The rest of the week at my pack is uneventful. I rested and spent a lot of time with my friends. Trevor and I truly made peace and are friends again. Granted, we will never be the same as before, but we have both matured and are walking in out new roles. Trevor will meet me at the bear’s den. He will go back to the Royal pack today with my cousin and then travel to the den next week. Alpha Clark and Lacey will also meet me there. Rose will be traveling with me so she can be trained on the new technology we will be getting from the bears. It will also be nice for her just to get away from the pack and the pressure of not having a mate.
It is almost time for us to leave, I am in my room packing. I have a weird feeling that something is going to happen. Actually, I believe several things will happen. Not all of them are going to be good.
“T, do you know what is coming. I keep getting this weird felling and I can’t penpoint what it is?”
“I know Lettie, we are getting the same feeling. There is about to be a shift in this war. Something is going to happen soon. I don’t know what, but I do know that we need to be prepared for anything. We are going to discover a new power, but it will happen out of necessity. The moon goddess did not tell me what is coming, just that we need to be prepared. On a brighter note, there will be a couple more mate connections coming to our group over the next couple days.”
“That’s good news at least. I’m glad that we will be seeing Lacey and Alpha Clark soon. I miss our meditations and from the sound of it, we will need to stay centered and ready.”
I have at about 2 hours before I have to leave to go to the airfield. I think I will spend at least an hour in meditation before meeting up with my family and friends for breakfast. I link my parents and Rose to let them know that I will be in meditation for the next hour so that they don’t disturb me. Rose will meet me downstairs in an hour.
I can tell that I really needed that time in meditation. Tamaska feels more energized. My energies are all in harmony and I’m at peace with whatever comes our way. We are war ready. I wish I could tell my parents and friends that something is coming for me, but if I tell them, my dad would lock me away and never let me out of his sight. I know that what ever happened, needs to happen to help us ultimately win the war. I feel confident that Tamaska and I will be ok and make it out of whatever situation we find ourselves in.
“Good morning mom and dad.” I greet my parents and sit down next to Rose at the table.
“Hi Rose, are you excited to be traveling with me to the bear’s den. We are some of the first wolves to stay at their compound.” I ask.
“OMG Lettie, I am so excited. You know the alpha usually does not let more than one or two of us travel at the same time. I’m surprised he let me go since the twins and Talia are already away from the pack.”
“I think the alpha understands that we are moving the pack to a new era and the things we are doing and training you will receive is necessary. I believe it is all part of the goddess’ plan.”
‘Whatever it is, I’m glad that I get to be a part of the action.”
Just as we finish talking, my royal cousin walks in the room with a young man I have never met before.
“Hi family,” my cousin says.
“Hi cousin, I thought you were back at the palace.” I say.
I was, but I wanted to see you and Francis one last time before you leave. I have a feeling that our lives are about to become very hectic and it may be a long time before we get any quiet family time together.”
“I agree.” My dad says. “Who is this young man with you? He looks familiar and I can tell that he is a strong gamma. Is he family?”
“This is Gamma Torrence Richards from the Luna Moon pack.” My cousin says.
“Isn’t that another cousin pack to the royal pack.” I ask.
“Yes, he is a distance cousin to the twins, so in a sense, he is your cousin on your mothers said and very distant on our side.”
My mom gets up and walk over to him and gives him a hug.
“I thought you looked familiar. You’re Judy’s son right?”
“Yes ma’am, I am. I have heard so much about you all. I’m glad to finally meet you all as adults. My mom and dad told me that we used to visit when I was a young pup.” Gamma Richards said.
Just as we finished the introductions, Gamma Richards starts sniffing and looking around. Tamaska starts smirking in my head. We all look around to see who the gamma’s mate could be as Francis walks in the room. Francis pauses at the door, sniffs the air and breaks out in a big smile. Her and Gamma Richards makes eye contact and the next thing we all hear is “Mate”. Tamaska told me that her mate would be another pure-blooded gamma. I had no idea he would be a distant relative. Francis and Gamma Richards come back into the dinning room for breakfast. The mood is definitely high in the room.
“Congratulations Francis and gamma Richard I am so excited for you.” I say to them both. “Francis, I know you want to spend time with your new mate, so why don’t you ask alpha Clark to let you extend your visit? I know we had planned for you to travel with us today, but I would hate for you to have to leave so soon. Not that you would have anyway.”
“ Thank you Seleste. This all happened so suddenly, I didn’t have time to think about anything other than my mate.” Francis said.
“It’s ok. Enjoy getting to know your mate. The rest of us will be leaving in less than an hour.”
Talking with my royal cousin, we found out that gamma Richard is a gamma by blood, but is not the current gamma of his pack. He is the younger brother of the current gamma. I know that will make alpha Clark very happy. He will not have to lose Francis. Since she is the current gamma, traditionally, her mate will relocate to her and become the gamma male for the pack. I’m pretty sure they will work it out. They look so good together in the short time that they have found each other. We all been linking each other betting how long before they excused themselves to go be alone. I said less then 10 minutes. My mom said 30 minutes. Everyone is was somewhere in between mom and me. Of course I won. In less than 5 minutes, Francis suggested we go call alpha Clark.
We called alpha Clark to let him know the latest development. He was excited about Francis meeting her mate and told her to take as long as she needs. Since we don’t need to drop Francis off, we will be flying directly to bear country from here. The flight will take us about 4 hours.
After talking to Alpha Clark, we all finished eating breakfast and got ready for Rose and I to leave. Rose Alpha Connor and Luna came to see us off. Alpha Connor joked about everyone finding their mates around me. He jokingly told Rose note to run off with a mate while she is away. Rose told him she couldn’t promise him that, but this pack will always be home.
Rose and I say goodbye to our family and friends and meet the warriors and their mates. My father and Beta Vereen will take us to the airfield. Alpha Connor is sending more warriors in case we are followed again. We made it to the airfield without incident. That should have been a good thing, but I was still a little uneasy. I still know that something is coming. Since we made it to the airfield without incident, it will probably happen at the bears’ den. I don’t think it is related to the bears. Our alliance with them is solid, but from the information I received from the shifter, they seem to know my schedule so they have had time to plan something.
