My rage flared up when a few security guards rushed on my way to get me. Luka sounded mad too, growling at Nana who kept staring down at my face hatefully,
" Nana!! She is LORENZO's woman! Don't forget that!!"
Nana rebuked sharply, scoffing back at Luka,
" She is just a hired woman!! She doesn't deserve to be my Lorenzo's woman. Looks like you two are bewitched by her!!"
Luka attempted to say something again but my patience ran out of limit. I pulled myself forward to face her, spoke in a cold, menacing voice,
" What makes you think that you can stop me? Yes, I am not qualified to be Lorenzo's woman but I am fucking carrying his child. Can't you see that?? If someone deserves to meet Lorenzo first, it's me. Whether you accept it or not, I am Lorenzo King's woman because his heir is growing into my stomach. No one.. including you can't kick me out of here."
The corridor fell silent after my response. Even Luka seemed surprised and Emily gave me a thumbs up. In no way, I was going to leave Lorenzo here alone. He needed me here. Before Nana had the chance to say anything, a nurse dashed out of Lorenzo's room to shout at us,
" Who is Valentina? Mr.King is looking for her. Please come inside..."
Relief washed over me when I heard that Lorenzo was looking for me. I ignored everyone's surroundings and went into his ward hurriedly. The man who seemed tough like a mountain was groaning on the bed weakly. His voice sounded above whisper as he kept chanting one name again and again,
" Val..Valen..tina.. Don't..go.. Don't leave me.. please.."
I choked on my tears to hold it back behind my throat. Even in this critical condition, he was worried that I would leave him. How could I bear to leave this man who loved me with everything?
I held up his hands tightly and promised in a broken voice,
" I..I won't.. Lorenzo.. ever...I promise..I will never leave you again..Even if you kick me out.. I won't go.."
As if he had listened to my words, he stopped blabbering the next moment and held my hands tighter. I heard Luka's firm words from outdoors, probably speaking to Nana,
" Nana please.. Lorenzo needs Valentina at this moment..If you try to push things on him, I will have no choice but to use the authority..As a doctor, my patient's health is my priority.."
I sighed in relief when Nana went out angrily without trying to break me apart from Lorenzo. Thinking about how he was suffering, tears rolled down from my eyes. I placed a hand on my stomach subconsciously and said with tears,
" Baby.. I am sorry..I hurt your father...."
Thankfully, Luka took the permission for the night. I was allowed to spend the night with Lorenzo in the hospital, consistently praying to hear his voice again because Luka said that he wasn't out of danger yet.
