Umbrie was shocked after the kiss and she disengaged the moment she caught what was happening. Her heart was beating fast as they both turned around and did a bow without making eye contact.
Terry wore a smirk on his face looking as fearless as possible. He knew what he had done and he was glad he pulled it off.
"What on earth.... That jerk!" Umbrie cussed wiping her lips with the back of her hand. They were back stage and were pulling off their costumes.
"Do you think your boyfriend saw that?" Daphne asked closely following behind her.
"Gosh...Keiran. I don't know if he saw that." Umbrie mumbled while rubbing her lips even more. She was convinced his kiss would erase this way.
"That wasn't in the script. Terry is such a jerk." Daphne scoffed folding her hands.
"I don't know what came over him. Mr Sebastian seemed so happy about that shitty act. I guess he is the one that encouraged him to kiss me on stage." Umbrie pointed out.
"He is not the one. He has directed several plays for this school and none of them has ever involved a kiss." Daphne figured correctly.
"There's a first time for everything, don't you think?" Umbrie questioned finding it so bizarre.
Her friend shrugged her shoulders not having a definite answer.
"I could sue him for this, right?" Umbrie asked cutting her off guard.
"What?"
"It's obviously s-xual harassment. He took advantage of our closeness to kiss me without permission. He could go to jail for that." Umbrie continued.
"Whoa, girl. You need to relax. Suing someone is really a big deal, don't you know? Besides, it's all about acting. You decided to be on this set." Daphne said.
"I know! I'm just thinking about how Keiran might feel. It makes me want to go smack Terry. Just when things are going great, he had to do this in front of everyone." Umbrie whined.
"Stop thinking too much. He probably would understand. I have to go home now, my step mother called and she wants us to watch movies all night. It's weird but I think I'll survive and get used to it." Daphne replied.
"Aww. That is practically cute. Have fun, Daph." Umbrie waved and they embraced each other before the latter left.
Daphne and her stepmother has been having stronger communication. It was not tight but was better than the previous month since they met each other. Daphne's father was still in jail and hasn't had his first trial yet.
Daphne is afraid that he might succeed in bailing himself out.
After having a change of clothes, Umbrie left the auditorium alone amidst the rowdy people. She clutched onto her backpack which contained the shoes she wore on stage.
Through out her stay in highschool, she has never had this much fun or participated in anything. She has been a loner and she didn't matter to anyone but this time around, she had people to talk to. Daphne, Keiran, Ace and Hillary. Even Sherry was on her list because she hung out with her during lunch.
"Going already? I thought your drama team are going to a bar?" A voice asked from behind and she turned around to see Keiran leaning on the hood of his car.
Umbrie's eyes widened as she remembered what happened with Terry.
She wasn't expecting Keiran to sound so casual tho.
"I'm exhausted." She lied forming a tired look.
"It's cool. I'll drop you home. The weather is weird tho." Keiran remarked and she walked towards him.
They entered the car and he turned on the engine.
"I warned Terry. He didn't listen. Everything in his school bag are currently floating on the pool at the swimming hall. Should I feel bad for him?" Keiran asked making her raise her brows.
"You warned Terry?"
Shoot. So, that's the reason he was behaving strange during that rehearsal. He didn't want to touch her at all. But what gave him confidence during the actual performance of the play?
He didn't respond but kept driving.
"I wasn't expecting that to happen. I'm sorry, Keiran." Umbrie said with a sad sigh.
"Don't apologize. It's all good." He replied and smiled sweetly at her.
She returned the smile although it wasn't wholeheartedly.
He parked the car in front of her house and they stepped out together. Sky walked out from the door carrying his school bag.
"Sky, why are you outside? Where's mom?" Umbrie asked going close to him.
"She said there was an emergency and left with dad. She told me to hide and wait for you." Sky replied and she wrapped his hands around him in a hug.
"You scared me." Umbrie muttered.
'What sort of emergency would there possibly be for them to leave him all alone in the house?' Keiran asked Umbrie through the mind link.
'I don't know. Let's find out.' She replied him and they both exchanged glances.
They pulled out their phones and checked in to the private group chat for their pack members.
There was a last text sent by Alpha Damien.
THE PACK IS UNDER ATTACK BY ROGUES.
"Oh my God! We need to get there." Umbrie said leading Sky into the car.
"No." Keiran retorted.
"No?"
"It's risky going there. We are not yet trained for that. Let them handle their business."
"I'm going there, no matter what. Even i have to run all the way there."
"What about Sky?" Keiran argued.
Umbrie stopped for a beat and looked at her helpless ten years old brother.
"Please, Keiran. Let's just go there." She whimpered and shut the door. She rushed the other way around and entered the passengers seat.
Keiran reluctantly entered cussing under his breath. He started the car and drove into the night. He was driving as fast as he could.
Umbrie tried calling Jared but he wasn't answering — no one was answering.
"Your mother is at the pack house. She's unconscious. We have to make sure she's safe." Umbrie worriedly said.
"I.don't.care." Keiran coldly remarked.
He looked out the window and saw a wolf running across the woods. He immediately pulled up the window glass. He didn't tell Umbrie about what he saw so he wouldn't end up scaring her.
They finally arrived at the pack house which was very chaotic. Everything was being turned apart and wolves were tearing themselves apart. They snuck out of the car and entered the main building. Umbrie held on to Sky tightly. Making their way into the room where Mrs Diaz - Keiran's mom was, Umbrie sighed in relief.
"She's still here — safe and sound." She muttered.
"She's not safe, she will die soon." Keiran coldly remarked gazing at his unconscious mother whom had many life supporting equipment attached to her body.
Umbrie rolled her eyes and they approached the woman together.
There was so much noise and commotion going on outside that they could barely hear themselves.
All of a sudden, there was an earsplitting sound of a gunshot outside. Fear engulfed Sky and he clutched tightly onto Umbrie.
"Let's get the h-ll out of here, Umbrie!" Keiran glowered expecting the worst to soon go down.
"We can't leave her here like this...!" Umbrie cried out.
Without thinking twice about it, Umbrie stretched out Sky's hand and dropped it on Mrs Diaz's hand.
Immediately Sky concentrated, his powers became active and he healed her.
Mrs Diaz's eyes opened instantly shocking Keiran.
His head spun on realizing what had just happened. Whom had just healed his mom.
"Umbrie!" Mrs Diaz gasped sitting up.
"The pack is under att—"
The doors bursted open interrupting her speech. A wolf entered baring it's sharp teeth and the nose flaring with so much ferocity.
With one look at it, Keiran gasped.
"That wolf is Louis!" He said getting prepared to shift and fight him off but his mother pushed him backwards.
She got in front of them and shifted into her wolf form speedily.
Sky hid his face against Umbrie's back in fear.
The two wolves began fighting and although Mrs Diaz had the upper hand at first, Louis gradually hurry her more because he had been training constantly. Mrs Diaz rarely turned into her wolf form so she wasn't energized in it. Louis mostly attacked her face, scratching her and biting her flesh which spread blood marks around.
Keiran watched but his mind was cooking up an escape plan. He wanted to save Umbrie and his brother and so he did the unthinkable.
He kicked Louis to pounce on his mother and he grabbed Umbrie and Sky running out of the house with them.
"Get in!" He yelled pushing them into the back seat. Then he hopped into the driver's seat and drove off in full speed.
Umbrie was shocked by the time she recovered from the fierceness Keiran had executed in just a short time.
Umbrie lifted her head and then she yelled angrily,
"Keiran!!!"
