The Rejected Mate Chapter 21

Blake was devastated as he heard the news that Leah had lost their baby, from the doctor he called over to treat her. He had been so happy when he found out that Leah was pregnant with their child, but now all his hopes and dreams had been shattered.

Blake felt guilty that he had left Leah alone and had not been there to protect her. He knew that he had put her in danger by going after Derick, and now he had lost the most precious thing in his life.

Blake held Leah's hand tightly, and tears rolled down his cheeks as he looked at her. She was still weak and in pain, but she managed to give him a weak smile. "I'm sorry, Blake," she whispered. "I couldn't save our baby."

Blake shook his head, his heart heavy with grief. "It's not your fault, Leah. I should have been there to protect you."

He knew that he had to do something to make things right. He had to find a way to stop Derick from hurting them again. He couldn't bear the thought of losing Leah or anyone else he loved.

Blake made a decision. He would gather his pack and go after Derick. He knew it was risky, but he couldn't let Derick get away with what he had done, since they're counting scores. He would make sure that he paid for his crimes.

With a heavy heart, Blake kissed Leah's forehead and promised her that he would protect her and make things right. He knew it would be a long and difficult journey, but he was ready to face Derick.

As the rain poured down heavily, the werewolves gathered together in the cemetery to say goodbye to their fallen comrade, John. They held their umbrellas tightly, one after the other, as they paid their last respects to their dear friend. The sadness on their faces was palpable, and it was clear that John had been loved and respected by all.

After the burial, everyone started to disperse, heading back to their respective homes. But one lone figure remained, standing silently by John's grave. Derick trusted John with all his heart because John was a loyal follower, who he sees like a friend.

And Derick was having a hard time accepting that his friend was gone. He stared at the gravestone, lost in thought.

Suddenly, he heard a voice from behind him. "He was the one that brought me to the pack," the voice said. "I don't know things will end this way so quick." Derick turned around to see Mia standing there in a black outfit, holding a black umbrella.

"What are you doing here?" Derick asked Mia. "You're banished from the pack. You have no right to be here."

Mia looked down at the ground for a moment, then lifted her head to meet Derick's gaze. "Please, Derick," she said softly. "Let me pay my last respects to John. He was like a brother to me."

Derick hesitated for a moment, then shook his head. "I can't do that," he said. "You know the rules. You're not welcome here anymore."

Mia's eyes filled with tears. "Please, Derick," she said again. "I loved John too. He was a good friend to me, even when I didn't deserve it. I just want to say goodbye to him."

Derick's expression softened a bit, but he remained firm. "I'm sorry, Mia," he said. "You need to leave. You're causing trouble."

Mia's shoulders slumped as she realized she wasn't going to be allowed to stay. She turned and started to walk away, but then she stopped and turned back to face Derick.

"I'm sorry for whatever I did to make you banish me," she said. "But I want you to know that I loved this pack. I loved John. And I'll never forget what you guys did for me."

Derick didn't say anything as Mia walked away. He did not care about all the things Mia said, he had banished her because she had broken one of the pack rules.

As Derick stared at John's grave, he made a promise. That he would make Blake and his rouge pay for what they did to him, and John won't die in vain.

And with that, Derick said his final goodbye to John and left the cemetery, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Blake stand in distance, and watched as Derick walked away, his fists clenched in anger. He had always known that Derick was a ruthless alpha, but he never thought he would hurt a woman.

As Derick drove away, Blake turned and saw Mia walking towards her car. He quickly made his way over to her, blocking her path. "What is the meaning of this?" Mia demanded, her eyes narrowing.

Blake glared at her. "You know damn well what this is about, Mia. Derick has banished you from the pack, and I'm here to offer you a way out."

Mia's face twisted with anger. "I am not some piece of property to be passed around between packs, Blake. And I will never accept any offer from someone like you!"

Blake sighed, realizing that he would have to be more persuasive. "Look, Mia, I know you're angry right now. But the truth is, you're a lone. And I am sure that, the Black Bird Wolves are already looking for you, and they won't stop until they find you, since you're banished. If you join my pack, I can offer you protection."

Mia shook her head. "I don't need your protection, Blake. I will rather be hunted by the black bird wolves, than to accept help from a devil like you. And you even get some nerves, showing your face, after killing John!"

Blake scoffs, "come on Mia, you know Derick should be blame for John's death because he is our target. But he pushed John in the way to get killed instead of himself, tell me, which good Alpha do that to his good followers?"

Blake pulled out his card and forced it into Mia's hand. "Take my card. Call me when you change your mind. You don't have to be alone, Mia. You can have a family in my pack, and we will care about you and forgive all your sins without banishing you."

Mia snatched her hand away from Blake, her eyes flashing with anger. "I can never be part of your family, Blake. Not now, not never! And I will never join your pack."

With that, Mia got into her car and drove away, leaving Blake standing alone inside the dripping rain. Blake smile and said to himself that, he will make he use Mia to destroy Derick.

I busily served the customers their coffee, moving from one end of the counter to the other, as they chatted and caught up with each other. Suddenly, I noticed the manager standing at the end of the counter, his eyes fixed on me. I quickly finished serving the customers and made my way over to him, wondering what was wrong.

"Follow me to my office," he said tersely, and I obediently trailed after him, my heart beating a little faster with apprehension.

As soon as we entered his office, he got straight to the point. "I've received a complaint about you, and it's not good," he said, his tone serious.

My stomach sank. I couldn't imagine what I could have done wrong to receive a complaint. "What happened?" I asked, hoping for some clarification.

"I heard that there was an Alpha from another pack who came into the shop, looking for you," he said, his eyes narrowed. "And he caused a scene, and it terrified some of our customers."

I knew exactly who he was talking about. Derick had been causing trouble for me ever since he knows I work here. "I'm so sorry," I said, my heart sinking. "I had no idea he would cause trouble here."

The manager raised an eyebrow. "Do you belong to that Alpha's pack?" he asked.

"No, I don't," I said quickly. "I only worked in his company before."

He looked at me for a long moment, his expression inscrutable. "This is your last warning," he finally said. "If anything like this happens again, you'll be fired."

I nodded, feeling both relieved and chastened. "I understand," I said. "I'll be more careful sir."
