Amoux's point of view
I was looking at Leah, who had an irritation on her face. She automatically rolled her eyes when Almera disturbed our talk. Leah's face reddened in frustration; she seemed to want to talk more about our plans, but her Beta cut our discussion.
After a minute, I heard her Beta walk away from the door, so I think Leah talked to her using mind linking.
“I apologize for how she acted. Almera is one of whom I trusted here in the Red Moon Pack. She's too overprotective of me, which is what you all see now.” Leah walks like a professional woman I've ever seen. I never imagined that she would be an Alpha; no, I never imagined that she would be a strong Alpha, a powerful Alpha.
“It's alright, Leah. We understand that most of the Beta were too protective of their Alpha. And you are lucky that she was loyal to you.” Damon winked at me, so my face slowly turned into a scowl. Why is he blinking at me?
“Yeah, I am lucky to have her, although there was a time that I wanted to strangle her. But, I can trust Almera so much; she may be a bitch, but I know she won't betray me. I am fortunate to have them, not only Almera but Karen and Kairo too.”
I glance at Damon again. Okay, I am fortunate that Damon and I were okay; we're not enemies. I know if I get the throne, Damon is the first I can trust.
“And they were all lucky to have you as their Alpha. Leah, I know you are responsible; you treat your members as your family.”
“Damon, I am too full for your sweet words. Do you want to be my Alpha?” I can't stop myself from glaring at Damon when he cough. He exhaled, then gently tapped his chest; he acted that Leah surprised him.
“Leah, you know you're the first woman I wanted to mate, but since you finally saw your mate, our agreement is automatically invalid.” Damon's voice was full of panic; I saw him avoiding his eyes on me.
“I'm thinking about it. As the Alpha, I'm still thinking if I still need a man beside me. If you're talking about Amoux, for being my most, he was destined for Anaya.” Leah raised her eyebrow at me, which I found too seductively in my eyes. Well, I was like a horny dog when it came to Leah, and that is because she was my mate, after all.
“Oh, y-yeah. Don't worry; Amoux will fix everything. He didn't even remember how he concluded that Anaya was his destiny. Something wasn't right.” Okay, I am not angry with Damon; I am grateful to have him.
“Damon, is that what Amoux told you? I am sure he knew I was his mate, but he chose Anaya because Anaya is an Alpha Female.” Leah's tone was full of sarcasm; she even looked at me like she wanted to murder me; oh, Leah. You can kill me in bed if you wish.”
“Leah—”
“You don't need to explain your side, Amoux because even though we are mates, you accept me as your other half. It's impossible for us because your father killed my parents, and you killed the three Alphas who are more important to me.” Leah cut my words when I tried to defend myself.
“But, I am thankful you went here to inform me about the disease. I appreciate that you all know what will happen to both of you once the Lycan learns this,” she added.
I sighed in defeat because I knew Leah was still grieving her loss. I don't want to pressure her; I don't want to force her, even though whenever I see her, I want to imprint her on the spot.
I am wrong to act recklessly, and I am wrong that I trust my father so much. I don't even think that he will use me for his plans, and that's my fault.
“Then, maybe, we should talk again. While we're doing to find the big book, you should go to the pack doctor and then have a check-up for yourself. If they ask you about that, you should answer that you want to be physically fit.”
“Amoux, why don't I need to tell them the true reason? I don't think the pack doctors will betray me.”
“I think if someone wants to infect you with disease and finds out that you're checking yourself because you discover it, the culprit will hide. The mastermind will do everything to stop you from knowing it.” Damon nodded his head. He agreed that we wanted the culprit not to notice that we knew their plans.
Leah paused as she was thinking about what I said. She slowly walked towards the window.
“Alright. I think you're right.” she surrendered
After we talked about everything we needed, we followed Leah, and she ushered us to the exit of the packhouse. My face darkened when I saw Alpha Brandon gazing at Leah for so long. He looks like a protective husband to his wife, and I dislike it so much.
Almera went to Leah quickly, but her warning stares didn't avoid my eyes. It seems like she hated me so much, I think, if she had an affair with one of the three Alphas.
“Finally, you are all done discussing something; Leah don't you dare try to leave us for that asshole,” Leah growled so loud when Almera started to speak. Almera trembled in fear, but I couldn't believe I was having a hard-on when Leah roared like a lion.
She's so sexy and stunning. Leah became a woman, what the Alphas and Lycans wanted.
“My apologies, Alpha.” Almera bowed her head like a puppy.
“Let's go.” Leah and her Betas went to us to go to the entrance of the Red Moon Pack. I felt unhappy that I would be away again with my mate.
“We will inform you once we have the big book.” Leah nodded, and then Damon and I immediately returned to the Nightwalker. We're lucky that the Lycan and Luna weren't in our pack, so we immediately washed our smell.
Hours passed, and Lycan and Luna arrived in the Nightwalker. The two had stern faces while they were walking toward us. I don't know why I felt nervous when they all looked furious while staring at me.
“Amoux, let's talk.” Damon was beside me from the moment that Lycan spoke to me. I did my best to wipe away the worriedness on my face; I didn't need to feel anxious.
“Lycan, what is happening?” Lycan shook his head, then went into his office; Damon and I obeyed him.
“I want to talk about the upcoming marriage with you and Anaya. Alpha Joe tried to do it after seven months.”
I was shocked after I heard what the Lycan announced. Damon was surprised too.
“What's the sudden rush? Why can't they wait for a year?” I know I sound displeased, but I can't stop myself. I know Anaya's doing it again, or maybe, her family. They wanted me so badly because of the throne.
“Amoux, I will inform you that if you didn't marry Anaya, either, if Anaya was the wife you wanted. You will never get the throne; if you wish for the throne, you should marry Anaya first. It's Anaya that you want to get this throne.” I thought my world had stopped spinning because of what my father had declared.
Why is he doing this?
“L-Lycan, I don't even know that we have rules like this!” I was furious about what I had discovered. It seems Lycan wanted to make sure that I won't marry Leah.
“You are destined for Anaya. So, I don't understand why you're reacting this way!”
“Lycan–”
“Don't tell me that you had a relationship with that Omega? She may be an Alpha now, but it won't erase her actual rank. Anaya is an Alpha Female, so don't waste this chance, Amoux!”
“What if I told you that Anaya wasn't my mate—”
“Then, I don't care if you like to inherit this throne. You will marry Anaya even though she isn't your mate. I am not dumb, Amoux. And I don't think that slutty Leah will become my daughter-in-law.”
“And, once you choose Leah to become your wife, don't make me see her because I will kill her in front of you. I won't do everything to stop your obsession with this omega!” My heart was stabbed with a thousand knives. I want Leah so much, but if I choose to be with her, I know that my father will make his threat.
“Amoux, you are the future Lycan King, so you must choose wisely. I know that you have wanted this throne since you were a kid. You have seven months to enjoy your craziness with that bitch, but after that, you will marry Anaya, whether you like it or not.”
