When Lorenzo's thoughts began to cloud my mind again, I reached out for the wine to drink it in a gulp. I shouldn't be acting this way. After all, I was here to move on from Lorenzo King. Jason was an interesting guy, always knew how to spark conversations. Hence, I had to listen to all the nonsense that he was saying or laughing about.
Suddenly,Jason pulled his eyes behind me, taking a name that surprised me,
" Mr.King! I have always wanted to meet you!"
Jason surprised me by standing up and extending his hand to the man who was walking this way. I had a feeling that the world no longer existed around me anymore. I was floating in the air.
Finally, my worst fear had come true. That familiar presence was enough to give me a heart attack.Lorenzo came to stop by our table in his domineering presence. Jason beamed into happiness as he greeted eagerly,
" Thank you for stopping by. Mr.King, meet my girlfriend, Valentina."
My jaw dropped, hanging open speechlessly. When I looked up to face him, his eyes had turned murderous. When did I become his girlfriend? What the fuck this guy was saying?
Before I could say anything, Lorenzo's deep emotionless voice echoed with sarcasm,
" Oh! Your girlfriend must be very unwelcoming to the outsiders?"
Fuck! He was pulling my legs!
I got up stumbling, feeling Jason's questioning eyes on me. Taking a deep breath, I forced a smile on my face to greet back,
" He.. Hello, Mr.King! "
Jason added with a grin, too enthusiastic to see Lorenzo appearing in front of our table,
" My girlfriend is a little shy!"
I almost cursed out loud but the following moment, Lorenzo spoke with dark humor,
" I can see that! So shy!"
It was suffocating with his arrival. Forcing a smile on my face, I replied shortly,
" If you don't mind..We are having a private time, Mr. King!"
Clearly, I didn't want him to be disturbing here. After receiving my indirect signal, his eyes went dark for a while but he left after bidding farewell. I sat down on the chair numbly after he was gone. However, I knew that I was going to be watched.
After the food was served, Jason personally served it for me. My hand stretched out to get the sauce bottle. Due to distraction, it slipped on my lap, staining my new dress.
Fuck! Emily is going to kill me!
I muttered the irritated, cleaning the dress with the tissue,
" Gosh...Why am I so careless?"
Jason suggested kindly, looking at the big stain marks on my dress,
" That's a whole big mark. Go into the bathroom first. Call me if you need anything."
I dragged myself up to the bathroom, forgetting to take the purse with me. As I came to the bathroom, I realized that I was alone here. However, the feeling of being watched returned into my subconscious mind again.
