Iris's POV.
I was sitting in front of the mirror while Cathy and Susan are dressing me up, I was wearing a white gown like it was my wedding, and braiding my hair and applying those makeup on my face, makes me look more beautiful, she try to fix some hairpin on my hair, she mistakenly hurt me.
"Ouch, that hurt." I cried out a bit, and Cathy smiled.
"We are sorry alpha, Iris." Cathy pouts while apologizing with her playful eyes.
"Did we hurt you?" Susan's voice came up.
"Of cause, you did, you want to damage my head." I tease as I laughed at their funny scared face. "I don't understand why I have to do all this, I just don't feel okay with it. Everyone around here already knows that I am their alpha and so I just felt that it's all a waste of time."
"Oh, my sweet humble Alpha." Susan turned my face to the mirror. "Well you can't be Goldfang alpha unless you have a proper alpha ceremony and you get to look like a star, remember you are choosing your alpha today."
"That is the part I don't even want to talk about, I wish that is not going to be part of the ceremony and Drake your naughty brother doesn't want to be my chosen mate."
"Why will he when he had his eyes on someone?" Cathy's voice came up.
"Who?" I asked with curiosity, she move her eyes to Susan and then back to me. "Go on and tell me."
"Stop thinking about that brother of mine, you should focus on going up there and announcing to the pack that you accept to be the alpha of the gold fang pack," Cathy said kissing my cheeks, I don't know, I love her very much like a kid sister.
"So are you saying that I will just go up there and say that I accept my role as the alpha of the goldfang pack and also introduce my beta to everyone," I speak as I stared at the final touch Susan is giving to my face.
"Yep, just like a piece of cake, the only part you will have issues with is when different alphas will show up with their endless wealth to entice you."
"Is it just going to be Alpha?"
"Of cause not, anyone that is more powerful with money, you never can tell, with your beauty, you might end up having a gladiator wanting you."
"Susan.." I called, and she smiled.
"My bad, let's hope that you get your dream male wolf as a mate." I pinned my lips together as she mentioned mate, my thoughts flash back to last night, Drake said I have a mate and that mate is unfaithful. What if I meet him today? What if he finally apologize that he didn't mean to hurt me? So many what if.
"Alpha Iris, is everything okay?" Cathy's voice pulled me from my thoughts.
"I am fine, come on, let's join the others."
"Sure, you look gorgeous," Cathy said when I finally stand on my feet, I too love myself, I didn't remember the last time I have such a good bath and treat on my skin.
My reflection in the mirror was something longing for. I was looking like a beautiful queen or should I say an alpha queen, Susan, and Cathy walked beside me.
This night is going to be special for me, finally, I have gotten back my parent's pack from the hand of those monsters. I will rule the pack members in love and no matter who my fated mate or my chosen mate turns out to be, I will not give them up for him, I will make sure to stand by them.
Slowly I walked into the hall, which was filled with royalty, Alphas, and beta from different packs, the place is colorful not because of the decorations but also the smiling face of my pack members and others.
Watching everyone eat and chitchat with a smiling face gave me joy that I forget that apart from celebrating my alpha and beta ceremony, I also have to pick a mate and I have decided to pick one from anyone that I found okay, to rule beside me.
Finally, the ceremony kick off, it was fast like Susan said, I finally had the vow and take the oath of my alpha position, and then beta Drake also take his vows and there comes the dreaded part, picking my mate. One of the lawmakers took to his feet, grabbing the mic.
"Hope we all are having fun and enjoying the ceremony?" I could hear growl indicating that they are happy and then he smiled and turned to me.
"Our gorgeous alpha had something else to disclose to us." Everyone's gaze was focused on me and my heart was thudding, beta Drake turned and look at me.
"Alpha Iris, slow down your heart is beating way too fast and I kind of think that it's going to jump out of your chest." I turned and look at him
"Stop being mean, you are my beta so you should be on my side."
"Of cause, I am on your side, always on your side." I smiled and reduce my voice.
"Then claim me and let me off the hook." He wink at me.
"I still don't want to get killed." Taking that word my focus become on him.
"Tell me, did you find out who my mate is?"
"Should I tell you?" He lower his lips to my ear, ready to speak but his words were cut short when the elder voice came up again.
"We do not have to search long, a letter of mate proposal was sent from Wildfang Shadow pack by the alpha of Wildfang Shadow pack, stating his interest in making our alpha mate to...." I turned and look at Drake, my heart rejoice thinking it was Rupert, he is coming for me, and he is going to finally accept me, those words were what was playing in my head that I pay no attention to the elder words, but Drake wasn't excited about it. "The letter state that he is right here on the premises to claim his mate, that is if our alpha will accept him as her chosen mate." My smile knows no limits even when Sally is trying to say something in my head, I am not letting her.
"So alpha Iris, are you ready to accept the..."
"Yes, I will."
"No, alpha Iris, you can't."
"What do you mean no I can't? You should know that Rupert is the man that I love and I don't care about any fated mate, I only want Rupert and no one else."
"But he is not Rupert." My gaze moves to him.
"What did you mean by it's not Rupert? If it's not Rupert then it's who?"
"It's me."
