CHAPTER 10:
Her scream stopped in her throat.. Blinking her eyes, Victoria remembered that it was none other than her husband! She recalled the hectic day has passed yesterday..
But, when did he come!? Wasn't he send the news of not being able to come!?
"What are you thinking?" Alexander asked suddenly..
Victoria blinked her eyes and realised she was behaving like a stupid "umm.. No.. nothing.." She slightly stuttered and her voice was hoarse because of sleep..
Alexander looked at those big black watery eyes.. They are filled with fear and helplessness, which he never wanted.. He want to see love and brightness in them.. He want those same sparkles which he had seen a year ago when he first looked in her eyes..
He kept few strains of hairs back of her ear.. Victoria was lying like a robot, not a single movement..
Alexander sighed "you don't have to be scared of me Victoria.. I won't do anything you are not comfortable with.. You are my wife and taking care of your problems is my duty.. Understanding you is my responsibility.. We might not take our vows in front of the priest, but the marriage is real and we are husband and wife.. I promise to take care of you and things related to you.." With that he kissed her forehead lovingly and get out from bed in order to fresh himself up.. He could not sleep at this point..
Victoria thought he would pounce on her like the beast.. But, much to her surprise and relief, he did not do anything!! However, his words made her slightly guilty.. She shouldn't have doubt on him.. His words also made her feeling safe somehow.. Those words were like a stern promise.. She felt mixed emotions inside her heart..
She decided to be a good wife.. Her husband might not be looking like a normal person and much older than her, but he is her husband and she should give back the respect and gentleness he is showing to her..

"Get up sleepy head.." Victoria tried to wake her brother up from sleep..
"Uhuhu.. Let me sleep few more minutes.." Vincent groaned and turned around..
Victoria got an idea and spoke "okay then, I am telling Alexander that you don't want your treatment to get start.. And cancel the appointment.."
The moment her words went to his ear, he jumped up on the bed straight away.. "no no.. I am awake.. Don't cancel the appointment.." He blurted out..
"Hahaha" Victoria started laughing loudly "fine, now freshen up quickly and have your breakfast.. After that we will go to meet the doctor.."
Vincent did not waist another second and did what his sister asked him to do.. He did not want to miss this opportunity at any cost!! He want to be like other kids and lead a normal life..
After having their breakfast in silence, Alexander spoke "you ready Vincent, to visit the doctor?"
Vincent nodded vigorously "yes, I am!!"

Victoria was strolling in the corridor of the biggest hospital in London.. Vincent was inside the cabin, Doctor Anderson was talking with him, God knows what!! Though he is one of ths best in the whole England, but still she was feeling restless..
She didn't understand, what the doctor want to talk with Vincent!! Alexander already told her his working process, but still her mind was not at ease..
Alexander accompanied them in it.. He generally didn't get out of the house, yet this time he did, ofcourse because of his wife.. He was wearing a mask, in order to hide his distorted face..
Seeing her wondering restlessly, he stopped her by holding her arms "hey calm down okay? Everything will be fine.. He will be fine.." He tried to comfort her..
Unable to control herself, Victoria hide her face on his chest.. She shook her head "I.. I don't know, but I am feeling too nervous.."
Alexander did not say anything more.. He just hold her tightly in his arms.. Victoria felt safe with him..
Almost twenty minutes later, Vincent came out holding doctor's hand with one hand and chocolates with another.. He was looking much happier..
Victoria quickly walked to him and take him into a hug.. "You okay?" She asked with concern..
Vincent nodded excitedly "you know sisi, I can also live like other kids after my treatment.. Doctor uncle also give me these chocolates!!" He was exited..
Doctor bent down towards Vincent "you go in the play room with nurse, I will talk to your sister and brother-in-law, okay?" He was talking very gently and with a smile..
Vincent nodded with excitement "okay.." Doctor then nodded at the nurse and she took her to the play room..
Doctor Anderson looked at Victoria and Alexander "please come with me.. I have something to tell you.."
Victoria felt panicked in heart.. Alexander wrapped his arms around het shoulder and give it a comforting squeeze.. Then both followed the doctors behind him..
After taking their seat, Victoria could not control herself anymore "what is it doctor!? Is everything alright!?" She blurted out..
Doctor smiled gently "calm down Mrs. King.. Everything is fine.. Vincent is such a good and a strong kid.. It will be easy to get along with him.. You just need to sure that he is getting all the nutritions he needed and the proper mental support from his family.. Because, this process can get a bit tough and he needs a moral support.. And all these while you need to be strong and patient.."
"Will it be too painful?" Victoria asked with misty eyes.. She was feeling pain only hearing this.. God knows how painful it would be for Vincent!!
Alexander caressed her back in comforting manner and looked at the doctor "will there be any complications Doctor?" He asked..
Doctor shook his head negatively.. "no.. Don't worry.. Nothing would happen.. It's just a long process which can demotivate the patient and make frustrated.. Moreover, he is a kid.. I am just telling you to be patient and strong to motivate him.. Everything will be fine.. He will be fine.."
Alexander nodded in understanding "thank you doctor.." He then looked at his wife "Let's go.."
After thanking the doctor both Victoria and Alexander walked out from the cabin.. Vincent was waiting for them in the play room.. There were few more kids also playing and he was spending time with them..
When he saw his sister and brother-in-law he came running to them hurriedly "sisi look, isn't she so cute?" He asked while pointing towards a two year old cute little girl..
Victoria nodded with a smile.. "Hmm, she is.."
Vincent then looked up at both of them "when will you have a baby? I want to play with my little nephew or niece.."
His sudden words made the couple go stiffened.. Victoria blushed and feeling embarrassed..
Alexander also felt kind of awkward with his abrupt question.. "Ahem.." Alexander cleared his throat.. "Umm.. Aren't you hungry Vincent? Let's go grab some food first, shall we?" He tried change the subject quickly..
