The Cursed Alpha's Redemption Chapter 16

Love.

Now Killian just had to laugh at that.

As much as that would have been a very wonderful piece of news, it was unfortunately not true. There was no way he was in love with Kendra.

No literally, there was no way.

He had been cursed. Or had everyone suddenly forgotten about that?

“You seem to have forgotten that I’m still cursed—”

“No, I know that… but think about it, man…” Tyrone cut him off excitedly, “Until yesterday, you thought you were impotent… hell, we all thought you were. Honestly speaking, I’d wager everything I have if it came down to it, but I think you’re slowly breaking all the other aspects of the curse, Killian.”

Killian pondered over the blonde Alpha’s words…

Could he be telling the truth?

And if he was, what did that mean for him?

For Kendra?

If that was the truth, he was going to have to marry her to completely break the curse, but there was a little problem;

Kendra didn’t want to get married.

Well, not anytime soon anyway.

Or so she said.

He didn’t have time to wait for her to come around.

What he needed were answers. And he needed them right now.

Killian knew just the right person to talk to to get the answers he so much sought.

Rising from his seat, he rushed towards the door, each stride quick and purposeful, “Thanks man, but I’ve got to go… there are some things I need to figure out—”

“Oh good… I’ll just pass by and see Kendra then.”

Killian froze in his tracks, turning to shoot his nemesis a very intimidating glance.

“You will do no such thing, Tyrone.” He stated, his voice deep and quiet, yet carrying so much weight… carrying so much threat, “Go home.”

“I don’t know why you keep forgetting that I am an Alpha just as you are, Kill. Your words have no effect on me,” Tyrone grinned, “I’m going to see Kendra, and you can’t fucking do a thing about it.” Each word was dragged out slowly, as though they were sharp knives meant to inflict pain on the dark-haired Alpha.

And perhaps they were, for they seemed to be working.

There was a knock at the door, but the two Alphas still stared each other down… no one willing to back down from what was apparently a battle of stares.

There was the knock again… the second time, but they still didn’t back down,

And then finally, the door opened… revealing the no one but the reason behind their little confrontation.

Kendra Sullivan.

She looked so adorable standing there like that in her peach, calf-length floral gown, her brown eyes wide as she stared at the two Alphas in confusion.

They looked like they were just about to rip each other’s throats apart, had it not been for her timely interruption. Killian had the decency to shoot her a contrite look, a light blush coating his cheeks that she did not want to know more about.

She addressed the blond haired Alpha first. “Tyrone. What are you doing here? Isn’t it a bit early to be in Silvercrest territory?”

“Actually, I came to see you…” Tyrone greeted charmingly, closing the gap between them to plant a kiss on her gloved wrist. “You look lovely, but then again… you always do.”

“Okay, Tyrone’s lying.” Killian butted in, feeling a sudden need to ruin their moment. “He didn’t come to see you, we actually had important pack business to discuss… but he’s leaving now.”

“I did come to discuss pack business, yes, but I’m free now… we can spend the rest of the day together if you’re not busy?” Tyrone tried to shoot his shot, but Killian would have none of that…

Not today, at least.

He could barely control his anger at the stupid brute, and his possessive levels were off the charts. He needed to get Kendra out of there before she watched him rip Tyrone’s head off in the next second.

But he needed to keep his cool as well, before he set her off.

She was still angry with him, so he needed to go about this carefully if he didn’t want to worsen his predicament.

“Uh, Ken? As much as I would like you to enjoy the day with this—” He glared at Tyrone, wanting to growl at him… but he managed to get it under control, “—with Tyrone… we’ve got a lot to do today. Matter of fact, Maymunah wants to see us. Right now.”

He wanted to reach for her hand and drag her off with him, but that was a very bad idea, and so he just stepped out and left the two of them alone… to say their goodbyes or whatever.

“Too bad you’re busy today, Kendra,” Killian heard Tyrone say.

“Yeah, too bad.”

“So… rain check? We don’t want your bodyguard ripping my head off now, do we?”

Kendra chuckled at that. Like she actually fucking chuckled.

It wasn’t even funny.

Was the bodyguard their little inside joke about him?

Well, he had heard enough.

“Kendra, come on… she’s waiting.” He growled, sticking his head into the study. “And as for you, Tyrone, go home… we’re done with you and we actually have more important matters to attend to.”

Surprisingly, they both listened to him this time and stepped out of his study, even though they took their sweet time doing it.

Tyrone said his final goodbyes, shooting him a smug grin in the process,

And then he was gone.

“Do you have any idea why Maymunah might be wanting to see us?” The female-Beta asked now that they were all alone, obviously trying to get rid of the uncomfortable silence, but apparently, that was the last thing the Alpha wanted to talk about.

“Rain check?” He scoffed. “Who the fuck uses that word nowadays?”

Kendra didn’t understand. “But what’s wrong with the word rain check?”

Now Killian had no answer to that.

“I don’t know… but at least, I can see why you’d pleasure yourself to thoughts of me instead. He’s so lame.”

“Okay, stop… just stop it. Look,” Kendra pinched the bridge of her nose in frustration, “I’ve had it with your sudden jealousy and possessiveness, Kill—”

“You think I’m not fed up with it too?” He hollered in her face, “You think I’m not confused about it? Y-you think that I-I want this? That I want to come between you and your friendships? Well I don’t.” He walked off, muttering the rest of the words almost to himself, but thanks to her enhanced hearing she heard him. “That’s why I’m going to see Maymunah… because I need some fucking answers, and because maybe she can help us with whatever this is.”

The tall, broody wolf stopped in his tracks when he realised that his Beta wasn’t following him. “What? Are you coming or not?”

Kendra didn’t say a word. She just silently trailed after him.
