Leah's point of view
It's been hours, but even though I forced myself to fall asleep, I couldn't. I couldn't believe what I read in Richelle's book, and I was hesitant to continue reading it, for I knew it was her diary that she was hiding. Even though she was dead, I wanted to give her respect for her privacy.
I was staring at the white ceiling of the hospital when I heard Alpha Brandon groan. I know that he can't sleep as well, but he needs to rest because he had a sudden meeting with his pack.
I remembered that Richelle was acting ordinary in front of Lycan. I don't even think they had a past, but I want to know the truth. Richelle decided to teach me how to use herbs, for she knew that I was one of the healers, and for sure, she knew that my family was healers too.
“Why are you still awake?” Alpha Brandon chose to sit on the couch; he didn't look sleepy at all, but his face was full of worry while he was glancing at me.
“I can't sleep. Argh! I want to sleep so badly.” Yeah, I wanted to rest my freaking brain; I don't want to think about Richelle.
Alpha Brandon sighed; he stood up and moved towards me. He was seated on the bed where I was lying on. I watched her when he tapped the side of the bed near him.
“Come here; I will help to make you sleepy.” My forehead furrowed because I didn't even know what he would do.
“I will tap you as the mother did to her baby.” I busted out laughing at him, and I saw his cheeks reddened in embarrassment. Alpha Brandon glared at me as he stopped me from making fun of him. He avoided his eyes, and I noticed his ear blushed too.
“I want to help you, and here you are; you're making fun of me.” Alpha Brandon was about to move out on the bed when I went to the area that he tapped. I smirked at him; my heart melted for what he was doing; he was spoiling me.
“Daddy, please, make me sleep.” I acted like a child, but I shrieked when Alpha Brandon tickled me on my waist. I was screaming for help, but he was laughing at me.
“Ohh! Fuck—” I cursed at him and tried to punch him, but he continued tickling me, making me breathe heavily. I was gasping for air, and Alpha Brandon chuckled.
“Shit, Alpha Brandon, stop it!” Alpha Brandon stopped when he saw that I couldn't breathe properly; I smacked his back, but he didn't flinch.
“Haha, oh! If you do that again, I will tickle you again.” Alpha Brandon is seated beside me. I was too comfortable whenever he was with me.
“Close your eyes,” He whispered, and he started tapping my back; he even hummed to make me fall asleep so fast. I closed my eyes and relaxed about what he was doing to me. Alpha Brandon was too gentle when he was tapping my back. I felt him stunned when I embraced his waist while he was sitting.
“Alpha Leah.” He mumbled my name, and I heard his heart pumping fast. Is he nervous? His heart was racing as if Alpha Brandon had taken a run for miles.
“I love you.” I didn't hear what he said when I fell asleep. I know that I am starting to have a dream, and I feel a force make my body numb. I was in the shiny area; where was I?
I was walking when I heard the water, and I saw that I was walking in the water. My forehead furrowed because I didn't even say anything.
“Hello!” I shouted, but no one was there. I was shocked when I saw how the shiny area became a forest. I was standing at the big rock, and I saw a small lake. I turned around, and I saw that this was the middle part of the land; this area was between the Nightwalker and Red Moon Pack.
“Leah.” I was surprised when I heard a gentle voice. I blinked when I saw a familiar woman walking toward me.
“Who are you? And, how did you know my name?” The corner of the woman's mouth twitched. She looked too familiar when I stared at her.
“Are you sure you don't know me? Leah, I feel disappointed. You're your father, who loves to tease me whenever he wants.”
“Wait. What? Do you know my father?” The woman nodded; she smiled at me, then shook her head.
“I know him; he's my best friend.” When she reached me, we were both staring at the beautiful lake in front of us.
“Where's my father? I want to see him. And, where am I?”
“Woman, you must calm yourself. I am not here to answer your question. I am here to talk to you.”
“Why do you need to? I don't even know you!”
“Haha, you know me, Leah. I looked young here. If you really want to know who I am, you should stay here first.”
“Don't tell me that I am dead now?” The woman shook her head, and I heard her ‘TSK.’
“You're still stubborn as usual, Leah. I thought you would finally change after you managed the three packs.” I paused when she held my hand. She pulled me towards the forest, and we walked towards the Nightwalker area.
“What are we doing here? What if someone might catch us going here?”
“I am sure that no one will catch us. You're dreaming of me, and the Moon Goddess allowed me to talk to you.”
“The Moon Goddess?” I felt so excited when she mentioned the Moon Goddess, and I hoped I would see her.
“Yeah, and I know that you wanted so badly to see her. Unfortunately, you won't see her today because I was the one who needed to speak with you.”
We resumed walking, and my mouth hung open when I saw Richelle's house. My tears were forming in my eyes when I recalled how I always watched Richelle taking care of her plants.
“Let's go.” The woman grabbed me again, and we entered Richelle's house. I turned around, and I felt unhappy when my heart was throbbing.
“I used to live here. You were too young when I decided to adopt, even though you're hard-headed. I was scared that someone might find out that you're a healer too, so I decided to teach you how to use herbs.”
“R-Richelle.” My voice cracked when I uttered her name. I couldn't believe that Richelle was in front of me. I can't believe that the Moon Goddess gave me a chance to communicate with Richelle.
“I never thought that you would fall for Sergio too.” She grinned; she took the picture frame where our pictures were displayed. Her eyes roamed around; she didn't look sad whenever she glanced at every corner of this house.
“Richelle, I want to ask—”
“Yes, Hector Sergio is my mate, and I am sorry that I can't tell you everything. All that you wanted to know was in the book that I owned. The Moon Goddess didn't allow me to tell you everything.”
“Then, what's the use of going here if you aren't able to tell me everything?”
“Leah, you may be an Alpha, but it doesn't change the fact that I am your elder. It would help if you respected me. I still recall that you couldn't even focus whenever I taught you how to use herbs.”
“Richelle, you don't need to embarrass me here in my dream. If this is my dream, I can choose to kick you out of here.” I kissed, so we laughed together.
“Leah, I want you to take care of yourself. The enemies were too ready to attack you. They're waiting for their time to lavish you.”
“Does he Lycan Hector?”
Richelle shook her head before she went to the small cabinet; I saw she was taking a small glass; I was amazed when I saw that it was a necklace.
“Maybe, Hector was mad at you, even your parents, but he's not the one I mentioned to you. Please investigate the people around you.”
“Is it Alpha Brandon?” I was worried; I was hoping that Alpha Brandon wasn't a traitor.
“You love Amoux, right?” Instead of answering my question, Richelle asked me back.
“He is my mate. The Moon Goddess gave him to me.”
“How sure are you that she's the one for you, Leah? If your heart was beating for two men?”
“Richelle, this is not a good joke! I can't fall in love with someone else since from the very start that I saw Amoux; I was into him.”
“I didn't tell you that you didn't like Amoux. I asked because you seemed so sure that Amoux was for you.”
“Leah, you know what happened to the healers. It's because of Sergio's. If all the healers find out that you are destined for Amoux, what do you think they might do? They will do everything to stop you from having a relationship with him. Healers can't accept that one of their kind was destined for Sergio. They loathed them so much.”
I didn't even know what I was going to say. Does she mean that even a healer will stop me from being happy with Amoux because he's a Sergio?
“And you're lucky that someone was with you starting today. That someone will do everything to protect you and cherish you. Leah, I want you to know that you should endure everything that might happen, for it will affect your life.”
“Your life is at risk. Alpha Brandon was a lovely man; you can trust him for everything. I saw his heart, and he will be beside you wherever you are. He was ready for you.”
“Are you telling me that Amoux----”
“I am not saying that. I want you to be happy, without stress. What did you think might happen when Amoux got the throne? Did you think you would be satisfied that Amoux was finally the Lycan King? I am sure you're not. The healers will do everything to kill you; they don't want a Lycan to be added to our blood.”
But, I heard a noise, and I felt my headache. What is happening?
“Leah, I trust you. And I know that I will see you in months.” I groaned when I felt electricity on my chest.
