THE ALPHA'S LUNA Chapter 12

"...so, who is she? I heard you got a new plaything." A deep, husky voice that I hadn't heard of rang from the hallway. It was a male, probably around my age. His voice was low-pitched, like he was talking in small letters, but it still had that authoritative ring.

I heard a tired voice sigh. CITRUS. It was Richard. I hurried to the door to unbolt it from its lock.

"What will become of Sophia now? I actually kind of like her-she was the only reasonable one among your exes."

I yank the door from the hinges, my anger taking hold of me for the moment. It was just at the surface, and it was looking for any opportunity to burst out. If I hear anything about that damn Sophia again, I will scream bloody murder.

I glared at the man whore in flesh, not caring about the reaction of the other person. Richard has a lot of grovelling to do. At least he had the decency to turn his face to the other side when he saw that my face was anything but pleasant. But how bad is his dating history that people have been talking about it? Honestly, I don't even want to know.

I finally turned to face the intruder, who had been talking shit about me. I definitely wasn't prepared for what I was seeing. He was a mix between Richard and Jessica. While he had Richard's hair and build, he was almost as tall as him, just a foot shorter.

His facial structure was all Jessica; the identical delicate baby face and pale skin made it obvious that they were twins. He smiled at me to reveal his gap tooth when he noticed I was staring at him. I must say, he had a charming smile, his dimple on full display. But I was too angry to care.

I ignored both of them and went back to bed, looking everywhere but at them. "Richard!" Jessica came down from the bed and ran to her brother. He closed his eyes as he braced himself for her impact. A loud thud echoed throughout the room as her body crashed violently onto him, hugging him so tight she could cut off his ventilation.

"I have missed you so much. You just left me in the hands of this man-child." She whined in a baby voice, glaring at the yet-to-be named man. I rolled my eyes at her antics. The person in question didn't even react; he just kept staring at me head on, trying to check out his brother's new "plaything".

"...and why didn't you tell me that you had found your mate? Mom will be so cross with you if they find out before you tell them."

"Hmm, take it easy, short drops. You are bruising me."

"You deserve it. I caused a horrible scene today, even calling her a whore." The air around us became tense as I recalled what happened earlier, angry pheromones emitting from my body. Richard turned towards the source of the anger, his brown eyes drawn in apology.

"W-wait a minute... What the fuck? What did you just say? Richard found his mate?" His jaw dropped in surprise. His hands were on his mouth, trying to mask his shock. "What the hell, bro, why weren't we informed?"

He swept his eyes around the room until his gaze finally rested on me. He padded towards me, his steps echoing through the quiet room. "And to whom do I owe this pleasure, beautiful?" He smiled as he took my hands, his dimple showing. He started bringing it almost to his mouth; his lips were already puckered for a kiss.

And almost immediately, a warning growl rang throughout the room, to alert the other male of his claim: "Don't even think of it, Jesse, your charms won't work on her. She is taken."

He dropped my hands like a hot iron, raising his hands in defense as he turned to face his elder brother. Richard's eyes were so dark brown that they could pass for black, his wolf just at the surface. "Don't touch what is mine!" His wolf, Hermes, spoke out, in a voice so full of authority that his siblings bowed their heads.

"I am sorry Alpha, I had no idea she was yours."

"The next time you do that, I won't hesitate to break your hand. What do you mean by you had no idea? Can't you smell that she is drenched in my scent, or has your nose stopped working?" Richard's anger could be felt from his voice as he gained control.

Jessica and I tried to stiffle a laugh as we recalled that I said something similar not too long ago. He cast his sharp eyes in the direction of the laugh, and that silenced her. OK, time to diffuse the situation.

"Who lit a fire under your ass, Wolfy?" This time they couldn't hold it anymore. They both burst into laughter. "Calm down, they meant no harm."

Jesse raised his hands in the air in his defense, "Yea, what she said." He pointed at me. "I meant no harm." Then, facing me, he said, "I think we got off on the wrong foot and I am sorry." He bowed his head in reverence.

"My name is Jesse, your mate's brother, the best human being in the world, and, of course, the better looking twin, although Jessi wouldn't accept it because it would bruise her ego." He replied, finishing the last sentence in a whisper.

"I can hear you, Jesse. We can all hear you." Jessi replied, her voice unimpressed.

I smiled at her response. I think I am beginning to love this family. "I am Isabella, but you can call me Bella. I am pleased to meet you." Deciding to play his game, I added, "I also think you are the better looking twin." I whispered in his ears, earning a laugh from him. From up close, he looked more like Richard.

"Alright, I don't think any introduction is needed since you all have made yourselves comfortable in my absence." Richard looked in Jessi's direction.

"Gosh, I am starving." I complained as I dumped myself on the bed.

"Someone should be coming with a tray of food any moment from now. Although I didn't think there would be extra mouths to feed." He complained, eyeing the other illegal occupant.

As if on cue, the smokey scent of chicken began to waft in, along with the scent of potatoes. A knock sounded on the door and an omega came in, rolling a buffet tray. She whimpered as she observed the room. An omega in the presence of four alpha blood. The power was too much for her. So she took a bow and hurried out.

The scent of roast chicken and potatoes made my mouth water, and I wasted no time. I moved the tray towards the seat and invited the Wilson siblings to join me. Everyone declined, except Jessi. And in no time, we finished the dinner of roast chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I patted my full stomach as I relaxed back, now noticing that a certain pair of eyes had been watching me intently. devoring me with his eyes.

"Ewww! Richard! I can hear your thoughts. You are so disgusting. How can you think of doing such things to her?" Jesse called out in a teasing voice.

Richard turned into a tomato, looking so red. He covered his ears with his hands as he retorted, "I don't know what you are talking about."

"Are you saying I am lying?" That you weren't planning on bending her on your bed and having your wicked ways with her."

Now it was my turn to blush. How could he be so brazen about this? I looked at the accused and he was in no better shape. It was almost cute, the great Alpha blushing because of a mere word.

Trying to regain his composure, he stammered out, "I w-was t-thinking about t-that. You can't even hear my thoughts, so stop spewing rubbish."

The twin burst into laughter at his expense, cackling like a hyena. He was definitely thinking about it. But why wasn't it making me drip? It was one thing I didn't understand. "What are you guys even doing here? Don't y'all have something else to do?"

"Of course we have something to do. I came to see my lovely, handsome brother, the best brother in the whole world." Jessi teased.

"Excuse me? What am I?"

"You are my twin; you don't matter."

"Ouch," he said, clutching his chest as if in pain. "I am hurt, sis, very hurt."

Richard looked at them, looking very unamused, like he was used to the sight. "I know you are just here for the money."

"Of course not!" Jessi shrieked in a high-pitched voice. It was obvious she was lying. "I just came to check up on my lovely brother. But if he decides to give me money, as the baby of the house, who am I to refuse?" She gave him the best puppy eyes she could come up with.

That eyes was his weakness, as I could see his defense crumbling. "Alright, I will see what I can do. Now if you both will excuse us, we have some catching up to do."

"Alright, we will leave the two lovebirds to catch up. Let us go, Jesse." She started dragging her brother towards the door. But before they could get to the door, we heard a voice call out.

"What am I hearing about a new girl, Richard? Isn't Sophia enough for you?"
