“Make sure you seal the deal with JC Constructions tomorrow, so I don't have to come here again and settle your mess. What about the contract with “Kuwait Transcontinental shipping Co. W.L.L?
“Mr Kendrick is in charge of that sir, am sure by tomorrow it will already be a sealed deal.
What about the issues with the shares transfer, hasn't it been resolved yet?
“It will be sir it's just the hefty tax which is expected to be paid is more than we thought”One of the employees musters.
“Well, fix it and be done with it already I don't pay you all to slack off”I say grimly.
“Yes sir.” They all murmured.
“Good, because I don't have the time for this. My wife is pregnant and for the main time I won't be able to come to the headquarter. For now I'll be working from home so I can be with my wife and unborn child”I say grimly aggravated that I had to be dragged from home to take care of things they should have done properly. I wanted to say more but was cut off by the sound of my phone ringing.
“One Minute”I say as I excused myself from the meeting, as I pick up the phone seeing Cedric's name in the caller ID. The feeling of dread rolls down my spine as I start to wonder why he's calling.
“Did something terrible happen to her”I thought as my heart ponder.
“Boss Ms. left the house with the car. I tried to stop her but she ..”I didn't let him finish talking before I raced out of the building scared out of my mind.
“Dear lord!
“Let nothing happen to her”I thought as I rush into my car driving off.
“Why would she run off like that in her condition”I thought as I grimace. Trying not to let negative thoughts race through me.
“That woman never listens I thought things were finally working out. But instead she always keeps me on my toes, never making things easy for me ,I tried dailing her number but no response.
“Fear grips me and my blood runs cold. Dreading the fact that history is going to repeat itself yet again.
“I then rush to call up my security team, thankfully I had implanted a tracking device on her car so I called them up to pin point her location.
“I know if she finds out about this then am done for . But I still don't care, Filled with fustration mixed with anger, fear and anxiety I waited till they texted me her location.
“My body sagged with relief, now knowing where she ran off to.
“Why would she leave the house without telling me?I say huffing. Thankfully my security team was able to hack her location and the CCTV cameras around. I was informed that her car was parked in front of her old work place G .Elias & co. Law firm.
“So I drove there like a man obsessed, parking recklessly as I rush into the building I know I looked hysterical. But I don't care,Spotting her Lamborghini outside the Parking lot gave little or no relief and it did nothing to quench my anger. A part of me wants to just see her safe and unscathed.
“I then rush into the lobby searching for her frantically. I then climb up the elevator to search for her but then I spot her with a man!!!

“Was this the reason she ran off to meet him?”I thought as my fear decipates but was then replaced with anger, betrayal and disappointment which surprised the hell out of me.
“I then stood still, trying to contain my anger. As I watch him put his arms around her as they talked and laughed. Just when he was about to place his hand on her stomach I then saunter in.
“As long as the baby she's carrying is mine no one or man can have her.
“Unhand her boy, if you don't want me to ruin you for life”I say with anger and dominance.
“Moving forward I walked up to her pulling her out of his arms and into mine.
“Max”She says gasping with surprise.
“What are you doing here?"She asks still shocked .
“I mean how did you know where to find me?”She says looking suprised like she couldn't believe I was right in front of her but with a suspicious look on her face.
“I have my sources “Cara”. So you can run, infact run to the end of the world and I'll still find you”I say in a threatening tone as I tighten my hands on her waist to stake my claim on her. Gently pressing her close to me, as I place a hand on her baby bump and I felt it. I felt our baby moving and kicking.
“Did the baby just..?”I ask suprised and Happy.
“I know right, seems he recognizes his father”She says with warmth smiling up at me .
“Guys, I Know you both are having a moment but I've got work. And Caitlin it seems you won't need me as your shopping buddy since your hubby is here to pick you up.”The unknown guy says but I wasn't listening to what he's saying.
“All I could think about was this very moment.
Caitlin's P.O.V.
“You were rude to Jake. Max, can't you just be nice for a moment”I ask staring at his handsome yet stony face.
“Nice? You wanted me to be nice after you just ran off like that. Caitlin's for God sake I thought you were hurt or maybe something bad had happened when I received Cedric call”He says in a worried tone.
“How did you expect me to feel?
I was worried sick and had to leave my board meeting because I was scared for your safety,but Instead I find you here in the arms of a strange man”He says with fire in his eyes.
“Okay, maybe I crossed the line”I said in am apologetic tone.
“I was bored at home and I needed to deliver some files. I know I shouldn't have behaved rashly but I still did and am sorry.”I say trying to appease that angry look on his face.
“Max”I say trying to get his attention as he turns his head sideways still angry.
“Hey, it's ok”I say cupping his face in my hands.
“I'm yours remember, your wife nd no one else”I whisper as he then looks me in the eye trying to see through my soul.
“Am sorry I made you worry. I just came out to drop the case file of my client, and I thought it would be perfect to do a little baby shopping”I say trying make him see reason.
“Still, that's not enough reason for you to endanger yourself and the baby. Besides you could have just asked Cedric to drive you here or better still deliver it for you”He says his brows knitting together with a look of worry and fustration evident on his face.
“You know me Max. you know I like doing things myself”I say with a hidden smile.
“Don't tell me you were jealous”I say smiling....
“Jealous?. That's not the issue right now why didn't you pick my calls then.”He asks digressing.
“Stop trying to change the subject. Besides When did he turn become a detective?"I ask laughing at how adorable he looks as he tries to hide his jealousy.
“Fine just stop sulking, I left my phone in the car am sorry” I say hugging him. I know we've created a scene but I sure as hell didn't care.
“He then wraps his arms around me hugging me back, he rests his head softly on my neck inhaling my scent then he says softly.
“Truth is, I was scared, I was so damn scared when I received Cedric's call. I don't want anything to happen to you, my ex wife died in a car accident. We had an argument that night before she ran off driving into the night. As foolish as I was, I had no idea she had an accident and I attended a board meeting the next morning. It was later after Cedric Called was I then told about her death.
“How do you think I felt when I saw Cedric call again after just leaving you in your own. It felt like DeJa Vu.”He says his voice going thick with emotions.
“Am sorry baby, it won't happen again okay”I say, trying to comprehend how much pain he would have been in and how much have put him through unknownly.
“I promise I won't step out of the house without Cedric or any security detail Again”I say as I hug him tightly. At first when the artificial insemination went all bunkers I thought maybe after marriage there may still be a way around this. Maybe an early divorce? Or annulment? If that's even possible.
“But now, standing right here in this moment all that fades away. I've now decided now that I want to be Ms. Giovanni not just in name but his wife in every way and I mean every word.
“Max can we go eat something? The baby is hungry.”I whine trying to distract him from dwelling deep into his thoughts and past memories.
“How irresponsible of me, Let's go get you something to eat”He says chuckling as I slip my hands into his. Walking hand in hand out of the building with huge smiles on out faces.

“Max has never been one to talk about his ex wife. Especially her death he's always stiff at the mention of her name and he doesn't open up that easily so this means it's a large step in our marriage.
