If Luke is asked to choose to be attacked by Hulk or Werewolf. So, he prefers to be attacked by the Hulk. At least, Hulk is cool and still has empathy. He can also have a love story full of drama with a giant Hulk.
But in fact, what was in front of him now was a werewolf.
Even though as far as he could remember, the one who was in this carriage with Luke earlier was Jade aka the Miss Mysterious. But as soon as the sky turned into night in a second with an ornate full moon and the lights on the carriage were turned on, what Luke saw in front of his eyes was the figure of a werewolf.
Luke was one hundred percent sure that the Werewolf was Jade the Miss Mysterious because of the similarity of clothes, shoes, and eye color. It's a strange dream, but it must be him. And what was terrible was that the werewolf first growled, then rushed at me with a very fast thump. Pounced on it in its bite.
That's what made him scream so loud and wake up with a hunting breath.
"Aaahh…!"
"... na! Luke! Son! Arise, son!"
Ulfa's call immediately woke him up from the scene just now. Luke opened his eyes, scanned his surroundings, and was immediately grateful and relieved to realize that it had only been a dream.
Ulfa asked her many things, but Luke couldn't hear her properly because he was still trapped by the confusion in his dream just now. After that, after Ulfa patted his back three times and asked him to take a shower immediately, Luke got up from the bed. Ignoring Ulfa who said "Hurry up and take a shower. I've prepared breakfast downstairs."
It took him about five minutes to gather all his senses before finally grabbing a towel, taking a shower, and going downstairs. However, Luke had barely taken two steps into the dining room when his feet stopped. Frozen in place. His tongue was loose and his eyes fixed on one point. On what is served at the dinner table; pancakes, fried chicken, cakes and cola. I gulped. A menu similar to what was served in a dream—only, the numbers weren't the same.
Luke shook his head. Trying to scatter all the memories in the dream and sitting on one of the chairs. He saw Ben sipping hot coffee while reading a newspaper that buried his face on one side of the dining table. Seemed disinterested in his presence. Meanwhile, Ulfa had not been seen since waking him up fifteen minutes ago.
So he asked Ben about Ulfa's whereabouts. "Where's Ulfa?" while Luke took a piece of fried chicken and took a bite.
Then Ben replied, "Ulfa went for a meeting with her friends."
"You didn't deliver, Ben? Very tall."
“ No. _ He left yesterday afternoon, picked up by Laura Barns and her husband. You know the ones who own the horse farms in the middle of town."
Instantly, Luke choked. Takes out half-chewed chicken and makes Ben's face pop up from behind the newspaper. Staring at him with furrowed brows.
"What is it?"
"What did you say?" he asked along with Ben's sentence. Luke then repeated his question and Ben answered one more time. More clearly.
“I said, Ulfa went to meet her friends. Reunion. Something like that."
“And Ulfa went with Mrs. Barns… when?”
"Yesterday afternoon."
Really, Luke could hardly believe what he heard just now. If Ulfa left yesterday afternoon, then who woke her from a nightmare this morning. Ben still looked at him the same way and, of course, Luke hesitated to say what had happened this morning. So, Luke can only say;
“ Well, I thought that it was Ulfa who woke me up this morning. Ha ha, funny, right.” Luke himself could hear her odd, clumsy laugh. Even so, Benjamin didn't laugh too and just cleared his throat.
He said, "Finish your breakfast and I will take you to school."
"No. There's no need, Ben. I can take the train, really.”
"I'll be ready," Ben said cutting Luke off as if he didn't hear him.
This old farsighted Benjamin immediately stood up and threw the newspaper he was reading onto the sofa then went into the room and came out two minutes later with a jacket, shoes and glasses. Now, instead of Luke frowning. Because the last time Ben took him to school was when Luke was in third grade, the rest of the time Luke always took the school bus or subway.
However, in the end Luke sat next to Ben in his old car. They arrived at a traffic light stop when Luke saw Rei walking by.
“Ben, wait. I saw my friend back there."
"Oh really? If so, invite him to ride with you.”
Luke saw Benjamin glance in the rear view mirror and start to pull the car over. Luke opened the window wide and when Rei arrived next to their car, Luke greeted him. Rei offers to ride in their car instead of taking the train and, yeah, she gets in the car.
During the trip, Rei shows himself that he really is a good kid. A simple example is when Benjamin asked how Rei's adoptive parents were doing, he answered so politely that Luke thought Rei was English instead of Japanese.
“How are Herr and Frau Hoffmann? I haven't seen them in a week."
"They're all right, Mr. Bright. But indeed lately, Mommy is a bit unwell. Daddy thought that it was because Mommy was tired of taking care of business and plantations so they went on vacation for a while.”
"And leave you alone at home?"
"Aha ha, actually you can't really say that, Mr. Bright. Because Mom and Dad's workers always come to the house to check. Also Aunt Luka—Mom's younger sister—stayed at their house for the last three days. So, yeah, I'm not home alone."
"Ah, I see," Ben nodded his head.
The car stopped, but not because it had arrived at school but because a railing closed and half a minute later a train sped past. Making the asphalt under the wheels of this car vibrate softly. After a while, the rail bar opened and Ben started his car again and said one thing at a time.
"Ah, I just remembered too," he said to Luke.
"About what?"
"You... you know, don't you, that Ulfa has to check up once every 6 months."
"Of course I remember," said Luke firmly, "aren't you two leaving in the middle of the month?"
"Yes that's correct. But, they haven't even packed the things yet. I guess I should call Ulfa so they can hurry home and pack clothes. Well, would you be all right if they stayed at home?”
he chuckled. This had been a routine in their family since Luke was little and why did Ben have to ask something like that? After all, usually he would invite Miss Norris—a woman who worked part-time as a babysitter in their neighborhood—to look after him while they were away. So, for Luke it's not a big deal. What he thought at that time was, Ben deliberately asked that just so he would look good in front of Rei. It's really sickening. But even so, Luke nodded his head.
"Yes of course. I'm a grown man, Ben. Ha ha."
Luke laughed at Benjamin's attitude which he only replied with silence. Usually, they would fight along the way and both would complain about it to Ulfa according to their own version of the story. But lately, that hasn't happened. I think Ben is also tired of having to bicker with Luke in his twilight years.
Well, now the car really has stopped in front of their school. Luke checked around outside the gate first. Just in case that dorky lady from the 50s comes around again. Luckily he wasn't anywhere and Luke was quite relieved by that. Then Luke and Rei got out of the car. Thanking Ben and telling him they would just go home by train. Ben agreed.
While walking down the school corridors, Luke tells Rei about the party at Zemba Lake last night and asks why he never attended.
"I don't like crowds, Luke," she said.
But that answer was drowned out when, suddenly, there was water pouring down from above with sounds of giggling and jeering.
Hey, Suzurao. Why are you the only one caught in the rain here, Suzurao?”
Luke was shocked, everyone in the corridor was shocked too. In fact, Luke was also affected by the splash of water. slightly wet his right shoulder. When he looked up, it was Patricia's mob. Ah, that bitch again.
