I said nothing for a while, then shook my head. “No, he didn’t release his seeds at all.”
“How come?”
I scratched my head. “Wait, I’m confused. Should man release their seeds when they have sex?”
“Normally. Well, a man can delay it to give the partner more pleasure, or if they have any disease, either physically and/or mentally.”
“Oh, but Ethan can do that. I mean, ejaculating his seeds the last time. So, he seems perfectly healthy to me.” My face was hot. “Sorry, I may sound so stupid. Yet, it’s my first time, and I don’t know anything.”
Stacy shook her head. “It’s okay. I have a better idea.” Later, she called our co-worker, “We need to check something in the audio room. Can you wait here for ten to fifteen minutes?”
“Sure, no problem, Stacy,” the co-worker said.
“Let’s go!” Stacy grabbed my hand.
We walked to the audio room. After typing ‘sex education’ to find the DVD she wanted, Stacy snapped a picture from the screen. Then she walked to the staff there.
“I want to check a few DVDs, please?”
“Oh, sure.” When the audio room staff read what Stacy wanted, she smiled, “For your sister?”
“Yeah, I’m worried that she isn’t aware of what she needs to know.”
“I see. You are a great sister. Let me get these DVDs for you.”
The staff only needed a minute to get some DVDs on Stacy’s screen. “So, do you want to check these first or borrow them all?”
“I think I should check them first. To see which one is the most suitable one for my sister.”
“Sure, here you go.”
The staff gave five DVDs to Stacy. Then Stacy showed the co-worker her card.
After scanning Stacy’s card, the staff nodded. “Here you go.”
“Thanks.”
Carrying five DVDs to the nearest room to watch, Stacy stared at me, who said nothing. “Hey, it’s okay.”
“I feel so dumb. I mean, I’m an adult, yet I know nothing about it.”
“Don’t worry. With these DVDs, you will get to know anything you need to know.”
Stacy closed the door and let me insert the DVD into the DVD player. Then we watched an educational documentary movie about human anatomy. After a half-hour, it also explained some sexual positions, contraception, and diseases related to the free sexual act. When the DVD ended, I shook my head.
“What?”
“I don’t get it.”
“Oh, which one? I can explain anything if you want.”
“No, the DVD is informative, and I know many things now. Thanks, Stacy.”
“Great then. But why did you shake your head?”
“Because Ethan has never done it.”
Stacy wrinkled her forehead. “What do you mean?”
“He has never penetrated me with his manhood. He only did it with his fingers and tongue.” I looked elsewhere. “I was worried before because I thought the condom should be used on the finger or tongue. Considering both touched my womanhood. But then, when you asked me if Ethan released his seeds inside me, it had never happened. So now, I know that I can’t be pregnant.”
“It’s good then. Ethan may respect your wish and protect you from unwanted pregnancy.”
I let out a long sigh. “It’s true. Yet ….”
“Yet?”
“Ethan told me that we had actually been married in his community. So, we are man and wife in his world.”
“Oh, how?”
“He did something that bound me to him and vice versa. I even feel the soul connection afterward.” I shook my head again. “Though I haven’t told my mother, she approved of Ethan.”
“So, it’s no problem then.”
“Yes, but still, I wonder. Why didn’t Ethan do it? I mean, it’s his right as my husband. I’m willing too. But, I mean, well, I want to get married first. But—” I stared at Stacy “—it’s hard to explain, and it may sound crazy to you, I feel like it has been a legal marriage between Ethan and me.”
“I don’t know the details, but I have done it without getting married. So, if you and Ethan had been through the ceremony in his way, you should ask him why he didn’t claim you yet as his wife.” Stacy shrugged. “I think consummation is one of the terms to complete a marriage.”
I bent my head and wept.
“Helena? What’s wrong?”
“Maybe Ethan isn’t sure yet with me. Maybe it’s his reason why he hasn’t consummated our marriage.”
“Hey, don’t assume anything.” Then Stacy said, “Maybe Ethan is tired.”
I shook my head. “No, he did it repeatedly for the first time. I don’t think he was tired at all.”
“Then you should ask him. It’s not good to assume the worst. He may have a reason that you don’t know yet.”
“You’re right.”
“For sure, I’m right.” Stacy then asked, “Do you want to watch another DVD?”
“No, I think I have found what I need to know. So, let’s get back to work.”
When I went home, my mother had prepared some books and videos. She gave those to me. “Read these books and watch the videos. I think it will give you a lot of information.”
“Thanks, mom. Stacy helped me with showing a sex education DVD too. I’m only confused about one thing.”
“Oh, what is it?”
“It may be good for you since I won’t get pregnant, at least for now.”
“How do you know?”
I took a deep breath. When I let it out, I didn’t stare at my mother. Instead, I looked at the floor. “Because Ethan took precaution each time to ensure I wouldn’t get pregnant.”
“I see! It’s good then. He truly cares for you.”
I hesitated to say what had happened. “Mom, I will take a shower and have dinner first. Then I have something I want to talk about with you.”
“Sure, sweetheart.”
