I stared at Stacy. “Like what?”
“Well, kiss or touch you?”
I looked away. “Yes, Constantine kissed me once, and I retreated since I didn’t feel it’s the right thing to do.”
“If you must choose between Ethan and Constantine, which one will you pick?”
“Ethan, for sure. Should you ask?” I giggled and rolled my eyes. “With him, I feel safe and comfortable. They are handsome and sexy, but Ethan is more protective.” I smiled and let out a sigh. “Besides, I love him.”
“Ah, it’s hard to beat. But if Constantine keeps pursuing you, will you give him a chance?”
“No, unless something happens between Ethan and me.”
“But he is a generous gifter. May I see the box?”
I handed over the box. Stacy opened the lid and whistled as she touched the fabric. “Silk! Whoa! He is wealthy and generous.”
“I have already had Ethan. I’ll return the gift to him.”
“But how about if you try it just once? I want to see how it looks in your body.”
I shrugged. “Okay, I’ll show it to you during our resting time.”
We worked as usual until it was lunchtime. Then we went to the ladies’ room, and I changed my cloth into the red silk dress. When I showed up, Stacy shook her head. The dress had a low neckline, and it showed my cleavage. Then the fabric followed and shaped my body. I knew I looked so sexy in the dress.
“Wow! It’s gorgeous! It’s too bad if you return it to him.”
“Well, if I accept the gift, it’ll be like I encourage him to approach me further.”
“So, will you turn down his dinner invitation too?”
“Uh-huh.”
“It’s too bad.” But then Stacy grinned. “Yet, as I have seen Ethan’s pic, I think he deserves your loyalty.”
“Sure. Ethan is so good to me. How about Red?”
“What about him?” But a slight blush crept on Stacy’s cheek.
“Will you be his girlfriend?”
“Well, it’s the wrong question. I am Red’s girlfriend already.”
“Oh, congratulations! Why didn’t you tell me?” I kissed Stacy’s cheeks. “Is that why you and him, uh, you know?”
Stacy giggled. “Uh, well, I don’t know why, but all went so smoothly with Red. I just needed to look into his eyes, and I could see that he wanted me.” She tucked her side hair to the back of her ear. “Since I felt the same, well, so we did it. Then the next day, he fetched me home and told me that he would call me. So, he did, and he said that yesterday was our starting day as a couple.”
“Aw, he’s cute!”
“I haven’t known Red well. Yet, I felt like I had known him for a while. Strange, isn’t it?”
I shook my head. “Not at all. I felt the same about Ethan the first time I saw him. So, maybe it’s a soulmate, or in their term, mate.”
“I don’t know for sure about that. We’ll see.”

Meanwhile, I visited Freya when Helena was working. Freya frowned since she didn’t expect me to come. But finally, she opened the door and stood there. “Yes?”
“Mrs. Ross, remember me? I am Constantine Night, Lord Constantine Night precisely. I was the one who saved your daughter.”
Freya nodded. “Yes, I remember you. A royalty?”
“Yes, madam. May I come in?”
“Oh, but Helena is working.”
“I know. That is why I visited you.” I gave Freya my best smile.
Freya hesitated for a while, but she stepped back and let me come inside. “Please have a seat.”
“Thank you, madam.”
“So, what is your purpose for meeting me?”
“Ah, what a straightforward person! Nice! It will save us time.” Then I smiled for a few seconds. “Helena.”
“Excuse me?”
“My reason to meet you is Helena. I want her to work for me.”
Freya tilted her head to the side. “I don’t get it. Helena has already had a job as a librarian. So, I don’t think that she needs another job.”
“When I asked her to have dinner with me, it was to discuss the job. So, I offered her a job as my bookkeeper.” Then I paused to give a more dramatic result. “I offered to double her salary now.”
“Oh, wow! It is a generous offer.”
“Indeed. But I sensed that Helena didn’t want to take the offer.”
“Has she told that to you?”
I shook my head. “From her reaction, I could guess.” Then I glanced at Freya. “Since it requires her to stay in the castle, I think her concern is about you.”
Freya took a deep breath. “So?”
“What do you think about this?”
“Well, if Helena wants the job, I’ll certainly support her.”
“Excellent!”
“But if she doesn’t want it, I’ll support her decision too.”
“Yes, I agree. You are wonderful, Mrs. Ross.”
Freya only smiled a little. “Thank you. All mothers only want the best for their children.”
“Indeed, I can’t agree more.”
“I want to ask something.”
“Please proceed.”
“The night when you invited Helena to have dinner with her, why didn’t you send her home?”
“Well, it is easy to answer. Helena told me that her boyfriend would come to fetch her.”
“Oh?”
I raised my eyebrows. “If you don’t trust me, you can ask Helena.”
“I trust you. It’s just that ….” Freya couldn’t finish her words.
“Yes?”
She shook her head. “Nothing. Thank you for the offer. I’ll speak with Helena once she goes home.”
I nodded. “Great! Then I will leave. Thank you for having me, Mrs. Ross. I believe we will meet more frequently in the future.”
Freya blinked her eyes. “Oh?”
“Since your daughter attracts me. You can say that it was love at first sight. The moment I saw Helena, I knew that I wanted her.”
“Want and love are two quite different things, Lord Constantine.”
He grinned. “Maybe, but Helena is a special woman, and I have never been attracted to someone as strong as I am to Helena. So, what do you think?”
