Brandon's point of view
“Samantha,” She was about to turn her back on me but she stopped when she heard me shouting her name.
“Why are you doing this?” I asked, which surprised her. I still believe what Leah told me, she didn't want Samantha to get killed by someone.
“Alpha Brandon, do I need to have a reason if I want to do this? I don't think so. Because it's part of the rules, I need to be alive to find him, so I need a man to stay here inside of this mansion.”
“Who's the man that you're talking about? Do you have a lover outside of this mansion?”
“I had but he didn't remember me. Let me tell you this, there's a lot of gossip that I was kidnapping a man to help me conceive a child but it's all a lie. Are you aware of the illusion? This mansion has a lot of illusion, this was my master's doing.”
“You're master?” Samantha nodded her head, she began to walk away from me so I started following her. She cleared her throat before she glance my way.
“Yeah. My master wants me to stay here forever. He caged me in this fucking mansion so I won't find him. I know you're aware that I am a witch, right? He's the one who teaches me how to use magic or even spells. But everything didn't turn out smoothly when I met Favio, my master wants to marry me but I don't want it. So, he told all of the magicians that I am the bad one, and he cursed me.”
“He built this mansion for me,” she added. Samantha's eyes were glowing, and she pointed her finger at the corner.
“Amoux was there, he was sleeping smoothly, and I am sure that he was dreaming that he fucked my ass.”
“You didn't have sex with him?”
“Of course not. Amoux was handsome but I don't like him as my man. He's too childish, and I don't like it when a man treated a woman like a fuck buddy.” I laughed out loud when Samantha's words were full of sarcasm.
“You're cool.”
“I am, but Alpha Brandon, I want to be frank with you that you aren't my type. So, if you want to have sex with me, you will fail to seduce me.”
“You're the one who was bathing in the lake when I saw you. I think I was the one who will be scared if you force me to do that to you.”
“It's because I intentionally did that, I know that Alpha Leah wants to rescue Amoux here.”
“Oh, it means you already know me but you acted like you didn't.”
“I apologize for hurting your ego, but yes. I'm aware of everything, I may be stuck here in this mansion, but I can still use my power, but it's too limited.”
“You can use your power but why can't you free yourself from here?”
“Because I need to find Favio, I need him so I can finally be free here. He's the key that I need to find.”
“Are you sure about that? It looks like you aren't young at all, no offense. Maybe, Favio was dead.”
Samantha's face was full of sorrow, she avoided her eyes on me then she raised her hands which made us switch to a different place inside the mansion. I saw thousands of books on the shelf and there was an elegant chandelier hanging on the ceiling. Samantha was wearing her long gown, while she was going down.
“I think that he might be dead, and maybe he didn't want to find me.” Samantha's voice was grieving, she blinked her eyes, and I saw tears forming in her eyes.
“I'm sorry if I did say that.”
“Well, you're lucky because you're the only man who didn't sleep when you entered this mansion. It means you aren't weak, and you love someone.”
“Are you telling me that Amoux doesn't love Leah, so that's why he fell asleep?”
“Amoux had a feeling for his mate, but not like yours. And I'm right because you're willing to sacrifice yourself for Leah even though you know that Amoux was her mate. It's selfless love, and Leah will be lucky to have you.”
“What about Amoux?”
“He had a feeling for Leah, but he was more eager to take the crown. What do you think would happen if Amoux decided to accept Leah? What would happen when Amoux marked her?”
“I think they will be happy, especially Leah.”
“I don't think so, because there's a lot of werewolves who don't like the idea that one of the Sergio will mate a healer.” I paused when I heard Samantha say the word healer. Does she mean that Leah was a healer?
“Oh, you're surprised? It looks like you don't even know about her identity after she revives you.” Samantha shook her head, raised her hand then a big book was coming into her hand. I can't believe that seeing someone using power like this was too fascinating.
“Leah Vuk was part of the Vuk family. This family was the head of the healers, and all of the healers in this world loathed the Lycan's bloodline so much. Sergio wants all of the healers to abuse their healing abilities. And, for sure, the new head of healers discovered that one of the healers again was mated to one of the Sergio.”
“Let me tell you that healers were too aggressive and their willingness to do anything to stop their relationship. Even if it causes someone's life.” Samantha opened the book, smirked at me, and then gave me the book.
I hesitated at first to get the book but there was something inside of me that pushed me to read it. I saw a logo of the leaf, and I even read Leah's last name as written in the book.
“Healers love writing about their life in books. Because they can pass it to the next generation once they die. So, are you sure that you want to stay here? What about Leah?”
“I know that Amoux will protect her.”
“You're wrong.”
“What are you talking about?”
“It's your problem to find out about this. But for now, I want you to take away Amoux here. Your companions were waiting outside of the mansion.”
“Are you not scared that I will—”
“I wasn't because I know that if you will run away from me, then leave Amoux here. You can't both leave here, because it's part of the rules.”
I slowly nodded, then I was shocked when I was in the bedroom where Amoux was sleeping. I saw him lying on the bed, and snoring like a pig.
I immediately carried Amoux and took him out of the mansion. I saw that the barrier was shaking, and noticed that Damon was there. His eyes widened when he saw Amoux. I thought that Samantha was just joking but when I tried to leave with Amoux. There's a strong barrier trying to prevent me.
“Alpha Brandon, what is happening? How can you two leave that place?” Damon shouted and he panicked. I saw Kairo and Adam running toward me but they weren't successful in their plans.
“I need to choose, get Amoux, I need to be left here.” I sighed when I felt unhappy about this, I don't want to miss Leah, and what about my pack?
“No! You can come with us, I don't want Leah to get mad at me!” Damon tried to break the barrier but he couldn't. So, I put Amoux on the ground and moved away from him. The barrier was moving also, and it was following me.
“Help Amoux. Then tell Leah that I can't come back in her pack because there was a rule about this mansion, once Amoux will be free from here, I need to stay here.”
“Alpha Brandon,” Kairo shouted, and I closed my eyes.
“Thomas, if you hear this mindlink, I want you to find the man named Favio, he's the man that Samantha loved from the very start. I need him to break the curse. I trust you about our pack.” I said to Thomas using the mind link, I was secretly hoping that he gets the message.
“The mansion will vanish again. Come here now, Alpha Brandon.” Samantha shouted and when I was about to turn to look at Kairo, I saw the barrier slowly moving toward me so I ran inside the mansion.
“ALPHA BRANDON!” They keep shouting my name but they can't find me. That means when the mansion vanished, I was too.
“Are you hurt that you need to sacrifice yourself to your rival?”
“No. I was hurt that I didn't get to see Leah.”
“You're such a martyr, Alpha Brandon. Don't worry, I know that Alpha Leah will come here.”
“But for now, you should read a book inside the library that talks about the healers and a disease that makes them dead.”
