"After fighting with Sahan, I noticed something weird. My wounds don't recover well and my body doesn't feel like it's my own." She said as she turned to her back and unbuttoned her shirt.
Kaiwan was surprised when she lowered the shirt to reveal her back. "Do you think you could take a look?"
He lowered his gaze as he raised a hand to stop her.
"Wait a sec...put on your clothes. I understand your situation but think rationally for a second. Why are you suddenly acting like this?"
He was forced to raise up his head when she coughed as she dropped to the floor with a thud and he hurried over to her, resisting the urge to touch her.
"Are you okay?"
She coughed. "It's hurts...after returning from the restaurant, my body feels like it's burning up...right now..."
"What?"
"I think I'm going... to die if I don't drink...someone's blood right now..."
He sighed. "Zuriña, you have hung in there all this while. I understand that you're in pain but please try to hold on a bit longer. You know that once you drink someone's blood, you'll become addicted."
"Don't you know, detective? I've been holding it together my whole life. I couldn't drink anything even when my throat felt like it was going to rip apart from the thirst. I couldn't sleep from the pain. Have you ever experienced that?" She yelled.
He slowly pulled up her shirt to cover her. "But you know better than anyone, Zuriña. You can't drink another person's blood. If it will make you feel better..." He said as he raised his hand to lower the neck of his top. "...drink my blood instead."
He was shocked when she grabbed his neck and pinned him to the floor and was over in less than a minute. Now that was really weird, What was going on with her today?
"If you get bitten by me..." she was saying as she grazed her fangs down his neck. "...don't regret your decision."
"I don't say anything I'm not willing to follow through with. If this will make you feel better, then so be it." He said and he felt the sharp end of her fangs on his neck.
She suddenly released him which took him by surprise.
"Zuriña..."
"I feel better now." She said as she rose and turned to leave. "Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
A cold shiver ran down his back as he slammed his fist against the table once she had left. How could that have happened? That girl looked so identical to Zuriña and she didn't even reek of blood so it had been difficult for him to notice.
It was definitely Ash, a part of him said. She was the next angel of death after Sahan but did that means she could change into anyone whenever she wanted to?
The door opened and he flinched on sighting Zuriña. "Detective, I have something to tell you..." She said and he turned to walk away from her.
"What's wrong?" She asked and made to approach him when he raised his hand to stop her.
"Don't move and answer my questions. How many bowls did we have at the restaurant?"
She frowned. "The two of us?...Six bowls"
"And out of those six bowls, how many did I eat?" He asked.
"About four bowls." She replied and he sighed. So it was indeed Zuriña.
"You pass...an angel of death striked first." He said as he walked over to her and her crown deepened.
"An angel of death?"
"Yeah, I think Ash is behind it." He said and she nodded.
"I think we should make a visit to the orphanage there has to be something leading to Ash, there."
"Think about your appearance...why do you keep over acting in front of the camera? Do you want to be a celebrity or something?...Stop trying to be cool and just do your job." Gang member No.1 yelled at the set the following evening.
Ash sighed as her makeup artist applied the powder to her face. That evening's yelling was getting on her nerves.
"The director keeps getting mad at me because of you. It's good to have a dream and all that but take a look at yourself in the mirror. If you're going to be gang member No.3 then asked like gang member No.3."
"I think we're done here." Ariel told her makeup artist and rose headed for the gang member one.
"If anything happens..."
"It's so loud in here." She retorted, flipping her hair as she walked past him.
"What?" He frowned and turned to her.
"What? Did I do something wrong?" She asked.
"I definitely heard you say something about me being loud...you were talking to me, right?" She shook her head. "I never said anything of sort."
He cracked his fingers and said. "Miss, are you going to be okay with today's action scene. You should use a stunt double, those things will be difficult for you..."He looked at high heels with a scoff. "... they're even harder with high heels so leave it to the professionals and follow their advice. Don't get too confident and overdo it. I'm not going to be responsible if you get hurt while filming those scenes."
A smile played on her lips as she stepped on his foot.
"Don't get ahead and worry about yourself don't cause trouble for the staff later on."She said.
"Okay, lights on..." The director yelled and she returned to the set. The issue with the pureblood had been given her a headache so far but she couldn't let that ruin the scene.
"Action." Gang member one walked into the scene, pulling a log of wood in with him. Ariel avoided his hit as he attacked her, feeling his move was much stronger than planned.
He made to hit her again and she avoided it,as she overheard one of the crew members telling the director that the acting looked so real that morning and he responded by saying it was good that way.
The gangster was probably doing that out of spiteness for her so he ought to be taught a lesson, she said to herself.
She closed her eyes as he jumped to hit her with the wood, which was not on the script and she could hear few members shouting.
On opening her eyes, the smoke machine suddenly began to release smoke covering the entire place. The gangster landed directly in front of her and she punched him on the forehead, sending him crashing into planks of woods.
"Cut." The director yelled.
"Stop the smoke...we can't see anything."
"Quickly open the windows."
She walked up to where he was amidst the confusion and he flinched on seeing her.
"I told you not cause trouble for the staff and just live a quiet life... Gang member No.1."
One of the crew members hurried over to cover her with a towel.
"Are you okay, miss?"She asked.
"I'm okay." She replied and was walked out of the set.
The smoke machine finally got turned off but not with her mood as she was still boiling inside of her. "Evening scenes were the worst."
The shooting of the scene was postponed to the next day and she made to head out as she picked up her bag. Her eyes fell on one of the security members and an idea struck her almost immediately.
It was time to test the pureblood's ability.
Her craving for blood increased that night as she headed to the garage just in time to spot the detective walking up to her and a smile crossed her lips as he neared her.
"Miss Martin."
"Detective, what brings you here?" She asked and he looked around with a sigh.
"I came here to investigate a trespassing case."
She lowered her fingers to her lip. "I see...but we seem to be meeting each other frequently. Do we have some kind of connection?"
The smile on her lips faded on hearing a scoff behind her and she turned to see the pureblood.
"Connection, my ass. We've learnt everything about you, Ash. It's a familiar name, isn't it?...but I think I bet this name is even more familiar..."She paused. "...Julian Scott."
This little bitch. How dare she?
She cracked her fingers and her claws elongated. "Did you say your name was Zuriña. It's time for you to die."
