The last pure she-wolf Chapter 9

Although I resented a part of the wolves, I knew there were innocent people. Innocent species that were paying for us, innocent lives that were being killed because of me.

The guilt weighed on my shoulders, I had no doubt that I would burn in hell for all the lives I took to survive. I was doomed to eternal torment for all the blood on my hands, but not my family, they deserved more, a better life.

I knew the pain of loss better than anyone, and it wasn’t fair. I couldn’t be selfish enough to only think about myself at that time.

— You’re right. — Confessed, leaning my head on his shoulder.

— Dad entrusted us with a mission to guard our people, they gave up so much to protect us, and I believe it’s time to reciprocate equally— I took a brief breath.

— Don’t think that means I’ll accept the Supreme Court’s claim, but I promise to try and get to know you and learn more about your pack, that’s all, okay?

Aiden’s gaze made my eyes' water again.

— I would do anything for you not to have to be subjected to it, give my own life for yours if I had to. — Dried up my stubborn tears with tenderness and tenderness in their clear irises. — We must continue our family’s legacy. Protect and lead, remember?

Aiden gave me a hug of cracking the bones of my body and then released me.

— Rebecca asked me to give you this. — She said, taking the backpack off her back.

— She wants me to get ready, am I right? I asked, twisting my nose.

— I believe so. — He shrugged and I rolled my eyes.

Introducing myself to the Supreme Court and his men naked wouldn’t be a bad idea.

— Hayley!

I laughed with his grumpy face and grabbed the backpack going behind a tree and taking a dark dress straps inside, it was fresh and would tear easily with my transformation.

I ran my fingers through my tangled wires and didn’t bother to get ready to receive them, it wouldn’t be worth it. I didn’t know how to breathe properly.

Before we set foot in our village, I had already felt something different in the air, the unusual smells of different wolves, but what frightened me was to feel their presence, even from afar, was so strong, intense and dominant.

My wolf growled in my mind, bothered by that male in our territory. It was not right, that was our home, our safe haven and was being invaded against my will by strangers.

This was my home and I would protect it tooth and nail.

Standing in front of the clearing, with my eyes fixed on the motorcade and the various wolves scattered around my home, my heart was beating strongly against my chest.

I felt the glances divert to my brother next to me, with his dilated pupils and predatory gaze and returned to me, my elongated canines scratched my lips and I tried to intimidate them with my dominion.

Aiden encouraged me to walk, touched my back gently and looked at me understanding, making it clear that I was not forced to anything, the decision was mine.

One chance, Hayley, you promised him a small chance.

I felt like an animal walking on death row towards slaughter. I was in fact in the den of the hungry wolves, and they looked at me savagely, as if they were ready to attack the little lamb that walked among them. But I was not just a sheep among predators.

I was the fierce wolf that would bring each of them to their knees, bent. They would not tame the savage within me. I had already seen him, he had his back to me, but he felt his power from afar and when he turned towards me, a few meters from where I was, I froze in place.

To my total unhappiness, before me was the strongest, dominant and sensual male I had ever seen in my entire life.

Her eyes went down my body, hot as embers touching my skin. I saw in his gray green irises the control he wished to impose on me, I noticed the burning flame in his eyes, and it made me drop a low growl, I would not bow to him.

He noticed. Of course, the Supreme Court would notice my impulsive and uncontrollable genius.

The shadow of a feline smile passed by his beautiful face, being erased quickly.

— Aiden Labonair, firstborn of Mikael and Ellen Labonair. — His powerful voice sent chills through my body, but I used all my willpower to remain indifferent to him.

My gaze fell on Kitsune next to Becca, who opened a small smile towards me, as if wishing good luck and to make sure I was okay.

"At least something good in this piece of shit."

— Arabella Labonair, daughter of the deceased Growing Alphas. — I wished that a hole would open beneath my feet and take me to another world at that time, as the Alpha took a few steps towards me.

That male lavished sensuality and power in every step, the muscles marked by the shirt, the dark hair.

He was strong, his chin was as high and his face as hard as mine. He was the Supreme Alpha, but we were measuring as two equals.

— So, you’re alive. — He said standing in front of me, he was a few inches taller than me.

I did not answer it, I did not think I could open my mouth and not drop some splinter, which would cause some fight and cut throats.

— Hayley, dear, I’m afraid. — The soft tone in Peter’s voice made me clench my teeth, I refused to look at him as I felt him beside me, when he touched my arm I moved away from him quickly, my attitude hurt him, but he knew how to disguise. — This is Jackson Labonair, your Alpha.

My Alpha?

I did not avoid rolling my eyes before his words, that was pathetic, that male was not my Alpha or my companion.

Just a territorial imbecile who thought he had some right over me.

And Supreme, this is Hayley, your betrothed.

My stomach turned so hard that I had to bite my lips not to vomit the meat that was still inside me on top of the Alpha in front of me.

The Supreme just kept staring at me and saw when his hand rose toward my face, I followed his fingers wanting to touch my face, and before I could touch my skin, I flashed my teeth at him in a growl and dodged.

Do not touch me.

I saw Peter widen his eyes and Melissa panting with my attitude, I did not want to cause trouble to them and thinking so, I looked at the Alpha again.

— I don’t like strangers touching me. — I added, but he said nothing, just kept staring at me with his sparkling irises.

I have identified something fierce and wild in the eyes of the Supreme, a primal and dominant flame.

Jackson was the most powerful creature I’ve ever seen in my life. A beast in a man’s body.

I must say that I was surprised to hear the rumors that a Pure was alive.

My eyes swerved to the wolf appearing beside the Supreme, one of his Betas, perhaps the first.

— But we need proof to be sure if you are who you say you are.

I raised my eyebrows at him.

— Do you think I’d lie about my identity? — My voice sounded like a threatening growl.  — Believe me, Beta, I’d give anything not to belong to that damned line of Pure.

— I’m sorry if I offended you. — I said the beta, quickly. — But it’s hard to believe that Arabella survived the attack.

I stiffened my spine and raised my chin, letting them see the firmness in my eyes.

— Arabella is dead. — I declared, and he intended, like everyone around us. — She was killed the night her parents were cruelly murdered before her eyes. I am not her anymore.

The beta did not know how to react, I imagined that it was confused before my words, but it was the purest truth.

Arabella Labonair was a lupine princess, with responsibilities and duties on her shoulders, with a destiny to follow. That was not me, not anymore. I became Hayley Blake, a lonely, rebellious, wild female. Owner of her own destiny.

— Hayley? — Aiden’s voice took me out of my thoughts, I stared. — Are you sure about that? — Looked at the wolves. I know you don’t like being shown off like that.

I opened a small, vicious smile that would make lower wolves tremble.

Then we’ll give these wolves the best show of their lives.

I’d been through a lot worse, I’d survive that pathetic exposure. I looked at the wolves and the Supreme Court one last time, and my wolf roared inside me.

A strong pain spread through my bones and my body went to the ground, my transformation happened quickly, just like Aiden’s.

Before them were two transformed wolves. My coat was dark as night and my eyes sparkling, Aiden was a strong brown wolf, close to the tone of my hair. We were huge and scary by our sizes.

Surprised and surprised looks were thrown in our direction.

— She’s like Alpha. — Whispered the beta, dumbass.

— Bad idea, man. — Blew Dylan to the wolf, while I flashed my sharp fangs at him.

I approached the beta trying to intimidate him with my size, and it seemed to be working. I bit the air inches from his face and felt the faint scent of fear that escaped him. I passed my right paw on his arm, clawing him with my sharp claws, and he jumped back.

I walked slowly towards the Supreme, and he watched me with his bright eyes, curiosity and satisfaction were reflected in his irises. I growled at that display.

My wild behavior just seemed to impress him more and more. Red and intense. His dominance hit me and my wolf growled at him, hating the way he thought he had control over me.

I felt like a bond that held us together, a powerful chain that pulled me towards it like a magnet. It was strong and intense. It made me weak and unable to control my actions.

I could feel a slight pain go through my head and shook my head, releasing a loud roar at him.

I wouldn’t share Alpha’s bond with him, let him invade my mind, die before that happened. I felt suffocated, shy with your power forcing mine.

She was stunned and scared that she couldn’t fight back.

Bastard!

I turned my back on him and stormed off into the woods, which was the best thing to do at the time. I would not stand in the presence of the Supreme and submit to his will.
