Jackson Labonair
The moment I stepped into the rebel lair with my wolves, males and
females united to together defeat the strays and rescue the
wolves, I smelled my mate in the air, the smell of Hayley
was unique. I followed that scent all over the underground
bunker until I found it, trapped by a vampire. I didn’t think twice
about turning and tear that parasite to pieces, and it was little for him
deserved.
My dead heart took a leap of life when I saw it.
The air ran out of my lungs when my eyes found Hayley,
a monstrous roar echoed through my troubled mind,
breaking the silence that settled inside me after departure
her.
My voice was lost with the sight of your body so wounded, dirty and
bruised. The stunning dress she had bought for the
marriage was filthy, the red fabric torn, but that
damage was nothing compared to the desolation I saw in those beautiful
green eyes that I loved so much to observe, where the brightness of life and
savagery had been erased, just as it happened to me.
The smell of the stray mixed with yours wrapped my stomach,
I trembled at the thought of the possibility that Nick raped her, I gathered all strength
to keep my voice controlled so as not to scare her. I closed my hands
in fists to hear his husky voice, as if hours had passed
screaming.
He touched her, put his filthy hands on my companion,
tried to rape her. If the bastard hadn’t killed, he would have had pleasure
in torturing him slowly before sending him to hell. I saw how
Hayley hugged and looked away, as if she couldn’t bear to look at
me. As if my presence bothered her. And that was like taking
a punch in the stomach.
My only wish was to pull Hayley into my arms, hold her and kiss her—
Until I could take the pain she carried in her devastated face.
But I couldn’t, I didn’t even know if she could stand me touching her,
I was so hurt, I didn’t want to hurt her even more, so I
kept away from her, giving her the space she needed at the time.
So Hayley lifted his chin and gave me one of his looks
fervent, something burning inside her, a rage so deep,
directed at me. I didn’t know what they had done or told her, but
that look melted the ice inside me.
When Hayley was kidnapped, I closed my heart, lifted the walls around
of my mind and locked my emotions the same way I did
when I assumed the supremacy of my father and dealt with rebellion. She
released the monster I was fighting to keep asleep.
Did not know the gravity of the problem that had been created, the force of
barrier that arose between us, preventing me from approaching.
To be honest, I was afraid to approach her, because of
last time I trusted Hayley, she left me. And it broke my
heart. I couldn’t go through that again.
So I closed myself again, protected my heart in pieces,
We’d have time to talk when you got her out of that place.
Hayley was so weak, those bastards torture her for two days, no
they gave him nothing to eat or drink. I was surprised once again with
strength to see her continue fighting, did not give in the weakness or pain of
wounds, released a female, felt the relief of the wolf to finally be
free.
I held a sigh. Hayley’s strength was surprising, even wounded,
she did not stop fighting, always helping others, saving our
people. My heart burned with admiration for the wolf that the moon had
predestined as companion, that brave and courageous female.
I was so oblivious to the world around me, focused on Hayley,
felt the approach of the stray, just felt the knife being driven
in my chest, and it hurt like hell. But the pain of that
injury was nothing compared to seeing the tears running down
Hayley’s face, I haven’t been able to stay away.
My bold little wolf, always so confident and fearless, was now
so fragile, so vulnerable. And as much as she had broken my
heart, dried your tears and kissed your wet face, feeling the
taste salty from your tears on my lips, the broken sound that
escaped from it destroyed me.
It would be hard to fix what was broken between us two, regain the
that was lost. Love was still there, burning in my
heart, burning like an ember inside me, but it would be a long
process until we heal all open wounds.
The same pain and fury I felt when I held the dead body
of Lydia in my arms came back when the smell of that male
got up to my nostrils, something dark reverberated through my chest.
He had killed my sister and came after my partner, I would
suffer until begging for death.
Despite the unbearable pain in my chest, I managed to get up from
floor, feeling my body complain about the wound in the process of healing,
knife had almost hit my heart, it wouldn’t kill me but I
suffered until he was cured. Hayley pulled the tissue from the cut, biting the
lower lip.
— What are you going to do, Jack? — Asked, afraid.
I will find him.
She pressed her lips, releasing a trembling breath. Like me
missed the sparkle in his eyes.
— You’re hurt. — Whispered, blinking slowly, lowering your gaze
to the wound on my chest, bothered by that suit.
— That won’t stop me. — Guaranteed. — I’ve been waiting for that moment for years,
I won’t let him escape alive.
Hayley waved, knowing that I wouldn’t give up. I needed to avenge Lydia,
owed it to my sweet sister who was killed cruelly, because
belonging to my family, for the position that accompanied me. She was
innocent, a rose born among thorns.
Steps down the hall caught our attention. It was Isaac the wolf
poured a smelly liquid through the walls and floor. When he saw
Hayley, let the white gal fall to the ground. The hug the male gave
in my partner went from cracking my bones, to watching her bite her teeth through
pain of being squeezed like that.
— Thanks to the Moon, you are alive.
Hayley blinked, still dizzy from the overwhelming embrace. I saw her shake the
head and tried to force a not convincing smile. She would continue
lying, hiding the damage he’d done to her in those two
days.
— What are you doing?
Isaac released her and returned to take the gallon. When he approached,
I recognized the smelly liquid. I twisted my nose.
— Throwing gasoline through the lair, so that the fire spreads faster.
Hayley nodded and dared not reply. That was one way to end
with that damn place quickly, erasing your existence and the
turning to ashes.
I approached her, still hesitant, and lightly touched her back to
don’t scare her anymore.
— How are things? — I asked my beta, wanting to know the
situation we were.
Isaac squeezed the gallon hard. And I knew something bad would come.
— We captured five leaders. Apparently, being with the female
Supreme attracted the other leaders of the bands scattered by
territories. We take them out, they will be subjected to judgment
next to Camilla.
Gnashed my teeth, trying to hold the beast inside me that roared for
shed the blood of all those bastards who wanted to do
hardly my partner. Everyone should die in the worst possible way.
No mercy. No mercy. No hesitation. All would burn.
Hayley turned his head towards me, his eyes magnified.
— Did you arrest Camilla?
I nodded, my jaw cracked.
— Camilla is being punished for what she did to you. And will be condemned for
betrayed his own people, as did the leaders of the gangs.
Hayley closed his hands in fists. I smelled his anger and his
hatred spreading through the air. The pain was still present, but the fury
also, and it was that feeling that gave Hayley strength in that
momentum.
— The strays who were not killed, we held them in the cells
that they kept the females captive. Failed to escape
when the fire starts to burn.
Knowing that the strays were trapped and prevented from fleeing when
the fire burned them brought a strange relief within me. The
promise my little wolf made was being fulfilled.
— All females were freed? — I asked, still keeping my
hand on my partner’s back. A support in case she needed it.
— There is an area in the back that we have not yet entered. The door is made of
silver, we’re trying to open it and check if there’s any female prey.
The smell of that male was still impregnated in my nose, the
His trail was strong, the bastard wasn’t far away. I needed
find him, feel his blood on my hands, end his life.
I relaxed when Hayley touched my arm, as hesitantly as I did. The
strength of his beautiful green eyes relieved the grip on my heart.
I’m going with Isaac to rescue the rest of the females.
I dared not object. When I found the stray, I did not want
Hayley was there. I couldn’t bear the look of fear or contempt
if you saw the bloody beast inside me. I’d rather spare you from that
horror. Hayley had been through a lot of shit in the last two days.
His grip on my arm became stronger. Hayley approached his
face of mine, my pulse accelerated.
— Finish that bastard, Jack. Make him pay dearly for what he did to yours
sister. Destroy him without mercy.
By the Moon! I would have kissed her right there until I lost my breath. Miss
hammered into my chest. But I needed to take it easy, there was a lot
changed between the two of us.
I held the back of Hayley’s head and pulled her closer, her arms me
wrapped slowly, and she sank her face into my neck, having
care not to touch the wound that healed in my chest. She was
so bruised and dirty, but she was still my partner, my intended.
— Come back to me, Supreme. I need you alive. — She whispered,
leaning, his hand on my face. His touch made me shiver. As I had
missing her.
