Resisting Him, Chasing Her Chapter 18

CHAPTER 18

When they had taken out the whimpering and broken mess he had left in his office and slapped him with a small fine for breaking him up so badly. Samuel left for the meeting he had with the Mayor.

He was not really concentrating though. Even while going back to his penthouse. His mind was still on the conversation that he had also been an unnoticed spectator of just as the agents were to the exchange that had gone on between his two employees.

He recognized the two of them for different reasons and from two different periods. The vampire was Theo Arsen, a prominent member of the design department. He had met him just last week and instantly pegged him as a fucking bastard. He was right.

The other, he recognized from three years ago from memories he could not forget.

The sense of rage and injustice burned bright in him so much at that moment he wanted nothing more than to find Theo and break his face in. If he still had his dreads he would be slightly pulling at them.

What he did was disgusting and he had not just done it to her he had done it to many others too. It was more than enough reason to end his pathetic hundred and thirty year old existence.

He had not thought much about the woman he spent his week and a half long vacation with three years ago. Her name was not important. It was more of the experience that he remembered. It highlighted everything else so much be had to commit it to memory.

Thinking about it right now made him want to take a break. A much deserved one but not at the moment. He still had a lot of deep cleaning to do, then he would relax.

First order of buisness was to get hold of evidence that would convict Arsen of violating the NH law on blood drinking. It was clearly what he was trying to silence her about.

He needed to get people on this. He had had enough of law breaking vampires in his company. Getting rid of some was more than a welcome idea. He could not let what was going on to continue any further than it already had.

Thanks to the little fact of him owning the city, getting his hands on a few past records and schedule of pre ordained events was as easy making the right phone call.

Just her luck, Lucinda was not at home, it was already three in the afternoon and she was not sure when she was going to come back and Jennifer was on there far side of town.

She was really missing her phone right now. By now it would probably be in bits too.

After a quick trip to the bank for a new debit card, she bought a new phone.

She remembered Lucinda’s phone number by heart and dialed it. It just rang out and went straight to voicemail. She dialed her number a few more times before she tried for Jennifer but she got the same thing.

She could not go home when it was filled with cameras and no one was answering her calls. She felt so afraid and alone.

She knew better than to trust Theo but what choice did she have.

Now more than ever all the danger signs shone brightly, maybe more. The Las Vegas type billboard was now a beacon that could probably attract extra terrestrial life billions of light years away.

Maybe they could help her.

She just sat in her car contemplating between telling the police, building that beacon herself or throwing up again.

Telling the police would be a wise decision but Theo might just release all of the things on his phone to the internet and You virtually could not get rid of anything on the internet. The thought of those images being forever stuck in the web, more specifically the dark web, just waiting for someone to stumble on it, sent her anxiety up another notch.

She had never even sent nudes before, she played it safe when it came to that, when dating or flirting. It just seemed like a bad idea.

This was so new and her fear and anxiety were going through the roof.

She just needed to stay calm right? Think things clearly.

Okay, Theo having those images on its own was a crime. Illegal surveillance was a bigger one. Maybe that was how he got people to let him do what he wanted and let him get away with it.

Sicko. Pathetic but sick.

She had heard of sextortion before she even got hit by scammers but she just reported them immediately and it never really bothered her much because she knew the pictures or videos were not real.

But the ones Theo had in this case were very real. And he was desperate enough to actually do it.

The thought of a bunch of sick, obese basement dwellers and addicts getting off to those images made her stomach curdle and want to throw up again.

But she did not want to ruin her car interior and she did not think the guys at the carwash would be too happy about it either.

8:30 pm

“Where is she sleeping tonight?” Samuel asked while looking out the window, into the night at the brightly lit city below. Dressed in a loose shirt and pair of pants, his phone pressed to his ear.

“The Rinta hotel, just off Gazelli bulevard, room 104.” The man on the other end replied.

The man he was having the conversation over the phone with was just beside the said building, in his car.

“Alright then, if she makes a move tomorrow especially tomorrow night inform me immediately. I’ll give you the okay to go ahead with the plan. You all know what to do.” Samuel said.

“Yes, Sir. Of course, Sir.” The man answered before Samuel brought the phone away from his ear and disconnected the call.

It was not usual for him to play knight in shining armor for anyone but his youngest sister. He did not do it for his mother, his siblings or other family members, they had his father for that. He certainly never did it for one of his lays. Past or present.

He was not the type to play the part, it only served for women to think there was or could be more to the relationship than just sex.

He served his intentions straight. He wanted a no strings attached relationship and he made sure they got the memo although some still tried which pissed him off.

Aside from the situation Rita was going through, he really did not care. He just could not standby and let a perverted vampire run rampant in his company. It was already getting bad press as it is.

He would not have done the same in any other woman’s case but still. For those that had managed to satisfy him, he had atleast given them something in return. A jewellery set, an all out pass to the positions and things they wanted, money.

In her case, he had not given her a thing and she had done very well in keeping him sated for those short days.

So this was going to be her reward.
