“This isn't funny, Almera!” Karen growled; her veins were popping on her head and neck. She glared at Almera, who was prepared to attack her.
“Karen, I want to ask where did you go when Almera and Kairo were fucking each other? You seem busy, to make me not see your presence even a little bit.” Karen's face flushed; she avoided her gaze at me, then cleared her throat.
“I'm not a traitor here, okay? I was busy with someone.--- You know, like hanging out with a man?”
“Do you have someone who can prove your statement? I do not doubt you, but I want to make sure. Karen, you seem preoccupied, and I checked the file in the pack; you aren't even there.” Karen coughed, they pointed out her neck, but her ear reddened.
“Okay, I was enjoying my mate. I apologize for not telling you this, Alpha. You know that I was so conservative! And, I know Almera will chase me for asking about the sex position I ever did with my mate.”
My eyes widened when I saw her neck had a mark; it was like they were successfully finishing the mate bond. Almera gasped after she heard Karen suddenly announce.
“You, selfish bitch! I think your mate was hot, and you don't want me to steal him away from you!”
“Bitch please, he won't steal from anyone. I know, but I won't forget this; how dare you doubt me? If you and Kairo didn't fucked each other that day, I might suspect you!”
“Bitch, I am faithful to my Alpha, and what's the reason I will betray her?”
“Because you love Alpha Brandon's cock, that's it.” Karen laughed when Almera was going to pull her hair. But Karen immediately dodges it. I sighed and forced myself to smile.
“Congratulations, Karen. You finally found your mate, and I hope to meet him someday.”
“He will be happy to meet you, my Alpha.” Karen seems glad when she learns about her mate, and I don't know why I didn't believe her.
“As my gift, I will give you a whole week to be with your mate. You're a new couple, so you need to tie up with him.” When Karen went out inside my room, I was silent until I was sure her presence wasn't in the hospital anymore.
I touched the book, and using my finger, I stroked the green leaf logo on the cover page. I turned my stare at Almera when I heard her faking her cough.
“Alpha Leah, I don't think you will get her away so easily. I was disappointed and furious simultaneously; I wanted to strangle her! I have liked Karen so much since we were kids. We grew up with each other. But, I don't think I will condone her betrayal of us.”
“Almera, how long have you known Karen so well? That she might not tell you who the hell the mate that she was mentioning today.” I stared at her blankly; I knew that Almera would be heartbroken once she discovered that Karen was the traitor. I won't be unfair to Karen, I want her to explain her side, but I know she wasn't ready yet.
“I want you to find out who's her mate. You must always follow her.”
“Are you telling me that I will spy on her? Does this mean that I am absolutely right that she's the one?
“That's not why I mean; I want you to search everything. And is there a man who was new in our pack?”
We're starting to adopt homeless people, and maybe the enemy used this to get in. But I didn't know if the Nightwalker was into it, for I knew that Damon and Amoux would inform me about it.
“There were new members in our pack. They were men. And they looked lovely,” Kairo growled after he heard his mate's words again. I gently touch my neck because of Almera's doing.
“Almera, did you all check their background? I don't care if they look seductive because all I want isn't a traitor.”
“We investigate everything that we need since they were young, their homeless. They are all a family; they have three kids, too.”
“Then? What happened to their packs, then? Have they been rogue since the very beginning?”
“We've interviewed the two men, and they aren't rogue. Someone attacks their pack, which causes them to be homeless. When they discovered they were adopting homeless children, they went there to give them their siblings, but their siblings didn't want them to go with us.” I nodded, then thought I might not be right all along.
I don't even know if my enemy was the Lycan, but he's the only one that I know, or maybe someone was hiding, and that someone didn't want me to see that they existed.
“I am the Luna of this pack, too. So, I need to check every child in the adoption center. I don't want them to feel that they were an outcast here. I experienced being like that.”
“Take Kairo with you; I want you two to search for everything about Karen and this new member in our pack. I want to make sure that they aren't the ones.” I added; although Almera wanted to inquire more, she shut her mouth, and they obeyed what I ordered them to do.
But, when I moved, I screamed in pain when I felt my headache. I touch my nose when a liquid flows down, so I quickly wipe it.
I saw blood on my hand; I was about to panic when I accidentally touched the book using my hands that had blood. I was surprised when I saw the book glowing light green. My hands slightly shook when I saw my last name on it, but I knew this wasn't mine; maybe it was from my family
My tears started to form when I touched the last name. I can't believe that Alpha Giovanni's family hid this. I missed Alpha Giovanni so much; when I flipped the cover page, I saw the green leaf again. What is the meaning of this symbol?
This book is exclusive to the Vuk family. This will be passed for every firstborn in the bloodline.
I saw a lot of blood stains on it; how is that possible? When I checked the book, it didn't even have a single word written, but now I saw how every letter was shining in light green. I was amazed that it was like a magic book. Who the heck invented this book?
The name of my older relatives was written on it. There are a lot of healers in this world who are secretly hiding.
Healers were known because of their healing abilities. They all existed in the world and had a bond with other kinds of werewolves. But, everything changed when the hunter tried to hunt our kind because they found out that the healer could be healed and help their co-werewolves.
But, when the hunters were assassinating many healers, many werewolves were scared for their own lives; they wanted to live for long, and they knew that healers could help them out. They're greedy in power; they're selfish that they treated a lot of healers like a slave.
And their greed causes the number of healers to decrease. And as the leader of all the healers of the world, we healers decided to hide our identity and ability so they didn't find us.
In the year 199*Lycan, King Rico wanted all of the healers to surrender themselves, which caused an excessive number of healers to be killed by the hunters and werewolves. Lycan Rico had a deadly disease, and for he couldn't see any healers who wanted to help him to get healed, he ordered that all healers that anyone would see would be executed and murdered.
And this significant incident causes all the healers to spread widely all over the world. The Vuk family, from the bloodline of the leader Vuk of the healers, went to the Red Moon Pack; we're lucky that they accepted us and treated us well. They treated us like a family member who led the Vuk family to become members of the Red Moon Pack.
We thought that everything would be alright when Alpha Leonardo took over the throne. Alpha Leonardo secretly had an alliance with all of the hunters, and this hunter created a deadly disease for all of the healers. Alpha Leonardo blamed all of the healers since his father passed away.
I gasped after I read the first part of the book. So it's true that the hunters invented a disease. Unfortunately, Amoux's grandfather was the mastermind. I never thought that the Sergio's would be so evil like this. Why do they need to blame us if everything they all did was to kill us like a pig?
I was frightened because I knew that the Lycan knew that I was the healer. But why does Richelle have a book like this? Is she one of the healers too?
I wanted to know everything, but I wanted to check at the end of this book. I gasped when I found someone beside me; I saw Amoux holding the other book. But his eyes were bloodshot as if he were crying.
“Amoux, when did you arrive here?” Amoux went closer to me, and I saw Damon entering my room. He even raised his eyebrow at me, but I saw a palm mark on his neck as if someone had tried to choke him to death.
“Why are you crying?” My forehead creased, and my heart was pumping fast while clenching.
“Alpha Brandon called us that you're here in the hospital. We're so damn worried that we even went here even though this isn't our plan!” My mouth hung open when Amoux started crying like a kid. He sobbed like he was scared that he had lost me, that I was dead when he arrived.
“Amoux, you don't need to cry! I am alive; I can kick your ass if you want.” But he glared at me like he was threatening not to continue my joke. I saw endless tears flowing from his eyes.
“You look ugly when you cry!” I added; I breathed in when Amoux hugged me and then tried to hide his face so I could stop teasing him.
Don't do this, Amoux! I don't want the wall that I built to be a wreck because of this. I am mad at you; I am furious that you're Sergio. I don't want to accept you as my mate.
“Will you shut up! I'm not crying, okay?” My heart felt like it was torn into a thousand pieces when he tried to stop his whimper, but he failed.
“Y-You're crying.” My voice cracked.
“No! Don't believe Damon; he's bluffing.”
I didn't try to talk; I was hurting because I was hoping that Amoux and I were ordinary werewolves rather than this. I was aching because I knew that in the end, he would not be mine.
My wolf whimpered, and she was crying simultaneously as our mate.
“How does Alpha Brandon find out about this? I didn't even inform him.”
“Someone sent him a note that you're in the hospital, but it's a threat. The sender wants Alpha Brandon to marry you. If he doesn't, the sender will kill you.”
But before I was going to react, I heard glass shatter on the floor. I saw Almera's shocked face.
