He turned around and shot her a cold look.
"What?" He asked in the most calm voice despite the chaos they just encountered.
"Your mom! You left her behind. Why would you do that?" Umbrie half yelled in a nagging voice.
"She wanted us to be safe. What's so bad in her sacrificing herself for us? I wanted to help but she stopped me so I'm obviously interpreting what she wants me to do." Keiran replied taking a sharp bend which caused them to stir around in the car.
She quickly put a seatbelt on Sky wishing he wasn't witnessing their argument.
"Where are we going?" Umbrie yelled noticing the car doors had been locked by Keiran.
He doesn't reply her but kept driving.
She was fuming and was very pissed with him so she ignored him too. There was silence in the car which lasted through out the ride.
Two hours has passed and Keiran was still moving. He had stopped by a gas station to fill up his tank. Umbrie and Sky had fallen asleep in the backseat.
Keiran had the atmosphere to himself and he was able to pull through after buying coffee.
They arrived at Noglar, a neighboring town to Ice Valley. There was no werewolf pack in Noglar and it only consisted of pure humans. The city is so neat that not even Rogues go there. It's a different world on it's own...
Keiran looked at the duo sleeping at the backseat. He thought of pressing the horn loudly so it would wake Umbrie up in the most annoying way but one glance at Sky, he changed his mind.
He tapped on them instead and they woke up.
"Come here, buddy." Keiran cooed carrying Sky into his arms. Umbrie followed, aggressively walking behind him.
The neighborhood was dark and shady. They were in a building of flats with trash cans and stray cats and dogs hanging around. Umbrie was freezing but used her hands for warmth.
They climbed up a few stair case before getting to their apartment which surprisingly, Keiran had a key to it.
They entered the cozy place and locked the doors.
If the building wasn't so old, the apartment would have been good looking. It was one of Keiran's getaways when he ran away for the first time. He spent a week there and still has access to it.
Sky, whom was awake snuggled on the couch covered with a blanket. He was watching the graphics on the wall since there was no television.
Keiran turned around and left the apartment without speaking to Umbrie.
She couldn't care less because she didn't want to hear his voice. He did something unforgivable and it just makes her more heartbroken that he thinks her opinion is worthless.
After a long time of waiting, she got bored and went to the window near their balcony. She stared outside to the building facing there's.
It was similar to their own building.
Her eyes roamed around the flat windows. Suddenly, she made contact with a man sitting by his window and rubbing his member in a form of self s*x.
Her eyes widened in shock and for some reason, the man didn't look away but held her stare in a lustful gaze.
At that moment, a strong hand yanked her off from the window and clamped the windows shut.
"What the heck is wrong with you?" He barked visibly angry.
"I should be asking you! Someone who kicked a raging psychopath to kill his own mom. You are not different from Louis. You are so mean!" She yelled back pointing accusatory fingers.
"Do you think I'm happy right now? You kept the truth about Sky being able to heal people from me! You always wanted me to be open but you also have secrets lurking behind your lips." Keiran shot back curtly.
"If I told you, I would be risking Sky's identity. It's a family secret. You don't expect me to break it easily. And this doesn't change what you did to your mother, you monster!" She replied pushing him off by his chest.
"I'm really trying to be myself around you but you make it difficult!" He screamed glaring at her.
"I know, right? I was stupid to think you would ever treat me better. Or we would ever be happy together. You were right then. We should split up! We are too different and the moon goddess obviously wants to punish me by making you my mate!" Umbrie blurted out.
"What?"
"You heard me. I don't want this anymore. I give up! You can do whatever you want. Once this chaos is over, we are going out separate ways." She added as tears gathered around her eyes.
She can't believe Jared was right. And she literally held onto him like a desperate pick me girl. She sacrificed her ego, time, image just to make it work out but now it feels like a total nonsense.
"No... We can't do that. We can work this out. We don't have to break up..." Keiran said with a pained look.
"Just stay away from me." Umbrie muttered.
"Would you come, let's it." Sky said interrupting them.
The two stared at him simultaneously.
"I'm not hungry." They replied and looked at each other in disdain.
Sky and Umbrie freshened up and shared a room together. While Keiran laid on the couch being on guard in case anything happens.
He was almost asleep when a knock came on the door.
Keiran sat up immediately and watched the door for a while wondering who it was. Since they're far away from home, no rogues would have possibly been able to track them down.
There was no peep hole on the door for him to check through.
The knock came on again and he cussed out loud. He should be prepared for anything!
He tip toed to the kitchen and grabbed a knife before returning back to the door.
He heard a sound and looked over to see Umbrie standing near to the door to the room they slept in. She looked sleepy and her eyes were half open.
Pulling his attention back to the door, he opened it slowly. He quickly hid the knife into his pants on seeing the landlady outside. She wore a smile and was holding a food flask in her hand.
Keiran signaled Umbrie to hide and when she caught the signal, it was already too late.
The landlady had seen her and she looked curiously at Keiran.
"Who is she?" She questioned stepping into the apartment.
"She is my sister — Umbrie." Keiran replied instantly thereby shocking Umbrie whom didn't expect the comeback.
"Oh...How are you, my dear?" The landlady in her mid 40's asked beaming again.
"I'm fine, thank you." Umbrie replied moving closer.
Keiran clamped the door shut after looking around the hallway.
"I was surprised when I was told you were back, Keiran. It's so strange that you bought the apartment and left after a month. I respected our agreement and didn't rent it to anyone." The lady said as she was ushered to sit on the couch.
"I've been at school." Keiran answered rubbing the back of his head.
"That's good all the same. I brought you some of my porridge. Do share with your sister." She offered dropping the flask on the desk.
"Thank you so much." Keiran and Umbrie both said simultaneously.
They exchanged glances but Umbrie was quick to look away.
The landlady chuckled. "You are welcome. Go to bed now."
She got up and Keiran escorted her out of the apartment.
"You are really quick to lying." Umbrie said whilst rolling her eyes at him.
"I'm sorry, Umbrie but I don't want her to start spying on us if I tell her we were dating. She'd definitely not be at peace with that." He pointed out biting his lower lip.
"We are not dating. We are no longer together. Do I really have to explain it to you? I'm tired of your arse. You could just tell her that I would be gone in the morning." She blunted with a facial expression.
"Stop being so difficult. You just have to rest from all the stress, okay?"
"Go to h*ll, Keiran. Seeing your face makes me sick." She spat before walking back into her bedroom.
"She wants to leave tomorrow morning? No way. I'm not letting that happen. I don't care if she hates me the more. She's not going anywhere." Keiran muttered thinking of a plan.
He shuffled for keys from the drawers and when he got a hold of them, he locked the door where the duo were sleeping in.
After that, he returned to his couch.
'She won't do anything crazy in her wolf form because she won't risk exposing us to innocent people.' Keiran thought.
He laid on the couch exhausted from the day's ride. He slept off dreaming about Sky and how he healed his mother. It was something he had never seen before.

Next Morning

Keiran woke up with the birds chirping from the windows in the apartment. To his surprise, he had a good night sleep without hearing Umbrie scream because he locked the doors to her room.
He slipped up from the couch and grabbed his phone. He stepped out to the balcony and dialed Alpha Damien's number.
He answered almost immediately.
"Keiran, I've been calling you." Damien said in a rough breath.
"I switched off my phone. How are things at the pack house?" He asked.
"Well, the war is over and we were able to scare them off. Do you happen to know where Umbrie and Sky are? Umbrie's not answering since last night."
"Yeah, they are here with me. She lost her phone while we were escaping."
"Where are you guys?"
"We will be back. Don't worry." Keiran replied and turned off the phone. He switched it off completely before disassembling the phone.
He tossed it on the ground and stepped on it.
He's not going back until he has fixed his relationship with Umbrie. Maybe they needed a break and fate was finally providing them with one. He knows he has caused her so much trouble but after everything they had done together, he doesn't want to let her go. She succeeded in making him fall for her so that's exactly what she will have to deal with.
He knows he can fix it.
He returned back to the apartment and saw the door still shut. But there was no noise around.
He feared the worse. Did she runaway from the window? But the windows are too small...
