My Rejected Mate And Our Secret Triplets Chapter 25

Chapter 25

***NOLAN***

"Yes. I'll get you a gift, I promise," He nodded and picked up his fork to continue eating. He was completely avoiding the gaze of my mom and I could get the tension in the air right now. He was always so playful and always teasing everyone so it was so strange to see Jordan like this.

My mom was still staring at him and I was curious about what she was thinking of. She opened her mouth to try to say something, but she closed them and sighed.

Still staring at Jordan, she shook her head and finally decided to speak.

"And I don't care if you want to open up and talk to me, you can continue to brood for as long as you like," my mom said and he dropped his fork again, sighing, "but you can't keep sitting around all summer." She added with a serious glare that indicated she has already had enough of his attitude.

"What do you want me to do, it's summer and I'm on a break," he replied, sighing as he dropped his fork and looked up at my mom

"You didn't say the same thing last year, so I don't know what's gotten over you now," my mom replied and she was getting angry already.

"Olivia will be helping me and Sarah to plan the Summer play and Jordan has a job. You can't be sitting around doing nothing all day," she stated and I glanced at the both of them one after the other continuously.

"You have to get a job. I've spoken to Mr. Simon at the Park and there are spots open for you, see him today," she said, with that authoritative glare I feared so much. I looked at Jordan, waiting for his response as he stared at her.

"Yes," He simply replied and looked down at his plate.

She looked away and as she glanced at Olivia who was still gushing over the handbag I gifted her, the smile on my mom's face returned.

"Nol, I was talking to Sarah today, and Phillip will be going to Princeton today for registration," she said and I nodded to show I was listening.

"Since we'll not be going to the beach with Olivia today, I was thinking maybe you could follow him, see how the place is, and familiarize yourself with it since you want to go there," she said and I nodded.

"Sure," I replied and she nodded with a smile before picking up her phone and sending a text.

After we were done eating, I stood up so I could help clean up, but my mom stopped me.

"Olivia, can you assist Jordan to clean up, I need to talk to Nol," she said and they both stood up. They packed up the dishes and carried them to the kitchen.

"Jordan, no eavesdropping," she said, tapping her right ear with her finger. She meant he shouldn't use his Vampire hearing sense to listen from the kitchen.

If he tried it, she'll know. She was really good at magic and she'll sense it.

"Have you spoken to your dad recently?" She asked.

My dad was a Wolf my mom had a short-lived affair with before she met her Vampire Mate, Olivia, and Jordan's dad.

She was part Vampire and part Witch so she was bound to be with my stepdad.

Jordan was a Vampire like their dad, Olivia got my mom's magic powers, and I am a Wolf like my dad.

Every day I wish I had taken something from my mom instead. It would have made my life so much more easier.

"Last month," I replied.

I was going to be 18 soon and my wolf will manifest. Then, it won't be safe and I can't stay here at the Vamp clan again. I would have to go join my dad at his Pack.

"You're going to be 18 soon and before you go to college, you need to be part of a Pack so you don't go Rogue," she said and I nodded.

"Yes, I understand."

PRESENTLY.

"He's with me," I said to the guards and they nodded, letting him through.

"They have a pretty good grip," Dylan said and I glanced at him to see him rubbing his right shoulder.

"I was able to fight them off for a while before they caught me though," he said and I chuckled.

"Yeah, I'm sure you gave them a pretty good fight," I said sarcastically and he laughed.

We continued walking for a while and when we got far away enough from the border or where the guards could see us, I stopped walking.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I asked, throwing my hands up in the air.

"I told you to wait for me, no one except the guards was supposed to see me bring you in," I said, rolling my eyes at him.

"Well, no one did," Dylan replied, pointing around.

"They called the Alpha to confirm what you said, and he knows someone came here to see me," I retorted.

"You're the Beta, aren't you? Why couldn't they call you to confirm?" He asked, raising his eyebrows questioningly.

"I don't know," I said, holding my hands out and shrugging, "I'm new here, I don't think they have my contact yet."

"The point is you should have waited till I was there to get you so I could bring you in myself," I said, trying to keep my voice down as much as possible.

He sighed in defeat, "Fine, I'm sorry. I was restless and roaming around cause I was anxious to see you," he said and a smile slowly formed on his lips.

He moved a bit closer to me and bit his lips. He was about to kiss me, but I pulled him into a hug instead and looked around.

"We're standing in the middle of the road, you can't do that here," I whispered and broke the hug.

"Let's go."
