As I continued working, my mind kept drifting back to the mysterious bouquet of black roses that had appeared on my doorstep last night. I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over me since then.
Just then, Mia and Jessica walked into the company, laughing and joking with each other. Mia had a piece of black rose in her hand, and my heart sank. It was clear that she was the one who had sent me the flowers.
I felt a mix of relief and anger wash over me. On one hand, it was good to know that the Black Bird Wolves weren't after me. But on the other hand, I couldn't believe that Mia would play such a cruel trick on me. I quickly finished up my work and headed to the restroom to talk to Miranda.
When I told her what had happened, Miranda was just as shocked as I was. "Why would Mia do something like that?" she asked.
"I don't know," I said, feeling frustrated. "But I know for sure that she was the one who sent it. She had a black rose with her when she came in just now."
Miranda thought for a moment. "Mia loves black roses," she said. "But nobody knows why she likes them so much."
I sighed, feeling exhausted by the whole situation. "Well, I'm just glad that it wasn't the Black Bird Wolves after all. But I don't know how I'm going to face Mia now."
Miranda gave me a sympathetic look. "Just talk to her," she said. "Maybe there's a good explanation for why she did what she did. Because someone can not just play pranks with Black Bird Wolves seal."
I nodded, knowing that she was right. I would have to confront Mia and get to the bottom of this once and for all.
But on my way back, I saw Derick walking into the company, holding a banquet of red rose in his hand. Derick walked up to me and forced the banquet into my hand with a grin on his face.
All the employees, were stunned because they don't understand, why Derick will give me rose. When I was supposed to be treated like trash.
As I stood there holding the bouquet of red roses, that Derick force into my hand. My mind was spinning. I couldn't believe that Derick, the same person who had bullied me relentlessly for months, was now standing in front of me with a smile on his face, promoting me to the position of operations management. And to make matters even more confusing, he had just given me a bouquet of roses.
As Derick made the announcement to his employees, I saw the shock and disappointment on their faces. None of them were happy about my promotion, and I could feel their resentment radiating towards me.
Mia, in particular, looked furious. I could see the anger and confusion in her eyes. She didn't understand why Derick would give me such a position.
But despite all of this, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. I didn't trust Derick's sudden change of heart towards me. It felt like there was something he wasn't telling me.
As the meeting ended and people started to disperse, I saw Derick walking towards me with a determined look on his face.
"Congratulations on your promotion," he said, offering me a handshake.
"Thank you," I said, still feeling unsure about what was going on.
"I just wanted to let you know that I've been watching you," he said. "You're a hard worker, and you deserve this position. Despite all the bullies, you don't give up."
I nodded, still not sure what to make of his words.
"I also wanted to apologize for how I've treated you in the past," he continued. "I was wrong, and I want to make it up to you."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Derick, the person who had made my life a living hell, was now apologizing to me and promoting me to a higher position. It was all so surreal.
But even as he spoke, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this than meets the eye. I would have to be careful and watch my back, especially now that I had risen to a higher position in the company.
Mia followed Derick as he departed to his office. She entered and slammed the door, Mia question Derick decision as she yell at him and said that is not their agreement. But Mia action makes Derick furious and he shouted at her.
Mia was taken aback by Derick's sudden outburst and his display of dominance as an Alpha. She stepped back and lowered her head, showing her submission to him. Derick continued to reprimand her, reminding her of her place in the pack and how her behavior was unacceptable. Mia apologized and promised to never question his decisions again.
Derick calmed down and sat back in his chair, his fangs retracting as he regained his composure. He told Mia that he had his own reasons for promoting me, and that it was not her place to question his decisions. Mia nodded in agreement, but she still looked unsure and worried.
Derick dismissed Mia from his office and took a deep breath. I know that his sudden change of heart towards me might cause suspicion among his pack members, but I guess he was determined to make things right. He believed that I deserved the promotion and he wanted to show his pack that he was not just a ruthless Alpha, but a fair and just leader.
As for me, I was still in shock over my promotion and the sudden turn of events. I couldn't help but feel grateful to Derick for giving me the opportunity to prove myself. However, I also knew that I had to be careful and watch my back, as the dynamics of the pack had just shifted and I wasn't sure how the other members would react to my new position.
