Leah's point of view
“Alpha Leah, are you telling us the truth?” I smacked my forehead when Almera repeated her question. What is she doing here in my office? When will she stop bugging me? I wanted a peaceful environment, and she wasn't helping me.
I glared at her, so Almera bit her lips and then tried to make a face in front of me. I sighed and tried to calm down, but it wasn't working. And an idea came to my mind; I needed to call Kairo for help with his mate. Can he Almera in a whole day so that she won't be here with me in my office.
“Kairo!!” This is my desperate action; I want to discover the disease that Amoux and Damon talked about, but how can I if Almera was always hanging around?
“Alpha Leah, what happened? Is there something wrong?”
“Please, take your mate with you. You can fuck her the whole day to make her stop chasing me. We're here in my office. And that's an order!” Kairo was silent, and I imagined him. I imagined that Kairo was reddened in embarrassment for how vulgar I was. But I don't even care; the time is running so fast, and I can't waste another time.
I was astounded when Kairo went inside my office. He automatically grabbed Almera, who was shouting and cursing at him. I smirked when I finally got the winning card. Does Almera think that I don't remember her weaknesses?
Well, she loves so much to hang around with a hot man. And since Kairo was her mate, I trusted Almera to him.
“Ahh— Alpha Leah, how dare you do this to me?!” I heard Almera's scream using the mind link. I let her listen to my laugh.
“Bitch, enjoy being fuck. Keep moaning!”
I immediately blocked her so she couldn't use the mind link on me. I remembered there was a vast library here in the Red Moon Pack, so I quickly finished the pile of papers that I needed to read and sign. When I finished it, I came out of my office, then walked to the library.
This library was only for the werewolves who had ranked in the packhouse. I was about to enter when I heard footsteps, so I hid so no one could notice me around.
When I felt their presence was far from me, I looked at different corners. I need to make sure that no one will witness me coming into the library.
I felt guilty for keeping a secret from Almera. I feel like I am sinful and wasting their trust in me. I was in the library for the whole day; what's the use of the library if they don't have a book containing contents about the disease?
“Useless book!” I screamed in frustration; I wanted to burn all of these useless books in front of me. I was about to leave when I saw a big book; it was the only book at the top of the shelf.
I took the ladder and used it to reach the top of the shelf. I was scared that I might fall, so I avoided taking a look down. I took out my hand and then tried to grab the book, but when the book was in my hand, the ladder shook, which made my eyes widen in disbelief.
And before I landed on the ground, I saw a dark shadow leave the library. I screamed so loud when I crashed on the floor, my head banged on the floor, and I felt a sticky liquid on my head. But before I lost consciousness, I saw Almera and Kairo tapping me while they were in their undergarments.
“Leah!”
I groaned when I felt my headache. I slowly opened my sight as I smelled alcohol in my surroundings. A white ceiling met me, and I sighed heavily.
“Alpha Leah!” Almera rushed towards me when I was trying to sit. I touched my head; there was a gauze encircling my head.
“Where is the book? Could you bring it to me?”
“The book that you were holding before you passed out?” Kairo had a severe face.
“Y-Yeah, I need that book.” I whimpered when I felt my head was aching too much. I was nauseous and dizzy.
“It's still in the library. We took it for you first, and we don't even know that you needed that book, that you're willing to die because of it.”
“Please, Almera! Ask Karen to get the book that I need. There's a leaf logo design on the cover page.” Kairo and Almera were about to leave me when I called them.
“What is it? What are you feeling?” My heart melted like butter when Almera's tone had a lot of worriedness.
I twitch my lips and then grin at her. Her eyes expanded, but she was more anxious.
“Kairo, you should call the pack doctor; I think Leah had a significant injury on her head! She's getting crazy!” I laughed, but I paused when my head hurt.
“I want to ask before I pass out, is it true that you two wore your undergarments? I'm sorry you didn't reach your climax because of me.” Kairo's face turned crimson when he learned I was poking fun at them.
“Argh!” Almera groaned in frustration when she started stomping her foot like a child. I turned to Kairo, who was bowing his head before he left me in the room too.
Hmm. Why are they acting like virgins here? I raised a question because that's the best image I saw before I died. My heartbeat rose when an hour passed; Almera and Kairo weren't back in the pack hospital.
I recalled that someone was in the library too and that someone shook the ladder to make me fall on the floor. And I ensured that person wanted me to be dead. But who is it?
“Karen! Where are you today?” I am waiting for Karen's response in my mind. I was damn worried for my two Betas; even though I was teasing them, I loved them, and I appreciated their efforts as my faithful Betas.
“Alpha Leah, I am pleased to know that you're awake. I am with Almera and Kairo; we're going to the hospital.” I sighed in relief after Karen informed me that my two lovey-dovey Betas were fine.
Minutes passed when my Betas entered my room. My face enlightened when I saw the book that Almera was holding.
“Are you sure that this is the book? There was nothing written inside of it.”
“What are you talking about, Almera?” Almera gave me the book, and it's the same logo that Richelle was holding whenever I saw her.
I opened the book, and my forehead creased when nothing was written on it. But how is that possible? Why did Richelle have a chance to read this piece of shit when the truth is there's nothing, even a word, inside of it.
I grunted, I thought it was an easy task, but I don't even know how to read if I don't see the words.
“Why are you willing to sacrifice your life for this useless book, Alpha Leah? I know you aren't telling us important information.” I avoided my gaze to Almera; I knew she was trying to push me to tell them what's the problem.
“Were your Betas. You don't need to keep a secret from us.” Karen says.
I shut my mouth to stop myself from talking. I don't even know, but I felt someone I shouldn't trust in the Red Moon Pack, but who is it?
“If I found who's the traitor. I will tell you all about it.” My voice became uneasy.
“Traitor? There's a traitor inside of our pack? What the–” Almera freaked out; she was upset.
I nodded my head. That's all they needed to know; I wanted their help to search for that traitor.
“I used the ladder to get this book because it's on the top shelf. But someone shook the ladder, which made me fall.”
“Alpha Leah, are you sure that you saw someone? But how is that possible?” I tried to get rid of my emotions when Karen butt in. Of course, it's possible; how does the ladder shake without someone trying to wiggle it?
“Karen, how is that impossible?” Almera paused, then glared at Karen.
“Karen, you know that we trusted you, right? I don't want to doubt you, but in how you spoke, you sound worried that Alpha Leah caught someone purposely doing it to execute her.”
“Tell me, Karen, are you with our side? Or are we all wrong for establishing our trust in you?” Almera added, and Kairo moved closer to Karen. He held Karen's shoulder when Karen tried to struggle with his hold.
“You're accusing me without evidence! Almera, we both grew up together! You know that I am faithful to our Alpha.”
“You were, but not anymore!” Almera roared as if she was ready to attack her.
