Reclaiming His Luna Chapter 46

Chapter 46

Ethan

I opened the door that led to my father's room to allow Aurora walk in and a few other people following behind her. Two elders from the council along with me, Sam, Mom and Hadria watched Aurora with hopeful eyes.

I gave Aurora a go ahead with a nod and I saw her exhale before going to sit beside my unconscious father.

She brought out a syringe and administered it into his arm, everyone's eyes were on her and the king, we were so focused as if we expected the man to suddenly come into consciousness and spring out of the bed.

We have waited for this cure with desperation for so long that it was surprising.

After she administered it, she proceeded to check his vitals and anything else necessary, all this while the room was quiet, only the sound from her working was heard.

About 5 minutes passed and she exhaled before coming to stand in front of all. She had a blank face on so I couldn't tell anything from it.

“Let step outside to give the patient some space," she said and walked out while we followed behind her.

“What is the result Aurora? Did it work? Is my husband going to be fine?” My mother, the queen bombarded Aurora with questions immediately we stepped out, asking the questions that was at the tip of our tongues too.

She glanced at me before saying, “We all know a drug cannot be very effective after only a few minutes of administration. I have recorded my observations now and will have to come back in a few hours to record the difference.”

There was heavy sigh from the elders, I knew the announcement had dampened everyone's mood the more but there was nothing that could be done. We had to let the cure run its course.

Everyone began dispersing one by one, their hearts still holding on to the little flame of hope. I sighed, at least the council and everyone would be appeased for a little while.

Once the elders, Mom and Hadria left, it was just me and Aurora left, she bowed slightly and turned to leave but I stopped her from leaving by saying,

“So how were you able to find the cure so suddenly?” I was trying to start a conversation even though I knew she was trying her best to avoid me.

“Well, it was expected seeing that we have been working on it for over 3 months now, don't you think?” The sarcasm in her voice was clear and she barely met my eyes.

I rolled my eyes, somehow her attitude towards me was starting to grow on me. In fact, I would have been surprised if she had replied me normally.

“I know that, but what inspired the breakthrough?” I pressed further to get her to talk.

“Oh, it's a lot of medical gibberish, you wouldn't understand. By the way, since we are done here I'll be taking my leave, Arne is waiting for me.” She waved me off and turned to leave.

I frowned and reached out, taking her hand to stop her. She flinched and jerked her hand away when I touched her causing my jaw to tick in anger.

“How long do you think you can keep this up? Huh? It's really starting to get old," I said in low but audible voice.

“I’ll keep this up till I'm free to leave this place." She answered plainly with a cold tone.

I growled, “Why all this? What did I do to you to deserve this cold aura?” I was honestly frustrated at this point, she frustrated me.

Her nose flared up and she gave me an ‘are you serious?’ look, her eyes was twirling in brewing anger, “You are asking me?” she asked like she couldn't believe her ears.

“Yes! Who else am I supposed to ask? Ever since that night, no, even before that night, you keep keeping a cold wall against me. It got even worse after that night, I don't know what your problem is so I'm asking you to your face, Aurora, what is wrong with you?” I failed to control my voice the more I thought of her repeated shenanigans and lashed out.

“Ethan, you are my problem. You are what's wrong with me!” she lashed back with pent up anger burning in her eyes. My face contorted in confusion but I don't interrupt her, I let her continue and explain what she was going on about.

“I know you so well, Ethan. You want to eat your cake and have it, which is not possible. How can even dare to ask me what's wrong when one minute you are telling me you want to marry me and the next minute you are telling me you are getting married to another in seven days? Can't you see how indecisive you are, darn Alpha, how do you rule with such indecisiveness?” she spat out and struck a nerve.

My growl was fierce and a clear warning, “Watch what you say, Aurora. I won't have you questioning my leadership, I am your alpha”

“You are not my alpha,” she retorted without missing a beat. “you kidnapped me and my son and brought us here against our wish. You don't regard me. You think I am like a toy that you can use as you please. You played with my heart ten years ago and is still playing with my heart now. Well, surprise, I'm not going to let you do that no more. Since you refused to pick where your heart lies, I'll do it for you.” She added.

My eyes narrowed at her words and I asked, “What do you mean?”

She took a step back and answered in a curt tone, her eyes boring into mine to show her seriousness, “You get married to Tiffany, once this cure is a success, I and Arne will be on a first flight to Greece with Reginald.” Then she turned and stormed off.

And I was too stunned to stop her.
