as their Alpha, you don't need this ring, right?" William took the sword and ran towards me. I snatched the sword of the guard beside me.
"I will fucking kill you, bitch!" He swung the sword with full force, causing me to step back so I won't get any cut.
The Shadow pack members just watched us murdering each other; they didn't even dare to help us.
"I never thought Alpha Rozen had an evil brother like you!"
"Haha, I was supposed to be the Alpha of this pack! I am the eldest son; I was the next Alpha of this pack! You don't even know how long I waited for my brother to die!"
"I was the original Alpha of this pack, not that loser! I am the Alpha of this pack!" He added.
"Fuck! He's your brother, asshole!"
"The moment he accepted that damn title, I swear he's not my brother anymore!"
"Ahh! Sh*t!" I felt a big cut on my back. I feel even weaker because the sword that he was using had wolfsbane.
"I want you to know, Leah. That I prepared this sword for you, I can lead the three-pack if you die, and I will be the most powerful Alpha."
