Hava had been locked in for three days in her room with no one to visit her, all she had was a few omegas who brought her food from time to time and she was surprised that she was given such a chance when Lily didn’t actually get one making herself in charge of feeding her.
She woke up from sleep the next morning to find Alpha Reid in her room with his eyes keenly pinned on her, she got so scared that she curled up to one corner of the bed.
“If I wanted to hurt you then I would have done that already” he said signifying that he had been watching her sleep for a while.
“What do you want?” She asked still terrified of him.
“Just here to make a deal with you, something I figured out last night. Your consent to my deal will determine if you would be alive or not, I am very much sure that you want to be alive right?” He asked and she nodded her head. Hava had thought about it countless times but all that came to her mind was the fact that she would suffer the same fate as Lily, now that Alpha Reid was there to offer a deal to her which could save her life she was willing to listen to him.
“All my life I have always wanted an heir, a child to call my own, someone to carry in my legacy. I thought I could get that a long time ago but up until now I haven’t. I have tried so many ways but just last night I came to accept the cruel fate that I can never have an heir of my own” he said as Hava tried to grasp exactly what he was talking about.
Alpha Reid had a little time to reflect on his life last night and about the curse placed on him by his mate, he finally believed that the curse was working and that was why the mistresses he had were not able to give birth to a child for him but were completely fertile when other men touched them. A living example of that was Hava and Lily.
“I have accepted my fate but I believe that it can also be changed. Since I am the Alpha of this pack and you basically belong to me because you are my mistress, I will give you this one chance.
Accept that the child is mine and I will spare your life and that of the child” he said firmly.
Hava was completely shocked by what he said, was he expecting her to claim he was the father of her baby when they both knew that he wasn’t and the baby was clearly Ashton’s.
“You want me to say that the child is yours and not my mate’s?” She asked.
“Yes, think about the things I can do for the child. If you accept my deal then your son could be the Alpha of the pack. I know he may not be my biological child but I will cherish him as my own” he replied and his words sounded so absurd to her.
“What if I reject this offer?” She asked and he crossed his lips in anger, the aura coming off him was icily cold as he stared at her.
“Then be ready to face your death” he muttered.
Hava was so scared of his verdict and the fact that she was going to die.
“So I have no choice than to accept it?” She asked.
“Think about the things you might enjoy if you do, you would get long life and remain in the pack as the child’s mother but not as the Luna, Rebecca deserves that title after all she did for me” he stated.
“Ofcourse she does” Hava thought to herself, all that was happening to her was because Rebecca was aiming to keep the Luna title to herself which she didn’t want in the first place. She must have worked her way into Alpha Reid’s heart to make him now value her and who knows if this might actually be her idea.
“How about my mate Ashton?”
She asked him, accepting his deal meant that she had to deny the legal rights of Ashton being her Baby’s father.
“He would be dead either ways, his execution is in a few days” Alpha Reid blurted out to her and she was shocked. Her mate was going to die in a few days and she was only hearing of it now.
“He committed a grievous crime against me, there is no way I am going to let him live and besides the child cannot have two fathers” He added making it obvious to her that Ashton must die.
“I reject your offer” she boldly stated and he scoffed.
“Why, is it because your mate would be dead in a few days?” He asked.
“What is the point of living when the reason why I live is dead, I would rather die along with him than live another life of pain in this pack” she answered and Alpha Reid was boiling mad. He had just given her an offer that any person would quickly grab considering the crime that she had committed, he wasn’t known for giving second chances to his offenders but here he was giving Hava a second chance and she was rejecting him.
“Since you have made your decision then I would like to let you know that the child would be mine either way, I would keep you alive until you give birth and then you would watch me take your child away from you before you meet your death.
Rebecca would make a fine mother to the child” he informed and stormed out of her the room before Hava could react and snap out of her shock.
Alpha Reid didn’t return to his chambers but rather he went ahead to visit Ashton in the dungeon. He had been locked up and tortured each passing day, he looked weak and tired after he had just received his daily dose of torture for the morning.
“You look like you are not going to hold up for long” he said.
Ashton glared at him with no words to say to him, all he could do was think of means way to hurt him only in his head.
“I won’t waste your time, I am just here to tell you that your execution would be in three days time and that you would be burnt to death in front of the whole pack” he said to him. He had chosen the worst death possible because he wanted Ashton to suffer and know how hurt he felt to find out that his Gamma betrayed him. His death was to sound as a reminder that he was not forgiving to anyone who offended him even those that were closer to him such as his Gamma or Beta.
Ashton was still silent as he listened to him talk, Alpha Reid took his silence for acceptance of his fate and turned to leave when he remembered what he discussed with Hava.
“By the way your mate Hava has accepted to have me as the father of the child which means that while you are burning to death your child would be recognized as mine” he blurted out to him causing him to react.
“Hava would never do that to me” Ashton said. If it was true then Hava was clearly denying him and the love they shared together, he could never believe she would do such a thing after all that he had done for her.
“Oh she did” Alpha Reid answered and left him to the agonizing pain of figuring out if that was the truth or not.
Once he stepped out of the dungeon he heard a loud and domineering roar coming out of there, directly from Ashton. It shook the whole pack house making Alpha Reid wonder how much power he had in him to make such roar like an Alpha.
