My Rejected Mate And Our Secret Triplets Chapter 46

Chapter 46

***JACK***

Reporter: Many more of these creatures have appeared in Baltimore and the police are trying to hold them off and protect civilians.

I flinched as I watched the clip of zombie-looking creatures landing out of nowhere in the middle of the road and attacking people in their cars.

I picked up the remote and changed the channel.

"Guns are not working on these creatures, and there's barely anything the Police can do to them," a man on the screen in an interview showed making frantic gestures with his hands.

"Yes Dave, the United States military needs to intervene and use more force against them," another man said.

"Baltimore is 35 miles away from D.C. How long till those creatures get here? I think Baltimore should be locked off for now to protect everyone else," Dave said and I nodded in support.

We don't know who they are or why they suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Until we know how to kill these creatures, it's better if they are kept away from other states.

"You're not suggesting Baltimore is turned into a Quarantine zone, are you?" A woman at the table asked.

I picked up the remote again and switched the channel.

"Dr. Bane is an expert in Meta-Biology and he will be talking about the recent appearance of creatures who have caused unrest in Baltimore," a woman said and I sat up so I could listen attentively.

"Thank you," Dr. Bane said.

"According to a source I have, these creatures are Vampires and they have existed for as long as Humans," he explained and I scoffed.

There's no way, Vampires are myths. Those things are humans that have been experimented on and it went wrong.

"Then where have they been all these years?" The interviewer asked.

"Vampires have stayed hidden and they live in groups called Clans, some of them have blended with us Humans," he replied.

"According to my source, these Vampires attacking have been affected by a Vampire disease that makes them erratic and lose control of themselves," he continued and I glanced at my phone screen where I had a clip of an attack.

What if he was telling the truth?

"A disease? Can this disease affect humans too?" The interviewer asked.

"No, we have different biology, but this disease is airborne and the sooner we can work with the healthy ones to create a cure, the better."

"Be careful or you're going to get yourself injured!" I heard Larissa shout from upstairs. I muted the news and looked back to see Dave, Daniel, and Diana run down the stairs.

As Diana jumped down, she looked up to face her brothers with a victorious smile.

"Ha! I won!" I smiled and stood up to meet them.

She was a girl, but she liked to do the same things her brother did.

It was Larissa's graduation day and she was upstairs getting ready.

"You're gonna get yourself hurt," I said and held both hands in mine.

"You cut yourself yesterday, and you got us scared," I said and she frowned.

"That reminds me, let me take a look at it," I said and looked at the bottom of her left arm, but I couldn't find any injury.

I thought I missed the arm , so I checked her right arm, but there was no cut there either.

"It's gone!" She said excitedly and I stood up straight, blinking multiple times as I tried to understand how the cut could have disappeared overnight.

I was thinking about it when Larissa appeared on the stairs.

"Go to the car, we'll meet you there, and be careful," I said to the kids and they all ran out the door. I shook my head and looked at Larissa.

She looked so stunning in the black dress she wore.

"When is Margaret going to get here?" She asked, snapping me out of the trance I was in. Margaret went to a three-day seminar-workshop that ended today.

"She called. She can't get here on time so she's going to meet us at the school," I replied and I went to grab my car keys on the TV stand.

I saw Larissa staring at the TV and I looked at it to see the interview was still on.

"Who knew that Vampire creatures exist?" I asked with an amused smile.

"Makes me wonder what other supernatural creatures have been able to hide from us all this time? Ghouls? Zombies? Werewolves? Fairies?" I asked and I noticed she was still looking at the screen.

"Larissa?"

"Yes, sorry, I was just thinking about the poor lives they have taken," she said, blinking and facing me with a smile.

"Yeah, it's sad," I replied and turned off the TV before we both went out to the car.

"It's starting soon, where is she?" Larissa asked. She had been glancing at the door since we got here.

"Let me call her," I said and reached for my phone in my pocket to dial my mom's number.

The phone rang for only a few sec before she picked up the call.

"Jack, sorry, tell her I'll be there soon. There's traffic, but we're taking a faster route now," my mom's voice echoed out of the phone and I could hear moving vehicles in the background.

"Alright, it's about to start," I said.

"Yes, we'll get ther-"

I heard a sudden loud banging sound coming from the other side of the phone.

"Mom?"

"Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!" I heard a scream from my mom and my eyes darted at Larissa who also looked shocked as she heard it too.

"Mom?" I asked and stood up immediately.

"Aaaaaahhh!" I heard her scream again and it was followed by an animalistic snarl and growl.

What was happening?

I began walking out of the row where we said immediately.

"Stay here," I heard Larissa say to the kids as she followed me out of the hall.

"Mom? Mom?" I didn't hear her voice again, but I could still hear the snarls of an animal and the background sounded like there was a commotion with a lot of horns blaring and crashing sounds.

My mind went to the news and the diseased Vampires attacking people.

Oh My God, No!
