The Rejected Mate Chapter 11

Mia walked up to me, where I was standing. "No matter the position you occupied, you can never have value! Because you're rejected mate with no pack." She smirk and left.

I felt a pang of hurt and anger as Mia's words sunk in. I knew that as a rejected mate, I was considered lower in status among the werewolves, but that didn't mean I had no value. I had worked hard to earn my position in the company and prove myself as a capable employee, and I refused to let anyone diminish my accomplishments.

I took a deep breath and tried to shake off Mia's words. I reminded myself that I had Derick's support and that was all that mattered. I was determined to make the most of my promotion and show the company what I was capable of.

However, deep down, I knew that Mia's words would linger in my mind and affect me in some way. I couldn't help but feel a sense of insecurity and doubt about my place in the company. But I decided to push those feelings aside and focus on my new role in the company.

As I walked back to my desk, I knew that I had to be cautious and watch my back, as there were sure to be those who were unhappy with my promotion. But I was ready to face any challenges that came my way and prove myself worthy of my new position.

Miranda tap me from behind and I turned to face her. She asked maybe I trust Derick because she did not trust him, and it's looks suspicious about his suddenly change by promoting me. I told Miranda that maybe Derick want to change to a good boss and the most important thing is that, he has given me a chance.

Miranda smile and said she's going home since it's closing hour, I tell Miranda to let's go to my place and celebrate my promotion and we left and head to my house.

As we arrived at my place, I felt a sense of relief that I have someone to celebrate with, someone who believes in me. Miranda and I started to make dinner, we cooked spaghetti bolognese and opened a bottle of wine. We talked and laughed and enjoyed the moment. Suddenly, my phone rang and it was an unknown number, I picked up and a deep voice spoke, "Hello, is this Sophia?" I replied, "Yes, who's this?" The voice answered, "This is Alpha Blake, I need to see you right now, it's important." I felt a shiver down my spine, why would Blake want to see me, guess he doesn't know when to stop.

Miranda noticed my expression and asked me what's wrong. I told her that it was Alpha Blake and he wants to see me. Miranda told me to and see him just to hear what he wanted to say. At first I did not want to go, but I decided to go, just to give him a serious warning to stop disturbing me.

I stepped out of my room and saw him standing at my entrance, towering over me with his broad shoulders and chiseled features. He was wearing a simple black t-shirt and jeans, but somehow managed to look intimidating nonetheless.

"What do you want, Alpha Blake?" I asked, trying to keep the nervousness out of my voice.

"I just wanted to congratulate you on your promotion at work today," he said, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

I was taken aback. How did he know about that? It wasn't exactly common knowledge.

"How did you...?" I started to ask, but he cut me off with a wave of his hand.

"I have my sources," he said cryptically. "Just watch your back, alright?"

He turned to leave, but then paused and looked back at me with a sly grin.

"Oh, and by the way, I'm paying a visit to Derick and his pack tonight. It should be...interesting."

With that, he strode off down the hallway, leaving me standing there in confusion. What did he mean by "interesting"? And why was he visiting Derick? I couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about the whole thing.

I rushed back into my room started looking for my phone, when Miranda asked me what happened and what did Blake tell me. I told Miranda that, Blake and his rouge are going to attack Derick and his pack tonight, and I wanted to call Derick and tell him. Miranda snatch my phone from me, and said seriously? That should be between them, and shouldn't be my business.

I turned to Miranda, my eyes wide with shock and fear. "What are you talking about?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "I have to do something. I can't just let Blake and his rogues attack Derick and his pack!"

Miranda's expression hardened, and she dropped my phone on the couch. "No, you won't," she said firmly. "And just like I said, you shouldn't be getting involved in this. It's not your business."

"But Miranda," I protested, "I have to warn them. I can't just sit here and do nothing while innocent werewolves are in danger."

Miranda sighed and shook her head. "Look, I know it's hard, but we have to trust that Derick and his pack can handle themselves. And besides, what makes you think they're innocent, after treating you like a trash in the company? Come on, Sophia, getting involved in pack business like this could have serious consequences, you know that."

I knew she was right, but it still didn't sit right with me. I couldn't just stand by and do nothing while people were in danger.

We're in the middle of this conversation, when I heard a knock on my door. I thought it was Blake again, but when I opened the door, I saw black banquet of roses.

I stared in disbelief at the bouquet of black roses sitting on my doorstep, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew immediately that they were from the Black Bird wolves again.

"What is it?" Miranda asked, noticing my expression of shock.

"It's from the Black Bird wolves," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "They're taunting me again."

Miranda frowned, her eyes darkening with anger. "Those bastards," she muttered under her breath. "And they refuse to show themselves!"

I picked up the bouquet and saw that, there's a card slide in it. I pull out the card and read the message, and It's read, "Join us! or die!"

"I need to know more about this people Miranda because why, would they asked me to join them?"

I picked up my cell phone and we started making research online about them. As we continued to research the Black Bird wolves, we came up with very little information. It was as if they had vanished from existence after their leader had died. But the fact that they were sending me these messages meant that they were still around, and they had a new leader.

"Who could their new leader be?" I asked, my mind racing with possibilities.

"I don't know," Miranda said, her expression grim. "But we need to be careful. If they're taunting you like this, it means they're not afraid to make a move."

I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. The situation was getting more dangerous by the minute. Not only did I have to worry about Blake and his rogues attacking Derick and his pack, but now I had the Black Bird wolves to contend with as well.

As the night wore on, I found it hard to sleep, my mind filled with thoughts of danger and uncertainty. I knew that I am in for a rough ride, and that I would have to be strong and vigilant if I am going to make it out of this alive.
