Rupert's POV.
I pushed the door of the castle and ran out seeing that I had made her lifeless on the floor, I ran through the wood, I wanted to go far from her, I can't say I have control over myself but I tried not to hurt her, I fight to stop the pain in my body to control myself from going rampage yet I just can't, as I run through the wood, I could see nothing, just the taste of blood in my throat and then a she-wolf appears in front of me, I howl, diving her, she fall on the floor, I needed blood.
"Please, Prince Rupert." She called but then I paid no attention, I pulled my lips to her neck, hoping that my canines will elongate and sink into her neck but her blood irritated me, it smelled awful, and it was different from Iris's blood, I pushed her away, and she falls on the floor, she stared at me.
"I am sorry." I mouthed, I could see the confusion on her face, as I ran away from her, leaving her unharmed on the floor, and as I ran, the only thing on my mind was that of Iris, I hoped she didn't die, I hope I didn't kill her, I don't know if I could survive it if I kill her.
"Mason!" I called immediately I stood in front of the pack house, one of the mansions belonging to Mason's family, he pulled the door, his eyes open wide, seeing how tattered I looked, my clothes were almost in rag as a result of my transformation.
"Rupert!!!" He called, pulling me into the house, with my hand on his shoulder, he guided me to the bed.
"Iris!!!"
"What do you mean by Iris?' His stare is that of confusion.
"I..." my words didn't finish before I closed my eyes, yes, it's always like that, as soon as my nerves calm, I will fall into a deep sleep, waiting for the next punishment which is to go lonely, I become a lone wolf that doesn't want to be around anyone, self-exile.
With the ray of the sun meeting my face and some sound coming from close by, slowly I open my eyes, only to see Mason sleeping on the couch beside me. It was morning already, and that was fast, I had never woken up early the next day after my rampage.
"Mason!'
"Are you alright?" He moves closer to me and places his hand on my forehead. I nodded then the incident of last night came running into my head, I jumped very fast.
"What is it?"
"Iris! I killed..."
"You didn't kill her."
"Is she alive?"
"Yes, Campbell said she is fine, when the news that you have gone on a rampage got to the royal pack, the first thing that Campbell did was to mind link me and I told him that you are with me, so he asked about Iris, I told him, I have no idea, so he said he was going to your castle, she is badly hurt."
I sighed, closing my eyes in frustration, but I could feel Mason's burning gaze.
"What is it?"
"I guess I have bad news."
"Did she leave?" My voice was dry, and my heart felt a bit hurt that she too would leave me, wait, my heart moved, and I grabbed my chest. Mason! I called pulling his hand on my chest.
"Your heart, it's coming back." He grinned looking at me, but then the stuff stopped again.
"It's gone."
"Don't worry, I guess your healing will come soon and you will have a..."
'I don't think I could wait, there is..."
"Mara!!!"
"Who is Mara?"
''Oh, the girl you attacked yesterday..."
"Did..."
"No, nothing happened to her, in fact, she is telling everyone in the village that you didn't hurt her and that you might be getting your cure soon."
'I want to bathe." He turned and looked at me, I think I was back to normal, this was my first time, I went on a rampage and it didn't last a night secondly, I didn't go into a coma and I didn't kill anyone except Iris that I have hurt.
"Are you sure?" Mason questions me.
"Yes, please I am fine, I need to go..."
"Do you want to go home?"
"No, I just want to wash this from me." He nodded pulling his wardrobe to get me what to wear.
"Rupert!'
"Hm!"
"Don't you think this is the shortest time, you have gone on a rampage and didn't kill anyone."
"Stop being ridiculous, I almost killed Iris, I knew, I suck almost all the blood in her vein, and how she managed to survive is still a misery, I am so scared, scared that I have killed someone that seek refuge in my castle, such a worthless prince.'
'Can you stop, you didn't kill her and you should eat, you haven't been eating for days."
"I am not hungry, have you forgotten, that I am a vampire and a wolf?"
"Silly get yourself from there, and go have your bath." Slowly I stand from the bed, my thoughts wandering to Iris, how am I going to face her?
"You should stop thinking about Iris, I bet, you will not meet her there anymore, she must have left the very minute she gained her strength and Campbell said something of her going away."
"Going away?" My head ran in circles I felt lost and hopeless, but she should leave, if she survive this second time, doesn't mean she will survive the third, it was better this way, someone else could protect her not me.
As the water fell on my skin, I closed my eyes, and then the thought of the previous night came to me, and my tears dropped, I have always hated myself whenever I killed any she-wolves but this day, I hated myself more for hurting her, I have no idea but the truth is, I don't like myself, I don't like the fact that I have hurt Iris.
I didn't want to go home, I wanted her to get strong before I went back to the castle, as I sat on the couch, I raised my head looking at the ceiling.
"Let's go home." Vernon pushed himself to the surface.
"To do what? To remind me that I almost killed her?"
"Can you stop sulking, after all, you didn't kill her and I am sure, she knows that you didn't mean to..."
"Almost killed Is the same thing as putting her life In danger, I am hurting her."
"Is there something you are not telling me, you seem to be too possessive about her and scared of hurting her."
"Vernon, what are you saying..."
"Do you like her?" I stood very fast, Vernon was getting me tense. "what brought this question of me liking her into our discussion, heavens know that..."
"Rupert, let's go home." Vernon insisted, so I signed dragging my stuff and heading out.
"Are you sure, you are strong enough to go home?" I nodded tagging his shoulder, his gaze moved to me.
"Thanks for being a friend."
"It's nothing, you are more than just friends for me, you are my brother."
I tapped his shoulder, using the door, as I made my way to the castle, I threw the hood over my head to cover my face, the walk home was slow, I didn't use the speed of my vampire even that of my wolf, I didn't even use the car, I had a lot on my mind, a lot that I wish that my life is not complicated, sometimes I wish that I am just one of those Omegas, that have fewer worries yet they are happy with the little they have. Finally, I was standing at the castle door, I pushed the castle, and after inhaling deeply, I was heading to the stairways, I didn't pay much attention because I was going to my room straight.
"Are you fine now?" I froze hearing her voice, slowly I turned and looked at her.
