Ashton had to bear with thinking if Hava had truly denied him like Alpha Reid said, he felt so broken deep within that he wanted to rip the bars apart.
“She would never deny me” he said thinking about all he had sacrificed just for Hava. He didn’t want to believe that she would do such a thing to him such as giving his paternal right to his own child to another man. Ashton had dedicated his whole life to her right from the moment he found out that she was his mate. He followed her to another pack and became the Gamma just so that he could protect her.
When he saw Alpha Reid almost strangling her to death, he could have chosen to not help so that his cover wouldn’t be blown and that way Alpha Reid wouldn’t suspect him but it was all because of her that he reacted causing him to end up in the dungeon. Ashton believed he had done much more than she had ever asked him, he gave her the happiness that she once believed she would never have when she got caught up with Alpha Reid. She was all he had so he would never think that she would actually betray him in such manner.
“He is lying right” he asked his wolf but he also was dead silent with no word to say to him, he was also unsure if Hava had really denied them or not.
“Even if he were lying what difference does it mean, we will be killed in a few days time and Hava and the baby would solely belong to him. We will be gone forever and never be able to see our mate again” his wolf reminded him that their death sentence was near.
Ashton couldn’t live with that, he couldn’t live with the thought of being separated from his mate and knowing that she would be tormented while he was gone.
“We have to get out of here” he said holding unto the bars, even though the silver burned his hands, he had a much bigger zeal than the pain he was feeling. It was to get Hava out of the pack, he had promised her that he would most certainly do that even if that was the last thing he did. He just wanted to know that her and his baby would be safe.
He pulled the bars so hard until there was a big space for him to squeeze his way through, just up the stairs was a guard supposed to keep watch over him.
He appeared in front of the guard acting all weak and then dropped to the ground pretending to be dead.
The guard became alerted and ran towards him, Ashton snapped his neck immediately and left.
He made sure no one saw him as he made his way to Hava’s room.
Hava could hear the sound of a bone being snapped and she confused by what was going on, she watched the door open and a body was being pulled in.
“Ashton” she said surprised to see him, she didn’t know when tears rolled out of her eyes because he was in a terrible state yet she was still so happy to see him.
“Are you okay?” He said unlocking the chains on her hands with the keys he had gotten from the guard by her door.
“I am just so glad that you are alive” she said hugging tightly as she patted her head.
“They told me your execution was in two days time and I was so scared of what might happen to you. How were you able to escape?” She asked knowing the bars in the dungeon were silver and would hurt them if they were to ever touch it.
“I broke the bars and made my way to you, I missed you so much Hava” he kissed her lips with a sense of longing.
“I missed you too” she replied so thrilled in her heart to see him that it showed all over her face.
“We have to leave immediately” he said grabbing her hand.
“Like right now, what if anyone see us. You would surely get in trouble and the Alpha might hasten your execution” she said in fear of being caught. She could tell that Ashton had no one supporting him and it ain’t going to be easy escaping from the pack house when it was swarming with the members. Any mistake they made might alert the Alpha and if he caught up with them then they would most likely be dead due to his anger of them trying to escape him.
“We cannot stay here either Hava, it is better we leave here now and we might get a chance of escaping but if we stay then we will be in trouble. I had promised I would get you out of here, this is me fulfilling that promise. Trust me Hava” he said and she could see the determination in his eyes to get them out of the pack safety, she grabbed his hands tightly as he peeked through the door, when he saw that no one was there, he ushered her out of the room and towards the kitchen.
“Why are we in the Kitchen?” Hava asked confused, she had thought he was going to use the main door to escape since that was the only way out.
“There is a secret door here that will get us out in no time” he said knocking on the walls until he figured that one of the walls was a fake.
“I had heard the Beta talking about the secret door once” he said looking for a way to open the door. He found a button close to the cupboard and he immediately pressed it.
Just at that moment the door to the kitchen opened scaring Hava beyond wits about who it might be, Ashton took his stand ready to attack in a second when he saw Rebecca.
“How the hell is this possible?, How did you two escape?” She asked shocked seeing them together.
They were silent as they waited for the door to open which was quiet slow anyways.
“How did you know about this secret entrance?” She asked again.
Only a few members of the pack knew about the secret wall that led anyone outside the packhouse house and into the woods.
“Are you seriously trying to escape the Alpha, you know very well that he will not rest until he found you two no matter where you go and besides he knows your pack which is the first place he would go” She said since they were not making an effort to reply her.
“I know that’s why we are not going to her pack, we have brains Rebecca” Ashton answered her instead pissed off that she was bugging him.
“Where would you go?” She asked again.
“Do you think we are going to answer that after you betrayed us” Hava answered furious, why was she trying to find out where they were going so that she could rat on them like she did before.
“Never mind, I don’t need to know either. It is better if you two are far away and make sure to never return or get found because the Alpha will kill you two without thinking twice about it” Rebecca warned them but they already knew that as they both glared at her.
“Hava” Ashton gestured for her to leave first while he walked towards Rebecca to knock her out,
“You don’t need to do that, I want you two out of this pack more than you could ever imagine. Leave and never look back” she said and he let her be. He passed through the door and Rebecca quickly shut it before anyone could enter into the a kitchen.
A deep and loud roar resonated through the pack house, it was the roar of the Alpha, she knew that he had already figured out they were gone. She just hoped they could leave safely otherwise they would be dead if Alpha Reid caught them.
