Isaac Gray Holster Elizade’s POV
“You have a car?” I raised my brow as soon as we stopped in the parking lot of the hotel.
I was supposed to call the chopper to bring us back to the city when she told me that she brought a car. I didn’t even know that she could drive since she never used a car. I guess, I still have a lot of things to learn about her.
“I bought this yesterday.” She plainly said as she went inside. “I’ll show you my driving skills.” She winked as she fastened her seatbelt. She tied her hair up before starting the engine. Damn! She’s so freaking hot.
“Can I get a kiss?” I leaned closer to her and reached for her lips.
“Woah. Miss me?”
“I always do.” I told him and blushed a little.
“I didn’t know you knew how to drive,” I told her. “Is this your first time driving?”
She smiled at me. “You have a lifetime to learn everything about me.”
“Likewise, but of course, how about we play a hundred questions game?” I suggested. I remembered playing that game when I was in high school. And, I think she’s also familiar with the game as she nodded.
It’s actually the plan I have thought of since it would be suspicious if I asked him directly about Mattel although I am dying to know who he is in her life. I might as well start doing this since it’s a start to get to know her as she gets to know me too.
We really became a couple in an instant. I was even shocked that she agreed on us being together. Honestly, at first, I thought it would never work as I was still hoping that Vivian and I would be back together. I was still on the verge of pursuing Vivian back in my life.
When I first saw her in the bookstore, I got attracted to her and it was the first time I got attracted to a girl since I have only loved one girl. It’s Vivian. She was my first at everything and my whole world fell apart when she did that to me. I thought I wouldn't be able to get back my pieces, but meeting Deanara was a miracle.
She brought me back to life. You know, like I was dead the whole time, and when she smiled at me, I found the reason to smile again. I never expected that I would fall for her. Honestly, I thought that we would never work out and that I myself was just using her. I had to stay away from her to know what I truly felt and that was when I realized that I don’t want to let her go. She’s now my everything. And, I would fight for her no matter what happens. I will not let the same mistake happen twice. I will make sure that this time, she’s going to choose me. I will be the better version of myself for her. She deserves to be treated right.
“Okay, who’s gonna start and oh wait…” She paused as she reversed with one hand. Damn! She’s so sexy. I really love her curves and I hate how she doesn’t even know how beautiful she is.
She had those hazelnut eyes that easily captured my heart. It felt like I was melting whenever she stared at me. She has a greek nose, a thin pinkish lips that’s really so addicting to taste. Damn! I could kiss her the whole day.
“Where are we going?” She asked. “Should we go back home or…” She checked the time as she reverted her eyes back to the road and started driving. Wow! I am so lucky to have a very gorgeous driver and she’s just wearing high-waisted denim shorts with her favorite white v-neck shirt paired with sneakers. She doesn’t need to wear extravagant clothes because everything suits her.
“Do you usually go here?” I asked her. “You seem to love cold places.”
She nodded with a chuckle. “Yes. I was born in a cold place, so you can say that.”
“I don’t usually go here, so hmm…” I started thinking. “I saw this in a post before. It’s a coffee shop overlooking a lake. Do you know that place?”
I noticed how that certain word changed her mood although she was able to smile at me when she glanced. What was that? Am I just hallucinating or does it ring a bell to her?
“I know a coffee shop…” She slowly spoke. “Yeah. Maybe, we can go there and…”
“Watch the sunset.” I suggested. There’s only an hour before the sun sets and I think that would be a nice view to watch the night go up.
I saw it in an advertisement before but since I don’t usually spend time in this city, I haven’t gone to it. I used to spend my time on beaches since Vivian loves it as opposed to Deanara who loves mountains. Just a hint that I need to confirm, though.
“Mountains or beaches?” I asked.
“Are we gonna play now?”
“Yeah. Until we arrive at the shop. How long it’s gonna take?”
“Just minutes.” She replied. “Mountains.”
I smiled triumphantly because I was right. I’ve seen her picture in her instagram and she posted a lot of pictures from different places in the world and most of them were pictures of sunrise or sunset in the mountains. Actually, her feed is composed of sunrises and sunsets so you can only count her solo pictures.
“And, you?”
“No…” I shook my head. “You should ask new questions.”
She pouted while still looking at the road.
“Fine…” She started thinking. “What’s your favorite color?”
“Gray.” I replied. “What’s your favorite food?”
“Paella.” She grinned.
“Really?” I looked at her and she chuckled. “So, wow. I cooked the right dish for you.”
“You did, babe.” She replied with a giggle. “Okay, I am having trouble thinking, so how about you just ask me anything you want then you get to answer it too.”
“Woah. That’s unfair.” I pouted. “I also want you to think.”
She glanced at me. “I am trying to think but if you do love your life. Let me focus on the road. How about that?” She sweetly smiled at me. What can I say? I melted already and it’s not like I can say no to her.
“Okay…” I grinned. Of course, I’d figured this out so I am ready with a lot of random questions before I ask the final question.
“Uhm…” I clicked my tongue, acting. I also can’t think of anything. I will start with our basic information.
“I’ll start by telling you about myself.” I smiled at her. I told her some basic information that we actually know about each other but I still like hearing anything about her especially that her voice is like a lullaby to me.
“I am a dog lover. How about you?” I continued.
“Cat.” She replied. “Although, I no longer took care of pets since my cat died when I was in college. It was very traumatic so…” She sadly smiled. “Do you own dogs?”
“Well, I did.” I replied.
“What happened to them?” She glanced back and stopped as we waited for the traffic lights.
“They’re at Vivian’s care now so yeah…” I replied and tried not to make it awkward for her. She just nodded and focused on the road.
“How did your cat die?” I asked, trying to change the topic.
“She’s old already since I have her since I was a kid. It was given to me by my grandmother.”
“The one I saw in your mansion?” I scowled. It still crept me out knowing I have seen someone that doesn’t exist. Like, it was the first time and up until now I still couldn’t believe it. What the hell was that? Should I get it as a sign that they want me for her? It’s creepy.
“Yeah. I guess she likes you.”
“Of course, everyone likes me.”
“Indeed. But…” She paused and stared at me to say, “I love you.”
I blushed. Fuck! I felt like gay for having this feelings but I am really having butterflies in my stomach.
“I love you, too.”
“So, anymore questions?” She asked. “I thought we were playing.”
“Basic questions are so boring. Let’s go deeper.” I answered. “What are the three things that make you happy? Aside from me, of course…” I proudly concluded.
“Hmm…that’s quite hard…” She tilted her head as she thought. “First, a good book with coffee. Second, the sunrise. Third, a lullaby.”
“Lullaby?” I raised my brow. “What does it mean? You like it when someone sings to you at night?”
“Not really…” She wagged her head. “I mean, I like it when someone just sings right into my ear. You know, hug me and just sing randomly. That kind of feeling…” She paused and I saw how her eyes turned sad for a moment.
“Why? Did you remember something or…” I stopped and was afraid to continue it.
“No. Nothing…” She eventually smiled. “How about you? What makes you happy aside from me?”
“Cars…” I instantly said.
“Well...given. How many cars do you actually have? Don’t tell me you even have planes?”
I giggled. “You’ll know soon how many cars I own.”
“I’ve seen five of your luxury cars. Surprise me more, babe!” She urged.
“Uhm...beaches and skies make me happy, too. Actually, I don’t know, but a lullaby at night before I sleep would really make my day. My mother used to sing to me before I go to sleep and when she died, I no longer know how to sleep without her lullaby so I really need something to listen--”
I stopped when she asked me to open her bag.
“What?” I said.
She pointed at her bag at the back and I politely got it, and opened it. I was expecting that like any other girls it would be full of make-up kits, or something girls used like lipsticks, but instead, it was full of things that made me even love her more.
She had a notebook that I didn’t open because that might be her journal or something that would be keeping her secret.
“Are you checking the inside of my bag?” She chuckled.
“Yeah. And, woah. You like highlighters and pens. And…” I started searching her bag.
There’s a small wallet, alcohol, wipes, an ipod, her cellphone, chocolates, powerbank, and -- I stopped when she hit my hand.
“Stop raiding my bag, okay? Just get the red flashdrive in the pocket.”
“This? What is this?” I showed it to her.
She didn’t answer me as she focused on parking the car. Oh. We are already here and I wasn’t even aware. I looked at the place and was awed by its beauty as I saw the cone from here.
“I recorded songs for you that you can listen to before you go to sleep. It’s my voice.” She winked and I was caught off guard.
“You did?”
“Yeah...why? What’s with the face?”
I was overwhelmed and I just couldn’t explain what I am feeling right now.
“Has anyone told you that you are amazing?” I told her and I will never get tired of telling her how amazing she is.
“I got that a lot, babe. So, you better not waste me. I am that amazing.”
I chuckled. “Thank you, babe! I will surely have an amazing sleep.” I kissed her forehead.
“You should.” She turned off the car engine. “We are here, so let’s go.”
“Are you a regular here?” I asked and fixed the things inside her bag. “I’ll carry this for you.”
“No. You’ll look like a girl--”
“I insist. I love doing things like this for you, so…let me…” I blinked and made puppy eyes to which she laughed.
“Okay, babe. If you insist.”
“I’ll drive back home, so you can rest.” I said as we walked inside the coffee shop. I hugged myself upon feeling the cold breeze.
“Are you always here with Lyuna?” I asked again. “You seem to know this place a lot.”
“Oh. No.” She replied as I opened the door for her. “It’s my first time to go here with Lyuna.”
“But, is this your first time to go with me here?” I curiously asked. I want to list things that we should both do for the first time. I think I need to check places both of us have never been to.
She wasn’t able to answer me when the manager of the coffee shop approached her and that’s when I knew it wasn’t her first time to visit this place.
“Oh my gosh! Deanara!” The manager giggled as she embraced her. “It’s been a long time. Gosh! I thought you’re no longer going to visit us here.” She pouted as she flipped her curly hair. “I missed you.”
It seems to me that she’s a regular here. She really likes cold places. We should start visiting other countries during winter. I need to plan it.
“I’m sorry. I really got busy with a lot of things, but now, I am here.” I heard her say and the girl doesn’t seem to notice she’s with me.
I guess, my presence isn’t what she’s looking for. She was looking for someone else that I already know who’s with her everytime she visits this place.
“Where’s Mattel? Are you with him?”
The manager turned to me and I saw the disappointment in her face as she wasn’t expecting it to be me.
Who the hell is Mattel? Really?
