THE ALPHA'S LUNA Chapter 24

"Where are we going to?" I asked as Richard kept leading me outside.

"You will know when we get there." He is my mate; I should trust him.

We soon left civilization and started to enter into the woods. He kept maneuvering through the rocky path until we got to this huge ass tree.

"You can change here." Richard gestured to the tree.

"Change here?" I asked, confused.

"Yea, into your wolf. It has been a while since you let her out right? So, I think this will be a great opportunity." He replied and started leaving.

"Wait, where are you going to?"

"I am going to go get changed. Or do you want to watch me undress?" He asked in a teasing manner; his hands were already on the hem of his shirt, threatening to remove it.

I didn't answer immediately, so he pulled it up, showing off his well-toned abs. I gulped with my eyes wide open as I followed his movements. My eyes taking him in greedily.

He chuckled as he saw my expression. "I am tempted to ravish you here in the woods, with the way you are looking at me. But I don't think you will want your first time to be in the woods."

"N-no, I wasn't s..staring at you." My stuttering was a clear indication that I was lying.

He just looked at me in amusement and shook his head. "I will come fetch you." And with that, he left, the thick forest swallowing him.

I stood behind the said tree and started undressing. I folded the clothes and hid them at the foot of the tree and got ready.

I fell to my knees, my hands hitting the stony ground as my body shuddered. The change had begun. My hand was twisting in an unnaturally way, before my legs follow.

The transition from man to wolf was smooth and fluid like water. My bones break and rearrange as it morphs into a wolf.

The first few shifts were always painful, but I have been doing this for so long, since I was thirteen, that it isn't painful anymore. Your body just gets used to it.

Kiayra's POV

I shook my brown fur free as I came out, stretching my limbs. I crunch the fallen leaves with my paws, loving the sound they make. It has been a while since I have been out, so I am happy to be out.

I could perceive the strong smell of citrus coming from the direction Richard went. In wolf form, our senses of smell and sight become heightened. So, the smell of citrus was so strong and equally intoxicating.

I sniffed the air greedily, trying to take all of my mate. I was feeling nervous as I waited for Richard's wolf. He wasn't that welcoming to Bella at first, and I was afraid it would be the same for me.

I didn't have time to process that thought when a grey wolf with black patches bounded happily towards me, his pink tongue out in the air, his amber eyes glowing like a torch in the dark. From his reaction alone, I could tell that he was happy to see me. That was a relief.

The male got closer to me and pressed against me, his scent filling my nose as he rubbed his body on me, making sure that by the end of the day, I would be bathed in his scent.

His tongue darted out to lick me, and I invaded it, moving away from him. I shook my fur as if to reduce his scent on me. I looked at the wolf with slit eyes, disapproving of his administrations. That was one thing I wasn't going to allow. His tongue was all over me.

A low grumble could be heard from him, not liking the fact that I escaped from him. But I didn't care. He stretched his limbs and before I knew what was happening, he took off, his grey coat became a blur as he ran with full speed.

He had naturally assumed that I would follow him, so he didn't bother to turn back and check. I stood there for a while, contemplating if I should follow, until I heard a bark. He was urging me to follow him. Well, he leaves me no choice. I went the way he went, trying to catch up with him.

My paws pounded heavily across the grassy floor, sending me jetting past the trees that blurred at my speed. I felt a surge of adrenaline as I forced my limbs to push harder, the steady pound of my footsteps echoed in my ears.

I could see the grey wolf dashing through the woods, and I urged my limbs to go faster, determining to catch up with him. He noticed I was coming closer and he forged forward and it soon became a competition.

I felt lighter as I pounded my paws on the moist earth, loving the feel of the wind in my fur. Animals scampered when they saw us coming, recognizing that these were no ordinary wolves.

The wolf came to a stop abruptly before I could apply brakes, and my body collided with him. My eyes took in where we stopped. It was a large clearing hidden by canopies of trees. But what caught my attention was the sound of water hitting the rock.

To my left was a waterfall, descending to a pool. The sight was so beautiful that my tongue hung outside. The silver moon's glow hit the water, making it glitter silver. I had no idea they had something like that here. I found my paws moving towards the water as if enchanted, till I got to the mouth of the water. I sniff the air, loving the saturated scent.

The grey wolf came to stand beside me. The crunch of bones breaking could be heard, but I didn't register it. I was still entranced by the sight before me until I heard Richard's voice call out in a low tone. "Shift."

I whipped my neck in his direction and... I got more than what I bargained for. His junk was dangling in the face, staring at me hard (pun intended). If I opened my mouth, I could even get a taste. I sighed dreamily; he was truly blessed in that area.

I came to my senses, and I looked away so fast, I almost broke my neck. Why the fuck would he do that? Has he heard of privacy? I barked to let him know that I disapproved of his behavior. But the sweet melodies of his laugh filled my ears.

It is good to know that one of us found it funny. Because it wasn't funny to be. A word of warning will be better next time. He almost gave me a heart attack.

Lack of communication is truly a bitch. Since we were from different packs, and still unmated, we don't share ties, so we couldn't communicate in wolf form.

I heard his footsteps retreat, but I dared not peck a look. I couldn't risk it. He came back after a while. "You can look now."

I shook my body to let him know that I wouldn't be doing that.

"It is safe now. I got some clothes on." He continued, trying to persuade me. I decided to humor him and turned, but I made sure my eyes were on the ground.

I began to look up slowly. It was a precautionary measure so I wouldn't be caught off guard. It turns out that he wasn't lying.

He was clad in a pair of loose grey shorts, ONLY. The eyes followed his happy trail down to where it got lost in his clothes. I could see the outline of his junk in the loose clothing.

"Shift!" He commanded, his voice echoing in the dark woods.

I shook my head refusing. here is no way I would shift buck naked in front of Richard.

"It is OK, I brought a change of clothes for you." He threw some clothes on the ground close to me, and I picked them up with my mouth and entered into the woods, emerging some minutes later in human form, clothed. Although I wouldn't exactly call it one. It was a large polo, so long that it could pass for a gown. It was literally reaching me on my knees!

I let out a sigh as the sole of my feet met the ground. The earth felt soft under me. I strolled towards where he was and stood beside him.

He took my hands and made us sit at the mouth of the water. He dipped his legs, and I followed suit. I dipped a toe into the warm water, watching as ripples formed in the water.

Sucking in a gasp, I sank both legs into the water, kicking it about and splashing it all over. Richard watched me in amusement as I continued playing with the water.

I got tired and stopped. I laid on the floor, staring at the moonlight. The moon was now high in the sky. Her soft rays gleam on Richard and make him more handsome.

He laid down on the floor and pulled me closer to him, sparks igniting wherever our bodies touched. I rested my head on his chest and relaxed, feeling safe in the arms of my mate.

There was no need for words among us. Only his presence was enough for me. The repeated sound of his heartbeat, soon lured me, I was almost drifting into sleep when a soft voice whispered in my ears.

"I am sorry for the way I treated you, Bella. I know I haven't been the perfect mate to you. I'm sorry for not being in tune with your feelings." I stilled at his words, my heart skipping a bit. There were many things I expected tonight, but not an apology.

"I promise to be a better mate from this day onwards." He pulled me closer and gave me a peck on my forehead. "I think I am beginning to fall for you." He whispered the last part, that if it weren’t for our sensitive ears, I wouldn't get it. He gave me another peck, and his breathing slowed as he fell asleep.

That night, something new emerged in me. I don't know what exactly, but I could feel the tension we once had dissolving and new feelings developing.
