Rupert's POV
"Blood shit! What just happened?" Did she just block my mindlink? Anger and frustration pushed into my system, I couldn't pinpoint the main reason why she blocked my mindlink but I didn't feel comfortable with it.
"Hey man, the training is about to stand, so get your ass here.' Mason informed me about the training, I struggled to stand on my feet, and I tried to get Iris off my mind, walking behind Mason, the training went on for days and Iris didn't give me access to mindlink her, and to think she doesn't have a phone, I could easily reach her on that.
"As she already left?"
"Who?' I heard my chest as Mason's words startled me.
"Hey you, why are you creeping on me?'
"I am not, you are the one who is distracted by things only you know what you are thinking."
"Stop talking nonsense, I am not thinking anything, is there..."
"Nope!!!" He was staring at a wristband.
'What is that?'
"Oh! It was given to me by Ariana, it had her scent whenever she was not around me, I could still feel that she was around me."
"Hm!" That was all I said and then closed my eyes.
"Rupert."
"Hm!'
"Why didn't you come with one of Iris's stuff, you could..."
"Stop talking nonsense, why will I want to inhale Iris's scent, I don't love her.'
"Okay! I think Russel is in..."
"Mason stop." I glared at him, my eyes turned cold, if I hadn't restricted myself, I bet I would have grabbed Mason's neck, I turned my gaze from him and walked out.
"Where are you going?"
"Let me be, I want to be left alone." I darted out, the remaining part of the training wasn't fun, I felt I was missing something and I couldn't figure out what exactly I was missing, and now it's the end of the training, I can't believe I will be going home, even Vernon is excited to go home, the joy in him is something that I too couldn't figure.
For some reason, Vernon had filled my head with things that Iris might be doing that made her not take my mind link, I kept pushing it back and I am sure, it was nothing bad because I know the only man that could dare cross his boundaries and hit on Iris, is this worthless wolf whore, that call himself my brother.
Still, I was restless what if she leaves, what if someone else is there that is worse than my whore of a brother, if Mason was there, I would have easily asked him to check on my Iris. "Wait, I didn't just say she is mine." I closed my eyes to shut the thought that I might be having feelings for her. "Not me, it's just my wolf that is craving for her, nothing, nothing I could do about it. I don't love her.'
"Oh, dear, I have missed you...'' Those words pulled me from my thoughts, and my eyes opened only to see it was Mason, probably talking to Ariana, both of them had loved each other even before they found out that they were mates, Mason was seventeen when he found out that his mate was Ariana, the very minute that Ariana had her wolf while I found my mate the same day that, I shifted because my mate shifted that same day with me, it was early, I was supposed to get my mate at least when I am eighteen but I got mine at sixteen, it normally doesn't happen in the pack, but father said I am exceptional and I was excited about it because she is beautiful, she is the woman I have had my crush on, right since I was in third grade but she betrayed me and to think that, I was cursed because of her.
"So you are saying that I am not going to meet you when I return? Then my face scrunched, and I wondered the reason why?'
"Come on hon, I and Iris are out of town to shop for new wear, Iris needs some change in her wardrobe, you know that cousin of mine didn't think getting her nice things is important and since she is attending the tournament, she needs attractive wears."
"You are going with Iris?" I stood from the floor when Mason took Iris's name, he looked at me from the side of his eyes, although he didn't pay much attention to me but the truth is, I know he is aware of my anger over Ariana's actions. Still, he didn't budge when he was done with his lovey-dovey with Ariana and I didn't stop rolling my eyes at him, he got off the phone with her, he should just mindlink her and let go of all this headache he was giving me.
I was staring at him, waiting for an explanation for what his stubborn girlfriend was doing.
"Come on, she only felt that since she was in our pack, she should get to meet other pack members and soon she would be eighteen, she could also meet one of those alphas that might probably be her mate or one who chose her."
"Mason shut up.' He stared confused at me, I too was caught off guard, I pinned my lips together to stop myself from getting mad.
"What's up with you? You are getting irritated, and at the training ground, you are different and the other alphas are beginning to get scared of you."
"That is what they are to do, they should be scared of me, so they don't invade the pack when my dad is no longer the alpha, isn't that what all packs want from their..."
"No, all pack members want peace, and an alliance between other packs, so they can live in a friendly atmosphere, if you keep letting your anger get the better part of you, you might end up being a bad alpha, and your brother will see that as an advantage."
Mason is right, I know am a monster, the alpha that is behind a scary mask, the one that is not proud of his face still I am better than Russel, he is a handsome beast.
"Sorry, I was just stressed that Iris would get into trouble, she is still not strong enough to defend herself, what if she gets into trouble? What if those wolves that are after her life came back, what if they hurt her? Ariana can't protect her and both of them will get into trouble?" I pick my words, trying not to give him a hint that I wasn't scared of that but something else, what if she met her mate? Or has she already met her mate? I didn't take into consideration all those before I let her in and I now, my wolf long for her. It's not me that is longing for her but my wolf.
"It's fine, alpha, I didn't mean to tell your wolf."
Stop calling me alpha, I guess the pack members wouldn't even want me as their alpha." I grabbed my bags, and we headed to the car.
"Hey, kid brother."
"What is wrong with this idiot?" I said inwardly as I turned slowly to face Russel. "What is it?"
"Oh brother, Father says the tournament is tomorrow, so he wants you to fly on the jet, so we can arrive on time and have a good rest before the tournament, but if you want you could drive your car and get tired, so you could be defeated."
Russel never did care about me and he is not going to be involved in the fight, so why did he care? Mason looked at me, waiting for my decision.
"Fine, I will fly with you, I will just ask one of those omegas to bring my car back to the pack."
"Sitting on the jet, I know it's not going to be a good trip but I need to endure."
"Rupert!"
"Oh no, this boy again." I closed my eyes, as I said that mentally.
"Mother call." I turned my gaze to him. "She said she had met the woman in your house and she is pretty hot." I clenched my fist, hearing that word hot, is Russel trying to rile me, I don't want to fight, not here, not in the jet, I have never heard someone fight on a flight.
"Maybe, you two will be the first if he doesn't control his tongue and his ugly wolf." Vernon rile.
"She said she is planning to introduce herself to the nearby pack Alphas and that Iris had a new male friend, he is..."
"Russel!" My wolf riles, I howl, pulling myself from the floor and launching at him.
