ZACK’S POV
A heavy relaxation soothed me after finding Zoe and making sure he was okay. I was overwhelmed with hysteria of emotions that I had no idea on how I was supposed to react.
“Why on earth did you run away like that?” after calling Mike, I confronted her about the immaturity she showed by running away like that.
“Hey, I had given them their answer and then only I came here" she gave me a wicked smile of proudness she felt by doing that and I smiled at her. Gosh, she was a one piece to be like this. Silent yet a fierce cat that every girl should be afraid off!!!
“Thank god we got you” Mike came hastily and hugged her like anything and she consoled him also.
“Am I a babysitter of what that you can scare the shit out of me" Mike scolded Zoe for the same reason as mine and she scratched her head like a monkey.
“Sure, you are. At least that’s what you assigned for?” Zoe teased him and Mike stood unamused by her gibberish but I felt odd by her words.
“uhmm….Am I missing something?” I doubtfully asked her and as usual Mike was ready to blurt out and Zoe overtook him.
“The weirdo I’m for the high school, that’s what he meant" Zoe grinned awkwardly and as always, I believed her.
“So, we have understood one thing that both your ex is a toxic bitch" Mike brought up a joke that didn’t impress us at all.
“Hoo…What a big discovery Mike. Shall I give you a Nobel prize?” Zoe didn’t miss the opportunity to mock his blunder brilliance.
“If we kept the jokes apart, I must warn both of you that Caroline won’t stay quiet after today’s shock" whatever gibberish Mike blurted till now, he told something of graveness and Zoe was puzzled to hear that.
“What shock??” Zoe had no idea what I had did with Caroline so Mike took the initiative to tell that to her.
“He hacked the details of the uploader of the meme and it was her. His blood boiled and he trashed her” Mike told her and I let out a sigh.
I was always a bad boy in the matter of my anger and not always I showed that to others. But things don’t remain the same every time and during such events, bringing out a person's real self is the last option anyone could choose!!!
By this time, I was more than done with Caroline’s real psychotic behavior. Her ego was at a very different level and it had enough power to destroy anything she deemed an enemy of her happiness and Zoe was the perfect victim of her psychotic behavior again.
“Jeez, she’s doing all these because of me and I don’t think there a way to stop her" I swept my hands through my hair feeling shitty on thinking that.
“There is one. If we stay away from each other" Zoe took a deep breath before telling me that and both the me and Mike looked at her shocked. Was she crazier than Caroline??
“Are you out of your mind?” Mike screamed at Zoe for what she said and I was still blank.
“Well then what do you think? That she won’t plan another rubbish like today?? Will we be ever able to live in peace??” she snapped at us like never before and her words did have a meaning to it.
“She’s right. If Caroline feels both of you aren’t in good terms, then she’ll calm down for sure" after understanding her reason, Mike backed Zoe and I was still blank on what the siblings were planning.
“Wait a minute. Are you ditching me for that bitch?” I asked them hysterically and for my own good Zoe nodded a yes, making me sink into an ocean of disappointment.
“Great. Good bye then" I was very much distressed after my only friends in the town had ditched me for a girl who was already crazy and it was hard for me to take.
Zoe instantly asked Mike to help me control my emotions and Mike caught up with me.
“Dude, she didn’t mean that. You both can still meet in the woods and the lighthouse and I’m with you right" Mike tried to encourage me and I paid no heed to it.
“Doing a favor on me huh?” I hissed at Mike and he knew how bad I felt by Zoe’s words.
“Take your time and you’ll understand why she did that. It’s for your own good" Mike hung his arms around my shoulder and we walked back to the high-school only to regret returning back.
“Oh, the bullies are back” Sarah was waiting in the corridor for us to return and we knew something terrible was waiting for us.
“Dean has called for you. Both are doomed" Sarah mocked us and walked back to her class while we went to dean’s cabin unwantedly.
“Trying to be the bad boys huh?” dean yelled at us for the indiscipline we show cased on the classroom and we just silently stood in the room, heads hung down.
“Both are detained for counseling after classes do you understand” he ended the meet with a loud scream at us and we nodded our agreement to it.
“Guess we are tagged the bad boys of term" Mike laughed out hard after we came out of the cabin and it was not a new thing for me!!!
We got back to our classes are everyone’s eyes were fixed on us like we were bullies or aliens. They all had a touch if fear to their faces on seeing us and I hope that worked so that no one else dares to okay with me or my friends anymore in my name.
Suddenly, my phone again rang and it was Zoe, the girl who just asked me to stay away from her. I hung up the call because of my bad mood and then she dropped a message that blew my mind.
“Caroline just puked and fell unconscious on me in the lighthouse. Please help"
I was shook by her message and again stormed out of the class like a cheetah and seeing me run like that, Mike also followed me dumbfounded and we rushed to the lighthouse to the girls.
“What happened? Why did you run like that?” Mike finally stopped to get his breath and asked me as I pointed to him the girls.
“What did she do now?” I was ready to take out my anguish of Caroline but seeing her unconscious in Zoe’s laps I felt a weird worry.
“Nothing. She just came finding me and broke down crying about thing and apologized for what she did" trying to wake her up, Zoe told us and we were astounded to hear that. Caroline apologized to Zoe, no way!!!!
“Let's take her to the hospital” I took her in my arms and she was very fragile to even hold on to me.
“Hold on Caroline” I told her so that she would fall completely knocked out and we rushed to Mike’s car and he drove us to the hospital.
“What’s the emergency?” A nurse came running to us and both Mike and Zoe greeted her like they knew her and she brought a stretcher to take Caroline inside the hospital.
“She just lost her consciousness abruptly” Zoe told them what happened and the nurse rushed Caroline to the causality and asked us to wait outside.
“Should we inform her parents?” I asked them doubtfully because I was worried on how they would react.
“I think we should" Zoe thought about it and told them as she felt Caroline’s parents had the right to know what happened to their daughter.
“I don’t think they’ll come to the town leaving their works in the city" I told them hopelessly because I knew her parents very well like Mike and Zoe did. They only cared to the extreme about their work and money than family and if anything happened to Caroline and they came to know I, Mike and Zoe were with her, they would simply hand over her responsibilities to us knowing we would disagree on humanitarian basis. I guess Caroline went to being such a possessive girl because of not getting a good childhood!!!
“I’ll call them" seeing Zoe hesitate to call them, I helped her out and made the call only to get the answer I knew already.
Someway or the other, that girl always ended up on my shoulders making me regret my own existence!!!
